Small vessel strokes (SVS) and intracerebral haemorrhages (ICH) are acute outcomes of cerebral small vessel disease (SVD). Genetic studies combining both phenotypes have identified three loci associated with both traits. However, the genetic cis-regulation at the protein level associated with SVD has not been studied before. We performed a proteome-wide association study (PWAS) using FUSION to integrate a genome-wide association study (GWAS) and brain proteomic data to discover the common mechanisms regulating both SVS and ICH. Dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (dPFC) brain proteomes from the ROS/MAP study (N = 376 subjects and 1443 proteins) and the summary statistics for the SVS GWAS from the MEGASTROKE study (N = 237,511) and multi-trait analysis of GWAS (MTAG)-ICH–SVS from Chung et al. (N = 240,269) were selected. We performed PWAS and then a co-localization analysis with COLOC. The significant and nominal results were validated using a replication dPFC proteome (N = 152). The replicated results (q-value < 0.05) were further investigated for the causality relationship using summary data-based Mendelian randomization (SMR). One protein (ICA1L) was significantly associated with SVS (z-score = −4.42 and p-value = 9.6 × 10−6) and non-lobar ICH (z-score = −4.8 and p-value = 1.58 × 10−6) in the discovery PWAS, with a high co-localization posterior probability of 4. In the validation PWAS, ICA1L remained significantly associated with both traits. The SMR results for ICA1L indicated a causal association of protein expression levels in the brain with SVS (p-value = 3.66 × 10−5) and non-lobar ICH (p-value = 1.81 × 10−5). Our results show that the association of ICA1L with SVS and non-lobar ICH is conditioned by the cis-regulation of its protein levels in the brain. 相似文献

In order to determine the deformation modes in AZ31 magnesium alloy at room temperature, computer simulations of deformation
texture development and calculation of formability have been carried out. The simulation results were compared with the measured
texture results. Based on agreement between the experiments and simulations the active deformation modes were determined.
A Visco Plastic Self Consistent model was employed for the simulation of plastic deformation. Simulations and experiments
were performed for different initial textures. The goal of the study was to develop the understanding of deformation texture
evolution and its effects on mechanical properties of magnesium, with an ultimate goal of improving room temperature formability
of magnesium alloys.

A process of plasma‐initiated grafting of acrylic acid on commercial porous polypropylene membrane was studied. The influence of parameters of the plasma (power, gas pressure, time plasma‐sample distance, sample arrangement) and grafting (solvent composition, monomer concentration, time, inhibitor presence) on the degree of grafting, amount of homopolymer produced and surface electrical resistance was determined. A degree of grafting up to 18 mmol/g was obtained, which resulted in sample resistance as low as 30 mΩ cm2. The molecular weight of AAc homopolymer that can be assumed as equal to the MW of grafted chains, ranged from 25,000 to 50,000,000 da. SEM and water permeability measurements show that grafting causes filling of the pores, which, however, does not stop K+ ions from penetrating the membrane. Thin films are important in a variety of applications, including optical, magnetic,and electronic devices. The origin of microstructure in films formed by physical vapor deposition depends primarily on the homologous deposition temperature, which determines the grain structure and substructure. Texture is coupled to grain structure development through several kinetic parameters, principally surface diffusivity and interfacial energy. The representation of such fiber textures is facilitated by simplified pole intensity versus tilt angle plots rather than entire pole figures. The reliability of thin film interconnection materials such as aluminum alloys is heavily leveraged on both texture and grain structure. The properties of thin magnetic films depend on both the crystallographic texture and the grain shape anisotropy. 相似文献

Batch leaching tests have been performed on fly ashes collected from four Australian power stations fuelled by chemically different coals. Two acidic and two alkaline fly ashes were subjected to long-term (144 h) leaching tests, and the behaviour of As, B, Mo and Se was investigated to obtain data on their potential for mobilisation during fly ash-water interactions. All four elements are mobile under different conditions and over different leaching times. The concentrations of these elements released in leaching solutions with initial pH values of 4, 7 and 10 were used to assess the influence of pH conditions on element mobility from the acidic and alkaline fly ashes. The most mobile of the four elements leached were Mo from alkaline fly ashes and B from acidic fly ashes. Arsenic concentration increased with time in leachate solutions from acidic and alkaline fly ashes; however, in solutions in contact with alkaline fly ashes the As concentration, after reaching a maximum, later decreased with time. Selenium mobility shows a similar pattern to that of As, with similar leaching concentrations. Boron has the highest relative mobility of all four elements. A process possibly responsible for the decrease in concentration of B, As and Se in alkaline leaching solutions is the formation of ettringite. Equilibrium between the solid phase (ash) and the leaching solution was not reached in any of the leaching experiments. Since the publication of Loftus and Masson’s (1994) method for computing confidence intervals (CIs) in repeated-measures (RM) designs, there has been uncertainty about how to apply it to particular effects in complex factorial designs. Masson and Loftus (2003) proposed that RM CIs for factorial designs be based on number of observations rather than number of participants. However, determining the correct number of observations for a particular effect can be complicated, given the variety of effects occurring in factorial designs. In this paper the authors define a general “number of observations” principle, explain why it obtains, and provide step-by-step instructions for constructing CIs for various effect types.
