Effects of the type and amount of fatty acid (0-2.0 mmol/g-starch of lauric, myristic, palmitic, stearic, oleic, and linoleic acids) on the complex formation, thermal properties, and in-vitro digestibility of gelatinized potato starch-fatty acid mixtures were investigated. Complex index (CI) evaluated by the reduction in the iodine binding capacity of starch increased with an increase in the amount of fatty acids, and reached a plateau depending on the type of fatty acid. The maximum CI value was higher in the order of lauric (49.9%), linoleic (47.6%), myristic (42.4%), oleic (36.7%), stearic (35.3%), and palmitic acid (30.9%). From the calorimetric study, it was demonstrated that melting temperature of the complexes was higher in the order of stearic (96.7 °C) > lauric, myristic, palmitic, and oleic (89.6-92.1 °C) > linoleic acid (78.3 °C). Melting enthalpy for complexes was roughly related to the CI value (R2 = 0.667). From the in-vitro digestibility measurement, it was found that a certain amount of fatty acid reduced the starch content hydrolyzed at a given condition. Among them, 0.50 mmol/g-starch lauric and oleic acid samples showed the largest reduction in the hydrolyzed starch content. This result was related to the extent of complex formation characterized by CI value and its helical order characterized by melting temperature. In addition, there was a possibility of the complex formation between amylose and unsaturated fatty acid during the hydrolysis of gelatinized starch.  相似文献

The rate of BrO3- reduction by a commercial TiO2 photocatalyst under UV illumination in an aqueous solution was increased by lowering the pH from 7 to 5. The effect is attributable to an enhancement of the electrical interaction between BrO3- and the positively charged surfaces of the TiO2 photocatalyst. The surface charge can be controlled by a surface modification of the TiO2 photocatalyst without controlling the pH of the water. In fact, the isoelectric point of surface-modified TiO2 was higher than that of the unloaded TiO2 photocatalyst, resulting in an increase in the rate of the photocatalytic reduction of BrO3- at a neutral pH. This increase is explained by an increase in the amount of adsorbed BrO3- on the photocatalyst surface.  相似文献

Both non-immune “natural” and antigen-induced “immune” IgM are important for protection against pathogens and for regulation of immune responses to self-antigens. Since the bona fide IgM Fc receptor (FcµR) was identified in humans by a functional cloning strategy in 2009, the roles of FcµR in these IgM effector functions have begun to be explored. In this short essay, we describe the differences between human and mouse FcµRs in terms of their identification processes, cellular distributions and ligand binding activities with emphasis on our recent findings from the mutational analysis of human FcµR. We have identified at least three sites of human FcµR, i.e., Asn66 in the CDR2, Lys79 to Arg83 in the DE loop and Asn109 in the CDR3, responsible for its constitutive IgM-ligand binding. Results of computational structural modeling analysis are consistent with these mutational data and a model of the ligand binding, Ig-like domain of human FcµR is proposed. Serendipitously, substitution of Glu41 and Met42 in the CDR1 of human FcµR with mouse equivalents Gln and Leu, either single or more prominently in combination, enhances both the receptor expression and IgM binding. These findings would help in the future development of preventive and therapeutic interventions targeting FcµR.  相似文献

KIT is a type-III receptor tyrosine kinase that contributes to cell signaling in various cells. Since KIT is activated by overexpression or mutation and plays an important role in the development of some cancers, such as gastrointestinal stromal tumors and mast cell disease, molecular therapies targeting KIT mutations are being developed. In acute myeloid leukemia (AML), genome profiling via next-generation sequencing has shown that several genes that are mutated in patients with AML impact patients’ prognosis. Moreover, it was suggested that precision-medicine-based treatment using genomic data will improve treatment outcomes for AML patients. This paper presents (1) previous studies regarding the role of KIT mutations in AML, (2) the data in AML with KIT mutations from the HM-SCREEN-Japan-01 study, a genome profiling study for patients newly diagnosed with AML who are unsuitable for the standard first-line treatment (unfit) or have relapsed/refractory AML, and (3) new therapies targeting KIT mutations, such as tyrosine kinase inhibitors and heat shock protein 90 inhibitors. In this era when genome profiling via next-generation sequencing is becoming more common, KIT mutations are attractive novel molecular targets in AML.  相似文献

A definition of a burst error channel using a Markov model was presented by T. Sato et al. in a previous paper (1991). A throughput analysis method of hybrid automatic repeat request (ARQ) under the burst error channel using the three-state Markov model is described. The hybrid ARQ is studied for the random and burst error correction codes as the forward error correction (FEC) code, and multiframe rejection (MREJ) as the ARQ. The throughput efficiency is obtained with both an infinite buffer memory and a finite buffer memory. The applicable range of the burst error channel is clarified for the hybrid ARQ using random and burst error correction codes  相似文献

Macrophage scavenger receptors mediate the recognition of a wide range of negatively charged macromolecules including acetylated low density lipoproteins (AcLDL). Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells were cultured in the presence of increasing concentrations of simvastatin, a cholesterol biosynthesis inhibitor, and AcLDL as the sole source of exogenous lipoproteins. The cells surviving under these conditions specifically bound 125I-labeled AcLDL with high affinity and degraded them via an endocytic pathway. Unexpectedly, the association and degradation of 125I-labeled AcLDL by these CHO cells were not inhibited by dextran sulfate, fucoidan, and polyinosinic acid, competitors of macrophage scavenger receptors, but were completely inhibited by maleylated bovine serum albumin. Furthermore, these cells effectively took up negatively charged liposomes containing acidic phospholipids such as phosphatidylserine and phosphatidic acid, whereas CHO cells expressing macrophage scavenger receptors did not. AcLDL and negatively charged liposomes were cross-competed with each other. Northern blot analysis using the cDNA for the macrophage scavenger receptor revealed that these CHO cells did not express this receptor. From these observations, we conclude that the isolated CHO cells express a novel type of AcLDL receptor, which is distinct from macrophage scavenger receptors with respect to ligand specificity and competitor sensitivity.  相似文献

Carbon-doped TiO2 thin films in the anatase phase with dopant concentrations of 1.1, 0.9, and 0.7 mol% were fabricated by a radio-frequency magnetron sputtering method. Dopant carbons were located at the oxygen sites. Carbon substitution caused the absorbance edge and/or the shoulder of TiO2 to shift to a higher wavelength region. Carbon-doped TiO2 thin films underwent a hydrophilic conversion when irradiating with visible light (400–530 nm). The hydrophilic property under visible light was inferior to that under ultraviolet light, which is explained by considering that the visible light sensitivity originates from the localized C 2p formed in the band-gap.  相似文献

A high-speed and error-free voiceband data communication method using a hybrid automatic repeat request (ARQ) protocol over an analog cellular system is described. The present method adopts an adaptive error control scheme. This error control scheme automatically selects the optimal error correction code according to circuit bit error rate (BER), so as to match it to the frequently changing mobile radio propagation path conditions. This method adopts multiframe rejection as a retransmission scheme for a high throughput efficiency on the burst error circuit. Actual field evaluation was made by mounting this protocol on a CCITT V.22 bis modem with a data transmission speed of 2400 b/s and a modulation method using 16 carrier states over the Advanced Mobile Phone Service (AMPS) in Atlanta, GA, verifying that data communications can be achieved with an average throughput efficiency of 70% over a radio channel having a BER up to 10-2  相似文献
