We have investigated gate oxide degradation in metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) devices as a function of high-field constant-current stress for charge injection from both gate and substrate. The two polarities are asymmetric: gate injection, where the substrate Si-SiO2 interface is the collecting electrode for the energetic electrons, shows a higher rate of interface-state generation (ΔDit) and lower charge-to-breakdown Qbd. Thus the collecting electrode interface, which suffers primary damage, emerges as a critical degradation site in addition to the injecting electrode interface, which has been the traditional focus. Consistent with a physical-damage model of breakdown, we demonstrate that interfacial degradation is an important precursor of breakdown, and that the nature of breakdown-related damage is physical, such as trap-generation by broken bonds  相似文献

Human herpesvirus type 6 DNA derived from human breath was discovered to contaminate PCR reactions during routine reaction preparation. Parallel PCR experiments were conducted in which expiratory secretions were blocked by a surgical mask, while others were performed without any attempt to circumvent respiratory contamination. The experimenter was previously determined to harbor HHV-6 DNA in the saliva. All reactions in which expiration was obstructed were negative for HHV-6 DNA via PCR. Reactions in which there was no attempt to obstruct respiratory secretions were positive for HHV-6 DNA. These data suggest that PCR assays investigating the presence of HHV-6 may be highly susceptible to contamination from the experimenter leading to false positive results.  相似文献

The susceptibility of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium avium-intracellulare to the disinfections used for spillage and heat sensitive instruments has received much attention in recent years. The use of clinical isolates of M. tuberculosis and M. avium-intracellulare as test organisms is considered unsuitable for standard tests due to their hazardous nature (category 3 pathogens and slow growth rates). This has led to much debate in standards committees on the selection and use of a possible surrogate which would be safer and more practical to use and yet mimic the susceptibility of clinical isolates. This study compared the susceptibility of one possible surrogate Mycobacterium terrae NCTC 10856, with that of clinical isolates of M. tuberculosis H37 Rv and M. avium-intracellulare using a quantitative suspension test. The instrument and environmental disinfectants tested were a chlorine-releasing agent, sodium dichloroisocyanyurate (NaDCC) at 1000 ppm and 10,000 ppm av. Cl, chlorine dioxide at 1100 ppm av. ClO2 (Tristel, HayMan MediChem), 0.35% peracetic acid (NuCidex, Johnson & Johnson), 70% industrial methylated spirit (IMS), 2% alkaline glutaraldehyde (Asep, Galen), 10% succine dialdehyde and formaldehyde mixture (Gigasept, Schulke and Mayr). Results showed that the clinical isolate of M. avium-intracellulare was the most resistant of the three test organisms. M. terrae, which is not a category 3 pathogen, was slightly more resistant than M. tuberculosis and this would appear to be a suitable surrogate for establishing tuberculocidal activity. However, with an increase in the clinical significance of M. avium-intracellulare, particularly in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and immunocompromised patients, a more resistant surrogate is required. In the absence of such a surrogate, testing with M. avium-intracellulare in a clinical laboratory equipped for handling category 3 pathogens is still advised to establish mycobactericidal activity.  相似文献

Flavobacterium aurantiacum NRRL B-184 possesses the ability to degrade aflatoxin B1 in solution and in several food items. Aflatoxin B1 is a potent carcinogen that causes significant economic losses to the agricultural and food industry. The role of trace metal ions (Cu2+, Mn2+, Zn2+, and Co2+) were studied in an effort to understand the enzymatic system involved in aflatoxin B1 degradation by F aurantiacum. The effect of divalent chelators (EDTA and 1,10-phenanthroline [OPT]) in the presence of the trace metal ions was studied as well. Aflatoxin B1 (10 microg/ml) was added to 72-h cultures of F aurantiacum that had been washed and resuspended in phosphate buffer (pH 7.0). HPLC was used to determine aflatoxin B1 concentration in these cultures. Incubating cells at 30 degrees C with 1 and 10 mM Cu2+, Mn2+, and Zn2+ significantly decreased aflatoxin B degradation after 4 and 24 h (P < 0.05). Decreased degradation was also observed with 1 and 10 mM Cu2+ and Zn2+ after 48 h and with 0.1 mM Cu2+ after 24 and 48 h. Co2+ did not have a significant effect on aflatoxin B1 degradation. EDTA and OPT did not counter the inhibition in the presence of Cu2+. The addition of 1 mM EDTA countered the inhibition by 1 mM Mn2+ after 4 and 24 h, but 1 mM OPT did not counter the inhibition by 10 mM Mn2+ after 4 and 24 h. OPT countered the inhibition by 1 mM Zn2+ after 4 and 48 h. These trace elements inhibit aflatoxin B1 degradation by F aurantiacum. In addition, their presence necessitates higher concentrations (>1 mM) of EDTA and OPT for the removal of their inhibitory effect.  相似文献

In the field of fuzzy modeling, the Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model has been used to approximate accurately the dynamics of complex plants. The paper addresses two control design problems associated with state-space realizations of such fuzzy models. First, we treat the stability robustness of fuzzy model-based controllers against modeling uncertainty. Second, we develop observer-based control schemes and further investigate the behavior of estimated-state feedback. In both cases, we provide sufficient conditions that guarantee stability of the closed loop. The results are demonstrated on the fuzzy model of a gas furnace process  相似文献

The solution structure of a synthetic ET(B) selective agonist, ET-1[Cys(Acm)(1,15), Ala3, Leu7, dAsp8, Aib11] has been solved by 1H NMR and molecular modelling studies. Such solution structures of linear modified peptides in aqueous methanol are being used in an ongoing program of research designed to assist in an understanding of the basic structural requirements for the biological activity of vasoconstrictors. The resulting structure of this peptide is characterised by an alpha-helical conformation between residues Leu6-His16 and by N- and C-termini which assume no defined conformation. A knowledge of the solution structures of this and related peptides, which are ET(B) selective agonists, are proving to be important in the understanding of how they interact with the ET(B) receptor.  相似文献

The Gmicro/500, which features a RISC-like dual-pipeline structure for high-speed execution of basic instructions and represents a significant advance for the TRON architecture, is presented. Upwardly-object-compatible with earlier members of the Gmicro series, this microprocessor uses resident dedicated branch buffers to greatly enhance branch instruction execution speed. Its microprograms simultaneously use dual execution blocks to execute high-level language instructions effectively. Fabricated with a 0.6-μm CMOS technology on a 10.9-mm×16-mm die, the chip operates at 50/66 MHz and achieves a processing rate of 100/132 MIPS  相似文献

The magnetomechanical effect for a quenched and tempered alloy steel has been studied. In most published work it has been found that stress causes the magnetization to move toward the anhysteretic magnetization. However, in the present work it was found that under special conditions the magnetization moves away from the anhysteretic when a cyclic stress is applied.
