Bubble size distribution and bubble ellipticity were measured as a function of axial position in a vertically oriented semi-batch gas–liquid Taylor vortex reactor with varying gas flow rate and inner cylinder rotation speed producing axial Reynolds numbers in the range 23.8–119 and azimuthal Reynolds numbers up to 4.2 × 104. The mean bubble size increases monotonically with axial distance from the bottom of the reactor at the location of gas injection. The functional form of the growth of the mean bubble size with axial position depends upon the azimuthal Reynolds number. Specifically, when the azimuthal Reynolds number is less than 1.3 × 104, the mean bubble size increases linearly with axial distance from the bubble injection point. In contrast, for azimuthal Reynolds numbers greater than this critical value, the mean bubble size increases with axial distance in a sigmoidal manner. 相似文献

Satellite-borne tropospheric ozone measurements obtained from the tropospheric ozone residual (TOR) method, CO from the MOPITT (at 850 hPa level) measurements and NO2 from the SCIAMACHY measurements for the three-year period 2003–2005 have been utilized to examine the distribution of the pollutant sources and long-range transport on a global scale. Elevated tropospheric ozone columns have been observed over regions of high NO2 and CO concentrations in the northern and southern hemispheres. High levels of the tropospheric ozone column have been observed below about 5°S in the vicinity of the biomass burning regions and extend from continents out over the Atlantic during October. The seasonal distribution of tropospheric O3 and its precursors in the southern hemisphere shows the strong correlation with the seasonal variation of biomass burning in Africa and South America. Northern hemisphere summer shows the widespread ozone and CO pollution throughout the middle latitudes. The inter-hemispheric gradient of ozone and CO found to be decreased during October. Large-scale transport of the ozone and CO over the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans has been clearly identified. Strong inter-continental transport has been observed to occur from west to east along with the mid-latitude winds in the northern hemisphere. 相似文献

In this article, a novel approach for infinite-impulse response (IIR) digital filters using particle swarm optimization (PSO) is presented. IIR filter is essentially a digital filter with recursive responses. Because the error surface of digital IIR filters is generally nonlinear and multimodal, so global optimization techniques are required in order to avoid local minima. This study is based on a heuristic way to design IIR filters. PSO is a powerful global optimization algorithm introduced in combinatorial optimization problems. This study finds the optimum coefficients of the IIR digital filter through PSO. It is found that the calculated values are more optimal than the FDA tool and GA available for the design of the filter in MATLAB. Design of low-pass and high-pass IIR digital filters is proposed in order to provide an estimate of the transition band. The simulation results of the employed examples show an improvement on the transition band. The stability of designed filters is described by the position of Pole-Zeros. 相似文献

This paper describes a new viewpoint for static voltage stability enhancement based on an improved particle swarm optimization technique. The objective function is selected for maximization of reactive power reserve subjected to usual operating constraints at an operating point. Probabilistic risk of voltage collapse has been used for maintaining desired level of voltage stability margin. This risk of voltage collapse is calculated accounting uncertainties in system parameters and control variables. Probabilistic risk of voltage collapse has been obtained by a trained Radial Basis Function network. Developed algorithm has been implemented on 6-bus, 14-bus and 25-bus IEEE test systems. The pro- or antioxygenic activity of tejpat and red chilli, their fractions extracted using various solvents, and of chlorophyll, capsaicin and dihydrocapsaicin were determined in refined sunflower oil at 37 °C. Tejpat and its fractions containing chlorophyll showed pro-oxygenic activity and the catalytic action increased with increase in concentration of chlorophyll in the fractions. On the other hand, fractions which did not contain chlorophyll, such as the aqueous extract, and chlorophyll-free spice or fractions freed of chlorophyll by column chromatography were devoid of pro-oxygenic activity. The ground red chilli and its 80:20 (v/v) ethanol/water fraction exhibited strong antioxygenic activity. On the other hand, the petroleum ether fraction showed marginal antioxygenic activity, whereas the water-soluble fraction was practically devoid of any activity in refined sunflower oil. The pungent constituents of red chilli, capsaicin and dihydrocapsaicin also exhibited considerable antioxygenic activity. © 1999 Society of Chemical Industry 相似文献
