Most studies of patents citations focus on national or international contexts, especially contexts of high absorptive capacity,
and employ examiner citations. We argue that results can vary if we take the region as the context of analysis, especially
if it is a region with low absorptive capacity, and if we study applicant citations and examiner-inserted citations separately.
Using a sample from the Valencian Community (Spain), we conclude that (i) the use of examiner-inserted citations as a proxy
for applicant citations, (ii) the interpretation of non-patent references as indicators of science-industry links, and (iii)

Palm olein is currently considered to be one of the best options for deep-frying, but as with any other edible oil, during frying, deteriorative reactions produce off-flavor compounds that reduce the oil sensory quality. This study assessed the odor significance of the volatiles formed during 136 h of deep-frying a chicken product in palm olein, aiming to identify potential markers of the oil sensory quality during frying. The volatiles were isolated by solid phase microextraction, and identified by GC–MS. Trained judges assessed the odor intensity and quality of the volatiles formed during frying, evaluating the GC effluents through a GC–olfactometry technique called OSME. Two hundred and eight volatiles were detected by GC/MS in the palm olein after 136 h frying. Of these, heptanal, t-2-heptenal, decanal and t-2-undecenal were identified as potential markers of the sensory quality of palm olein during frying. Hexanal, pentanal and pentane, usually associated with lipid oxidation, showed no odor impact in the GC effluents, and were thus proven not to be good markers of the sensory quality of palm olein when used for a long frying period. 相似文献

In this paper, we identify and propose solutions for several issues encountered when designing a mesh adaptation package, such as mesh‐to‐mesh projections and mesh database design, and we describe an algorithm to integrate a mesh adaptation procedure in a physics solver. The open‐source MAdLib package is presented as an example of such a mesh adaptation library. A new technique combining global node repositioning and mesh optimization in order to perform arbitrarily large deformations is also proposed. We then present several test cases to evaluate the performances of the proposed techniques and to show their applicability to fluid–structure interaction problems with arbitrarily large deformations. Several rheological properties of concentrated mandarin juice were investigated, quantifying thixotropic behaviour and fitting experimental data to the Hahn, Weltman, and Figoni–Shoemaker equations. The latter one proved best for modelling the time dependency response. Pseudoplastic behaviour fitted well with the Herschel–Bulkley model in the interval between ?12 and 6 °C, in which yield stress and the flow behaviour index scarcely changed with temperature. The consistency coefficient and apparent viscosity both decreased as temperature increased. Fitting these consistency data to the Arrhenius‐type equation, a value of 33 kJ mol?1 for activation energy was obtained. Concentrated mandarin juice displayed viscoelastic properties in the temperature range between ?12 and 6 °C, with the elastic character (determined by the juice’s pectin content) predominating over the viscous nature at low frequency values, but with this behaviour being inverted for high values. Through the natural evolutionary process, organisms have been improving amazing mineralized materials for a series of functions using a relatively few constituent elements. Biomineralization has been widely studied in the last years. It is important to understand how minerals are produced by organisms and also their structure and the corresponding relationship with the properties and function. Moreover, one can look at minerals as a tool that could be used to develop high performance materials, through design inspiration and to find novel processing routes functioning at mild conditions of temperature, pressure and solvent type. As important as the molecular constituents are structural factors, which include the existence of different levels of organization and controlled orientation. Moreover, the way how the hierarchical levels are linked and interfacial features plays also a major role in the final behavior of the biogenic composite. The main aim of this work is to review the latest contributions that have been reported on composite materials produced in nature, and to relate their structures at different length scales to their main functions and properties. There is also an interest in developing new biomimetic procedures that could induce the production of calcium phosphate coatings, similar to bone apatite in substrates for biomedical applications, namely in orthopedic implants and scaffolds for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine; this topic will be also addressed. Finally, we also review the latest proposed approaches to develop novel synthetic materials and coatings inspired from natural-based nanocomposites. 相似文献
