Physalis angulata L (Solanaceae) is a medicinal plant from North of Brazil, whose different extracts and infusions are commonly used in the popular medicine for the treatment of malaria, asthma, hepatitis, dermatitis and rheumatism. However, the genotoxic effects of P. angulata on human cells is not well known. The main purpose of the present study was to evaluate the in vitro genotoxic effects of aqueous extract of P. angulata using the comet assay and the micronucleus assay in human lymphocytes provided from 6 healthy donors. Treatments with P. angulata extracts were performed in vitro in order to access the extent of DNA damage. The comet assay has shown that treatments with P. angulata at 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and 6.0 microg/mL in culture medium were genotoxic. Lymphocytes treated with P. angulata at the concentrations of 3.0 and 6.0 microg/mL in culture medium showed a statistically significant increase in the frequency of micronucleus (p<0.05), however, the cytokinesis blocked proliferation index (CBPI) was not decreased after P. angulata treatment. In conclusion, the present work demonstrated the genotoxic effects of P. angulata extract on human lymphocytes in vitro.  相似文献

A self-aligned InGaP/GaAs heterojunction bipolar transistor with a compositionally graded InxGa1-xAs base has been demonstrated with fT=83 GHz and fmax=197 GHz. To our knowledge, these results are the highest reported for both parameters in InGaP/GaAs HBT's. The graded base, which improves electron transport through the base, results in a DC current gain and a cutoff frequency which are 100% and 20% higher, respectively, than that achieved by an identical device with a nongraded base. The high fmax results from a heavily doped base, self-aligned base contacts, and a self-aligned collector etch. These results demonstrate the applicability of InGaP/GaAs HBT's in high-speed microwave applications  相似文献

We have analysed trends in male:female ratios among newborns between 1950 and 1990 in 29 countries from five continents. The numbers of liveborn males and females over the period 1950-1994 were derived from the World Health Organization (WHO) database. Countries for which reliable data were available included 20 major European countries (excluding the former Soviet Union, Albania and a few small countries), Canada, the USA, selected countries of Central and South America, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. From the original numbers of males and females, we computed the proportion of males among liveborns for each country and for selected broader areas within Europe. In most countries the proportion of male liveborns was constant during the study period. In particular, the proportion of male newborns in the European Union was 0.515 in 1950-1954, 0.514 in 1970-1974 and 0.514 in 1990-1994. In the USA, corresponding values were 0.513, 0.513 and 0.512. In Japan the ratios were 0.513 in 1950-1954, 0.516 and 1970-1974 and 0.514 in 1990-1994. Decreasing ratios were observed in some northern and eastern European countries plus Greece and Portugal and, particularly, in Mexico. In contrast, the proportion of male liveborns tended to increase in southern Europe and Australia. Overall, among the 29 countries considered, the proportion of males declined in 16, increased in six, and remained stable in seven.  相似文献

The authors investigated the behavioral actions of vasotocin (VT) in castrated testosterone-treated male Japanese quail. The appetitive and consummatory components of sexual behavior as well as the occurrence frequency of crows were inhibited, in a dose-dependent manner, by injections of VT. The authors observed opposite effects after injection of the V1 receptor antagonist, dPTyr(Me)AVP. Lower doses of VT were more active after central than after systemic injection, and effects of systemic injections of VT were blocked by a central injection of dPTyr(Me)AVP. The behavioral inhibition was associated with a modified diuresis after systemic but not central injection. These results provide direct evidence that VT affects male sexual behavior in quail by a direct action on the brain independent of its peripheral action on diuresis. In this paper, a novel concept of a thermo-mechanical MEMS actuator using aluminum thin-film heaters on a thermal oxide for electrical insulation is presented. The actuator is part of an universal tensile testing platform for thermo-mechanical material characterization of one dimensional materials on a micro- and nano-scopic scale under different environmental conditions, as varying temperatures, pressure, moisture or even vacuum and is realised in BDRIE technology. It is shown, that the actuator concept fulfills the requirements for the use in a tensile loading stage along with heterogeneously integrated nanofunctional elements, following a specimen centered approach in line with bottom-up self-assembly processes. Simulation and experiment agree very well in the thermal and mechanical domain and allow subsequent optimisation of the actuator performance.  相似文献

In this article we present the results of a comparison of six globally available land-cover products for the Mekong Basin – an area that spans 795,000 km2 and comprises parts of six riparian countries: China, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. The basin covers most climatic zones: from high-altitude, snow-covered mountainous regions in the north, to subtropical and tropical rainforest areas and agricultural land further south. The geopolitically important region not only is home to over 72,000,000 inhabitants, but also is a centre of attention of several environmental modelling experts, trying to assess future hydrologic dynamics, climate variability, as well probable land-use developments in the area.

We compare land-cover products of the University of Maryland, UMD 1992–1993, the GLC 2000 product, the GlobCover products of 2004–2006 and 2009, as well as the MODIS-derived land-cover products of 2001 and 2009. For harmonization of individual legends, the Land Cover Classification System, LCCS, has been employed. However, even after harmonization, cross-tabulation among the products reveals extreme differences, where the impact of differing classification algorithms weighs higher than the impact of temporal coincidence of products. Especially, differences within mixed-vegetation classes are large, strongly impacting the overall assessment of forested land, other vegetated land, and even cultivated land in the Mekong Basin. The findings presented here are of high relevance for the modelling community as well as Mekong-related environmental studies, which should consider global remote-sensing-derived products with caution and solid background knowledge.  相似文献

Multi‐view reconstruction aims at computing the geometry of a scene observed by a set of cameras. Accurate 3D reconstruction of dynamic scenes is a key component for a large variety of applications, ranging from special effects to telepresence and medical imaging. In this paper we propose a method based on Moving Least Squares surfaces which robustly and efficiently reconstructs dynamic scenes captured by a calibrated set of hybrid color+depth cameras. Our reconstruction provides spatio‐temporal consistency and seamlessly fuses color and geometric information. We illustrate our approach on a variety of real sequences and demonstrate that it favorably compares to state‐of‐the‐art methods.  相似文献

This study uses a hostage negotiation setting to demonstrate how a team of strategic police officers can utilize specific coping strategies to minimize uncertainty at different stages of their decision-making in order to foster resilient decision-making to effectively manage a high-risk critical incident. The presented model extends the existing research on coping with uncertainty by (1) applying the RAWFS heuristic (Lipshitz and Strauss in Organ Behav Human Decis Process 69:149–163, 1997) of individual decision-making under uncertainty to a team critical incident decision-making domain; (2) testing the use of various coping strategies during “in situ” team decision-making by using a live simulated hostage negotiation exercise; and (3) including an additional coping strategy (“reflection-in-action”; Schön in The reflective practitioner: how professionals think in action. Temple Smith, London, 1983) that aids naturalistic team decision-making. The data for this study were derived from a videoed strategic command meeting held within a simulated live hostage training event; these video data were coded along three themes: (1) decision phase; (2) uncertainty management strategy; and (3) decision implemented or omitted. Results illustrate that, when assessing dynamic and high-risk situations, teams of police officers cope with uncertainty by relying on “reduction” strategies to seek additional information and iteratively update these assessments using “reflection-in-action” (Schön 1983) based on previous experience. They subsequently progress to a plan formulation phase and use “assumption-based reasoning” techniques in order to mentally simulate their intended courses of action (Klein et al. 2007), and identify a preferred formulated strategy through “weighing the pros and cons” of each option. In the unlikely event that uncertainty persists to the plan execution phase, it is managed by “reduction” in the form of relying on plans and standard operating procedures or by “forestalling” and intentionally deferring the decision while contingency planning for worst-case scenarios.  相似文献

Safety aspects of control engineering. The influence of control engineering on the safety of chemical plant is described. Particular attention is paid to demands placed on control engineering equipment from a safety viewpoint and to their adjustment, arrangement, and link-up. It is shown that, under certain circumstances, control engineering equipment can be used instead of conventional safety equipment, while preserving the same degree of safety. Considerations are also presented as to effective testing procedures and reasonable testing intervals. These ideas are preceded by some fundamental safety concepts relating to the planning of chemical plant.  相似文献

In order to examine the photostability of the fungicide penconazole (1-(2,4-dichloro--propylphenethyl)-1H-1,2,4-triazole,1) in the field, model experiments with organic solvents were performed. Photodegradation (>280 nm) of penconazole was found to be more efficient in isopropanol and cyclohexane solution than in the presence of cyclohexene. Photolysis in isopropanol and cyclohexane resulted in considerable formation of 1-(4-chloro--propylphenethyl)-1H-1,2,4-triazole (2) and 5H,6H-(1,2,4-triazolo)-[5,1-a]-9-chloro-6-propyl-isoquinoline (3). Furthermore, photodehalogenation of3 yielded traces of 5H,6H-(1,2,4-triazolo)-[5,1-a]-6-propyl-isoquinoline (4) and, in the presence of isopropanol 5H,6H-(1,2,4-triazolo)-[5,1-a]-9-(2-hydroxy-2-methylethyl)-6-propyl-isoquioline (5). Additionally, a lot of polar products were found in high yields which could not be isolated and characterized individually. In the presence of cyclohexene, on the other hand, photodecomposition and photodehalogenation to photoproduct2 were found to be the main degradation pathways and photoproduct3 was only detected as a trace component.
Fungicide und Photochemie: Photoabbau des Azol-Fungicides Penconazol
Zusammenfassung Zur Voruntersuchung der Photostabilität des Fungicides Penconazol (1-(2,4-Dichlor--propylphenethyl)-1H-1, 2,4-triazol,1) wurden Modellexperimente in organischen Lösungsmitteln durchgeführt. Der Photoabbau (>280 nm) nimmt von Cyclohexen zu Cyclohexan und Isopropanol hin deutlich zu. Bei Bestrahlung in Isopropanol oder Cyclohexan entstehen als Hauptprodukte (1-(4-Chlor--propylphenethyl)-1H-1, 2,4-triazol (2) und 5H,6H-(1,2,4-Triazolo)-[5,1,-a]-9-chlor-6-propyl-isochinolin (3). Photodehalogenierung von 3 führt in geringem Umfang zu 5H,6H-(1,2,4-Triazo-lo)-[5, 1-a]-6-propyl-isochinolin(4) und in Gegenwart von Isopropanol zu 5H,6H-(1,2,4-Triazolo)-[5,1-a]-9-(2-hydroxy-2-methylethyl)-6-propyl-isochinolin (5) als Photoadditionsprodukt. Daneben entsteht in hohem Ausmaß eine komplexe Fraktion polarer Komponenten, die einer Einzelisolierung und -charakterisierung nicht mehr zugänglich waren. In Cyclohexen hingegen erfolgte neben Photodehalogenierung zu2 hauptsächlich Photolyse zu polaren Komponenten, während Photoprodukt3 nur in Spuren entstand.
