Fundamentals of controlled/“living” radical polymerization are given together with a discussion of selected initiating/catalytic systems which provide structural, compositional, and functionality control during radical polymerization. Four systems which enable the synthesis of polymers with low polydispersities (Mw/Mn< 1.2), relatively high molecular weights (Mn>10 000), and high degrees of functionality are: nitroxide-mediated polymerization of styrene and styrene copolymers; organometallic compounds used for polymerization of acrylates; atom transfer radical polymerization of various monomers; and the degenerative transfer process. The intraparticle diffusion coefficient was measured using a method based on the fitting of a set of experimental chromatographic profiles to the lumped pore diffusion model. For this purpose, both the analytical solution of the model in the Laplace domain and a numerical method were used. There was an excellent agreement between the results given by the two methods. These results are compared to those obtained by moment analysis of the same set of chromatographic profiles and by the determination of the intraparticle diffusion coefficient from the second central moment of these bands. Nearly identical results were obtained with these two independent methods. The values of the intraparticle diffusion coefficient, De, for rubrene in pure methanol was found to be by the modeling method and by the moment analysis method. These values increase with increasing water concentration, to 1.10×10−6 and , respectively, in a methanol/water solution and to 1.63×10−6 and , respectively, in a solution.These results confirm the validity and the consistency of the lumped pore model and the moment analysis theory. They show that both approaches describe correctly the mass transfer kinetics in the particles of packing material during the chromatographic process. Systematic determinations of the intraparticle diffusion coefficient can now be undertaken and the influence of various experimental parameters on this important property of packing materials can be investigated. 相似文献

Butyltins (BTs) and phenyltins (PhTs) were determined in the livers of marine mammals found by-caught or stranded along the Polish coast of the Baltic Sea. During the investigation an original analytical method was developed. Butyltin compounds were detected in all the liver samples, whereas phenyltins were not detected in any of the samples. The total concentrations of BTs ranged from 43.9 to 7698 ng(Sn) x g(-1) dry weight. Age-related trends to accumulate BTs in immature porpoises were found. At the same time there were no male-female differences in BTs concentrations observed. No statistically significant spatial distribution differences were found between the locations corresponding to the open Baltic Sea waters and inside the Gulf of Gdańsk, which is characterized by high maritime activity. In comparison to butyltin levels in marine mammals from other geographic regions, the samples analyzed indicate a significant degree of tributyltin pollution along the Polish coast of the Baltic Sea. On the basis of a literature review, higher BT levels are usually found in waters close to highly industrialized areas, such as Japan, Hong Kong, and the United States. 相似文献

A novel electroanalytical approach is proposed here, and it is demonstrated with the direct and simultaneous determination of two unknowns: the concentration of redox sites and the apparent diffusion coefficient for charge propagation in a single crystal of dodecatungstophosphoric acid. This Keggin-type polyoxometalate serves as a model bulk redox conducting inorganic material for solid-state voltammetry. The system has been investigated using an ultramicrodisk working electrode in the absence of external liquid supporting electrolyte. The analytical method requires numerical solution of the combination of two equations in which the first one describes current (or charge) in a well-defined (either spherical or linear) diffusional regime and the second general equation describes chronoamperometric (or normal pulse voltammetric current) under mixed (linear-spherical) conditions. The iterative approach is based on successive approximations through calculation and minimizing the least-squares error function. The method is fairly universal, and in principle, it can be extended to the investigation of other bulk systems including sol-gel processed materials, redox melts, and solutions on condition that they are electroactive and well behaved, they contain redox centers at sufficiently high level, and a number of electrons for the redox reaction considered is known. 相似文献

A Geometric Approach to Solving Problems of Control Constraints: Theory and a DAE Framework 总被引:3,自引:3,他引:0
The paper deals with controlled mechanical systems in which the number of control inputs is equal to the number of desired system outputs, and is smaller than the number of degrees of freedom of the system. The determination of control input strategy that force the underactuated system to complete the partly specified motion is a challenging problem. In the present formulation, the outputs (performance goals), expressed in terms of system states, are treated as constraints on the system—called control or program constraints as distinct from contact constraints in the classical sense, and a mathematical resemblance of the inverse control problem to the constrained system dynamics is exploited. However, while the reactions of contact constraints act in the directions orthogonal to the respective constraint manifold, the available control reactions may have arbitrary directions with respect to the program constraint manifold, and in the extreme may be tangent. A specific methodology must then be developed to find the solution of such singular problems, related to a class of control tracking problems such as position control of elastic joint robots, control of cranes, and aircraft control in prescribed trajectory flight. The governing equations of the problem arise as a set of differential-algebraic equations (DAEs), and an effective method for solving the DAEs, based on backward Euler method, is proposed. The open-loop control formulation obtained this way is then extended by a closed-loop control law to provide stable tracking of the required reference trajectories in the presence of perturbations. The effects of environmental and individual factors on thermal sensation in air-conditioned office environments were analysed for two large, fully compatible thermal comfort field studies in contrasting Australian climates. In the hot - humid location of Townsville, 836 office workers were surveyed; 935 workers participated in hot - arid Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Overall perceived work area temperature and measured indoor operative temperature correlated moderately with thermal sensation for Townsville (T) subjects but only perceived temperature correlated with Kalgoorlie-Boulder (KB) sensation. Multiple regression analyses confirmed that indoor climatic variables (including Predicted Mean Vote) contributed to actual thermal sensation vote (24% T; 15% KB), with operative temperature having more of an effect in T than in KB. Subsequent analyses of individual characteristics showed no linear contributions to thermal sensation. The remaining variances were significantly related to perceived work area temperature (7% additional explained variance in T; 12% in KB). Mann - Whitney analyses (after correction for climatic variables) showed that T subjects with higher job satisfaction had thermal sensations closer to 'neutral'. Males, healthier subjects, non-smokers, respondents with earlier survey times and underweight occupants had lower median thermal sensations in KB. Townsville occupants appeared more adapted to their outdoor climatic conditions than Kalgoorlie-Boulder respondents, perhaps due to limited home air-conditioning. Further research into non-thermal impacts on gender-related thermal acceptability is suggested. 相似文献

Novel random terpolymers of N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM), sodium 2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonate (AMPS), and cinnamoyloxyethylmethacrylate (CEMA) were synthesized by free radical copolymerization using AIBN as an initiator. Five terpolymers were obtained by copolymerization of the monomer mixtures containing a fixed amount of 10 mol % of AMPS while the content of CEMA ranged from 5 to 25 mol % and was changed in 5 mol % increments. The terpolymers obtained are water-soluble. Because of their amphiphilic nature they undergo self-organization in the aqueous solution with the formation of micelles capable of solubilizing sparingly water soluble organic compounds, such as drugs. The terpolymers are susceptible to three external stimuli, i.e. temperature, ionic strength and UV light. Due to the presence of NIPAM in the terpolymers they display the lower critical solution temperature (LCST), the presence of AMPS makes them sensitive to the ionic strength of the solution, while the light-responsiveness of the terpolymers is due to the presence of cinnamoyl chromophores, which undergo photodimerization when irradiated with UV light at about 280 nm. Application of any of these stimuli alone or in combination with other stimuli allows changing the copolymer properties in a controlled way. 相似文献

This paper considers the problem of positive real control for two-dimensional (2-D) discrete systems described by the Roesser model and also discrete linear repetitive processes, which are another distinct sub-class of 2-D linear systems of both systems theoretic and applications interest. The purpose of this paper is to design a dynamic output feedback controller such that the resulting closed-loop system is asymptotically stable and the closed-loop system transfer function from the disturbance to the controlled output is extended strictly positive real. We first establish a version of positive realness for 2-D discrete systems described by the Roesser state space model, then a sufficient condition for the existence of the desired output feedback controllers is obtained in terms of four LMIs. When these LMIs are feasible, an explicit parameterization of the desired output feedback controllers is given. We then apply a similar approach to discrete linear repetitive processes represented in their equivalent 1-D state-space form. Finally, we provide numerical examples to demonstrate the applicability of the approach. 相似文献
