In image-guided therapy, high-quality preoperative images serve for planning and simulation, and intraoperatively as "background", onto which models of surgical instruments or radiation beams are projected. The link between a preoperative image and intraoperative physical space of the patient is established by image-to-patient registration. In this paper, we present a novel 3-D/2-D registration method. First, a 3-D image is reconstructed from a few 2-D X-ray images and next, the preoperative 3-D image is brought into the best possible spatial correspondence with the reconstructed image by optimizing a similarity measure (SM). Because the quality of the reconstructed image is generally low, we introduce a novel SM, which is able to cope with low image quality as well as with different imaging modalities. The novel 3-D/2-D registration method has been evaluated and compared to the gradient-based method (GBM) using standardized evaluation methodology and publicly available 3-D computed tomography (CT), 3-D rotational X-ray (3DRX), and magnetic resonance (MR) and 2-D X-ray images of two spine phantoms, for which gold standard registrations were known. For each of the 3DRX, CT, or MR images and each set of X-ray images, 1600 registrations were performed from starting positions, defined as the mean target registration error (mTRE), randomly generated and uniformly distributed in the interval of 0-20 mm around the gold standard. The capture range was defined as the distance from gold standard for which the final TRE was less than 2 mm in at least 95% of all cases. In terms of success rate, as the function of initial misalignment and capture range the proposed method outperformed the GBM. TREs of the novel method and the GBM were approximately the same. For the registration of 3DRX and CT images to X-ray images as few as 2-3 X-ray views were sufficient to obtain approximately 0.4 mm TREs, 7-9 mm capture range, and 80%-90% of successful registrations. To obtain similar results for MR to X-ray registrations, an image, reconstructed from at least 11 X-ray images was required. Reconstructions from more than 11 images had no effect on the registration results.  相似文献

The ultrasonic thickness measurement is the most commonly performed technique as a part of quality management of systems and constructions. The paper carries out a study of the couplant impact on the wall thickness ultrasonic measurement results. Experimental samples are made from the steel grade S355J0. By performing a theoretical and experimental analysis, it estimates that there exists a significant effect of the particular parameters of the ultrasound transducer, the couplants type and their interactions on the thickness measurement results. An experiment scheme and the appropriate methodology for experimental results analyses create the preconditions for the assessment of the influence of the couplant type, material thickness and the parameters of ultrasound probe to the measurement uncertainty.  相似文献

Predicate abstraction has emerged to be a powerful technique for extracting finite-state models from infinite-state systems, and has been recently shown to enhance the effectiveness of the reachability computation techniques for hybrid systems. Given a hybrid system with linear dynamics and a set of linear predicates, the verifier performs an on-the-fly search of the finite discrete quotient whose states correspond to the truth assignments to the input predicates. The success of this approach depends on the choice of the predicates used for abstraction. In this paper, we focus on identifying these predicates automatically by analyzing spurious counterexamples generated by the search in the abstract state-space. We present the basic techniques for discovering new predicates that will rule out closely related spurious counterexamples, optimizations of these techniques, implementation of these in the verification tool, and case studies demonstrating the promise of the approach.  相似文献

Radiation and thermal curing of unsaturated polyester resins with styrene were investigated by combining differential thermal analysis with electric and mechanical relaxation techniques. A microprocessor controlled combined relaxation equipment of special construction was used. By radiation initiated curing the reaction was interrupted at different stages and the products were analyzed. Relaxation and simultaneous differential thermal measurements were also made during the course of gamma radiation and peroxide initiated thermal curing. By this way the shift of the characteristic transitions of the resin as a function of conversion could be studied. Also the change of the phase-structure of the resin caused by the reaction was monitored. By deconvolution of the dielectric spectrum band the physical structure was found to become heterogeneous by crosslinking. Besides the shift of the transition temperatures the oscillator strength of the dielectric transition was found to decrease with conversion. Electrical polarization and depolarization studies were also performed. A special intermittent load thermomechanical technique was used for separating elastic from viscous response of the sample subjected to external mechanical force. The transitions exhibited by the thermomechanical curves were found to shift to higher temperatures by crosslinking and the compliance plateaus decreased.  相似文献

Medical image acquisition devices provide a vast amount of anatomical and functional information, which facilitate and improve diagnosis and patient treatment, especially when supported by modern quantitative image analysis methods. However, modality specific image artifacts, such as the phenomena of intensity inhomogeneity in magnetic resonance images (MRI), are still prominent and can adversely affect quantitative image analysis. In this paper, numerous methods that have been developed to reduce or eliminate intensity inhomogeneities in MRI are reviewed. First, the methods are classified according to the inhomogeneity correction strategy. Next, different qualitative and quantitative evaluation approaches are reviewed. Third, 60 relevant publications are categorized according to several features and analyzed so as to reveal major trends, popularity, evaluation strategies and applications. Finally, key evaluation issues and future development of the inhomogeneity correction field, supported by the results of the analysis, are discussed.  相似文献
