We have reported that the alternating current (ac) losses in a 66 kVrms 3-core high-TC superconducting (HTS) transmission cable fabricated by Tokyo Electric Power Company and Sumitomo Electric Industries Ltd. are calculated correctly by using an electric-circuit model. According to the calculated results, the circumferential field losses are dominant in the total ac losses in compared with the self-field losses and the axial-field losses. The helical pitches of each layer in the HTS cable are designed to obtain almost same layer currents, which gives the minimum self-field losses. We think that the optimum helical pitches giving the minimum total losses are different from the helical pitches designed by the companies and calculate the optimum values in the condition of the same helical direction of each layer in the cable. As a result, for example, it is found that the ac loss of 2.1 W m−1 cc−1 at transporting 1 kArms can be reduced to 1.8 W m−1 cc−1 (about 14% reductions) after redesigning the cable with the optimum helical pitches. The optimum helical pitches are obtained for each given transport current. After redesigning, the distribution of layer currents is not uniform and the circumferential fields are reduced.  相似文献

The low threshold current of 9 mA, the high side-mode suppression ratio of more than 45 dB, the extremely narrow spectral linewidth of 1.1 MHz, and the low chirping of 2.8 Å at -20 dB at 2 Gb/s nonreturn to zero (NRZ) modulation have been achieved in the multiple quantum well (MQW) distributed feedback (DFB) p-substrate partially inverted buried heterostructure (PPIBH) laser diode. The spectral linewidth of 1.1 MHz is the narrowest value among 300-μm-length solitary laser diodes. These results suggest that the MQW-DFB laser diodes are a promising light source for longer distance and higher bit-rate optical communication systems and coherent optical communication systems  相似文献

We examined whether sulfated hyaluronan exerts inhibitory effects on enzymatic and biological actions of heparanase, a sole endo-beta-glucuronidase implicated in cancer malignancy and inflammation. Degradation of heparan sulfate by human and mouse heparanase was inhibited by sulfated hyaluronan. In particular, high-sulfated hyaluronan modified with approximately 2.5 sulfate groups per disaccharide unit effectively inhibited the enzymatic activity at a lower concentration than heparin. Human and mouse heparanase bound to immobilized sulfated hyaluronan. Invasion of heparanase-positive colon-26 cells and 4T1 cells under 3D culture conditions was significantly suppressed in the presence of high-sulfated hyaluronan. Heparanase-induced release of CCL2 from colon-26 cells was suppressed in the presence of sulfated hyaluronan via blocking of cell surface binding and subsequent intracellular NF-κB-dependent signaling. The inhibitory effect of sulfated hyaluronan is likely due to competitive binding to the heparanase molecule, which antagonizes the heparanase-substrate interaction. Fragment molecular orbital calculation revealed a strong binding of sulfated hyaluronan tetrasaccharide to the heparanase molecule based on electrostatic interactions, particularly characterized by interactions of (−1)- and (−2)-positioned sulfated sugar residues with basic amino acid residues composing the heparin-binding domain-1 of heparanase. These results propose a relevance for sulfated hyaluronan in the blocking of heparanase-mediated enzymatic and cellular actions.  相似文献

The respective influences of calcination, drying methods, and washing conditions on the morphologies, surface properties, and photocatalytic activities of TiO2 powders prepared from acid treatments of BaTiO3 were investigated. Rutile powder was obtained using the treatment under strong acid conditions. It possesses a bundle-like shape and comprises rutile nanorods. After calcination, characteristic voids were observed in the particles. Anatase powder was obtained by adjusting pH values of a BaTiO3 suspension to 2.5-3. Drying at 110 °C engendered the formation of spheroidal anatase, although freeze-dried anatase particles assembled into a flake-like shape. The freeze-dried samples show lower crystallinity. With grafting Cu ions, rutile exhibited better photocatalytic performance for the decomposition of gaseous 2-propanol (IPA) under visible light, although it did not work effectively for anatase.  相似文献

For instance, the users will come up against the chance to handle imprecise data in real life with their computers more than ever. Therefore, solutions for easily developing fuzzy systems are strongly needed. In response to this need, many studies have been done in the fuzzy database area because fuzzy retrieval is one of the suitable ways to deal with those kind of data. In this article, the development of a fuzzy retrieval system which can be used on a personal computer is described, especially from an industrial point of view. The anisotropy of continuous fiber thermoplastic composites limits the number of geometries that can be employed effectively in dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). Therefore, a Mechanical Energy Resolver, developed for use with elastomers, was modified with a bending fixture using a cantilever beam sample geometry and a high temperature oven. The bending fixture allows determination of composite transition temperatures. Based upon the simple geometry, one can also determine elastic moduli. This test scheme can be coupled with simple shear DMA on melts to determine neat resin properties, including solidification temperature. Results are presented for several semicrystalline and armorphous thermoplastic/graphite fiber laminates and neat resins.  相似文献

Even a zero-power reactor core containing highly enriched uranium has a weak neutron source inherent in uranium 235, and consequently, a neutron counter placed closely to the core without external neutron source registers a certain counting rate. The study of the counting is very important for zero-power reactor physics experiments with a high precision. In this experimental study, first, at a shutdown state of the UTR-Kinki reactor without start-up neutron source, a pulse height distribution of output signals from a neutron proportional counter was measured to confirm that these signals resulted from neutron detections. At several subcritical states of the UTR, then, the Feynman-α analysis was carried out to confirm that the neutrons detected by the counter must be fission neutrons multiplied by fission chain reactions. The correlation amplitude measured in the Feynman-α analysis was much higher than that measured in a previous drive by start-up source. Further, it was also confirmed that the subcriticality dependence of neutron counting rate followed the source multiplication formula. This feature indicated that the one-point model was very successful in the subcritical range including the shutdown state.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Milk proteins are used in a wide range of formulated food emulsions. The stability of food emulsions depends on their ingredients and processing conditions. In this work, β‐carotene nanodispersions were prepared with selected milk‐protein products using solvent‐displacement method. The objective of this work was to evaluate the stability of these nanodispersions against heating, salts and pH. RESULTS: Sodium caseinate (SC)‐stabilised nanodispersions possessed the smallest mean particle size of 17 nm, while those prepared with whey‐protein products resulted in larger mean particle sizes (45–127 nm). Formation of large particles (mean particle size of 300 nm) started after 1 h of heating at 60 °C in nanodispersions prepared with SC. More drastic particle size changes were observed in nanodispersions prepared with whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate. The SC‐stabilised nanodispersions were fairly stable against Na+ ions at concentrations below 100 mmol L?1, but drastic aggregation occurred in ≥ 50 mmol L?1 CaCl2 solutions. Aggregation was also observed in whey protein‐stabilised nanodispersions after the addition of NaCl and CaCl2 solutions. All sample exhibited the smallest mean particle size at neutral pH, but large aggregates were formed at both ends of extreme pH and at pH around the isoelectric point of the proteins. CONCLUSION: The nanodispersions prepared with SC were generally more stable against thermal processing, ionic strength and pH, compared to those prepared with whey proteins. Although many aroma components have been identified in green tea leaves, the aroma compounds contributing to green tea's characteristic odor have not yet been reported. The authors recently reported that aroma components with a matcha-like odor are present in both green tea and black tea prepared from the Sayamakaori tea cuttivar. This matcha-like odor is similar to the odor of commercial available matcha (high-quality powdered green tea), and is a specific odor feature of green tea leaves. At present, the green-tea odor is thought to arise from the combination of a large number of constituents. Recent reports indicate that a complex interaction between olfactory receptors and odorants is important for the evaluation of the odors. Taking into consideration these findings, the authors investigated the aroma profile of green tea, focusing on the characteristic molecular structures of the constituents that give matcha-like odor. Using a combination of organic synthesis and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry plus gas chromatography-olfactometry, the authors identified aroma components with matcha-like odors in five other tea cultivars. This investigation also revealed that several compounds with a formyl group were important constituents of the aroma of green tea leaves, although the odor of each constituent was not individually similar to the tea's overall aroma.
