Collocation methods are developed for the solution of some differential equation models for transport phenomena problems in one-and two-dimensions in co-axial annuli of spherical and cylindrical shapes. General formulae are developed to obtain orthogonal polynomials over an arbitrary interval using two types of weighting functions. The convergence and accuracy of the methods are demonstrated using two test problems, i.e., calculation of effectiveness factors in (a) a spherical pellet with peripherally deposited catalyst and (b) a Raschig ring type cylindrical catalyst pellet. Comparisons of results obtained from the present methods with analytic solutions for the first-order reactions indicate good agreement. Numerical solutions are also obtained for the second-and the third-order reactions for which analytic solutions are not available. Results obtained in terms of a new Thiele modulus involving the ratio of volume of peripherally deposited part of catalyst to exterior surface area indicate that this normalization brings effectiveness factor versus Thiele modulus curves close together for co-axial spherical and long cylindrical pellets, as it does for these geometries without the inner co-axial portion.  相似文献

In this paper, three new Gramians are introduced namely ‐ limited‐time interval impulse response Gramians (LTIRG), generalized limited‐time Gramians (GLTG) and generalized limited‐time impulse response Gramians (GLTIRG). GLTG and GLTIRG are applicable to both unstable systems and also to systems which have eigenvalues of opposite polarities and equal magnitude. The concept of these Gramians is utilized to develop model reduction algorithms for linear time‐invariant continuous‐time single‐input single‐output (SISO) systems. In the cases of GLTIRG and GLTG based model reduction, the standard time‐limited Gramians are generalized to be applied to unstable systems by transforming the original system into a new system which requires the solution of two Riccati equations. Two numerical examples are included to illustrate the proposed methods. The results are also compared with standard techniques.  相似文献

The technological, economic, and environmental benefits of photovoltaic (PV) systems have led to their widespread adoption in recent years as a source of electricity generation. However, precisely identifying a PV system''s maximum power point (MPP) under normal and shaded weather conditions is crucial to conserving the maximum generated power. One of the biggest concerns with a PV system is the existence of partial shading, which produces multiple peaks in the P–V characteristic curve. In these circumstances, classical maximum power point tracking (MPPT) approaches are prone to getting stuck on local peaks and failing to follow the global maximum power point (GMPP). To overcome such obstacles, a new Lyapunov-based Robust Model Reference Adaptive Controller (LRMRAC) is designed and implemented to reach GMPP rapidly and ripple-free. The proposed controller also achieves MPP accurately under slow, abrupt and rapid changes in radiation, temperature and load profile. Simulation and OPAL-RT real-time simulators in various scenarios are performed to verify the superiority of the proposed approach over the other state-of-the-art methods, i.e., ANFIS, INC, VSPO, and P&O. MPP and GMPP are accomplished in less than 3.8 ms and 10 ms, respectively. Based on the results presented, the LRMRAC controller appears to be a promising technique for MPPT in a PV system.  相似文献

This paper investigates the resource allocation in a massively deployed user cognitive radio enabled non-orthogonal multiple access (CR-NOMA) network considering the downlink scenario. The system performance deteriorates with the number of users who are experiencing similar channel characteristics from the base station (BS) in NOMA. To address this challenge, we propose a framework for maximizing the system throughput that is based on one-to-one matching game theory integrated with the machine learning technique. The proposed approach is decomposed to solve users clustering and power allocation subproblems. The selection of optimal cluster heads (CHs) and their associated cluster members is based on Gale-Shapley matching game theoretical model with the application of Hungarian method. The CHs can harvest energy from the BS and transfer their surplus power to the primary user (PU) through wireless power transfer. In return, they are allowed to access the licensed band for secondary transmission. The power allocation to the users intended for power conservation at CHs is formulated as a probabilistic constraint, which is then solved by employing the support vector machine (SVM) algorithm. The simulation results demonstrate the efficacy of our proposed schemes that enable the CHs to transfer the residual power while ensuring maximum system throughput. The effects of different parameters on the performance are also studied.  相似文献

The superconducting properties of Nb2PdS5 superconductor have been investigated with Ni doping at Pd site All the bulk polycrystalline Nb2Pd1?xNix S 5 (0 = x ≤ 0.10) samples are crystallized in singlephase monoclinic structure. The electrical resistivity and magnetic measurements of Nb2Pd1?xNix S 5 (0 = x ≤ 0.15) were carried out to study the variation of superconducting critical parameters with Ni doping. Superconductivity in Nb2PdS5 sample completely disappears for x ≥ 0.15. We observed that the ratio of upper critical field to transition temperature decreases with increasing Ni concentration. Also, the magnetization study of Nb2Pd1?xNix S 5 (0 = x ≤ 0.15) samples shows similar superconducting behaviour. In summary, the superconductivity in Nb2PdS5 sample is slightly varying with partial doping of Ni at Pd site in Nb2PdS5 superconductor.  相似文献

Cotton fibres coated with biogenically fabricated silver nanoparticles (SNPs) are most sought material because of their enhanced activity and biocompatibility. After successful synthesis of SNPs on cotton fibres using leaf extract of Vitex negundo Linn, the fibres were studied using diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, nanoparticle tracking analysis, energy dispersive X‐ray, and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry. The characterisation revealed uniformly distributed spherical agglomerates of SNPs having individual particle size around 50 nm with the deposition load of 423 μg of silver per gram of cotton. Antimicrobial assay of cotton–SNPs fibres showed effective performance against pathogenic bacteria and fungi. A new kind of molecularly imprinted polymer-modified graphite electrode was fabricated by “grafting-to” approach, incorporating sol–gel technique, for the detection of acute deficiency in serum ascorbic acid level (SAAL), manifesting hypovitaminosis C. The modified electrode exhibited ascorbic acid (AA) oxidation at less positive potential (0.0 V) than the earlier reported methods, resulting in a limit of detection as low as 6.13 ng mL−1 (RSD = 1.2%, S/N = 3). The diffusion coefficient (1.096 × 10−5 cm2 s−1), rate constant (7.308 s−1), and Gibb's free energy change (−12.59 kJ mol−1) due to analyte adsorption, were also calculated to explore the kinetics of AA oxidation. The proposed sensor was found to enhance sensitivity substantially so as to detect ultra trace level of AA in the presence of other biologically important compounds (dopamine, uric acid, etc.), without any cross interference and matrix complications from biological fluids and pharmaceutical samples.  相似文献
