This study aims to provide comprehensive information on the process of vacuum impregnation of wheat grains. Vacuum impregnation, saturating materials with additional liquid components, is a well-known process originally developed to ensure leak tightness or reduce the porosity of various materials. We describe its potential uses in the food processing industry relating to the impregnation of grains and leguminous plant seeds. The objective of the study was to determine the influence of impregnation and infrared heating of wheat grains on flour efficiency, moisture content and particle size distribution in the resulting flour and bran. The experimental material comprised three varieties of wheat. The results showed that the method of preparing the wheat grains for milling combined with impregnation had a significant impact on the particle size distribution of bran but not on the particle size distribution of flour. A more complete view of the process characteristics requires further investigation of factors related to the structural and textural properties of the impregnated material, factors which are highly varied in the case of food materials and food products.  相似文献

Threaded molecular wires are shown to feature tunable properties. A new rotaxane based on a quaterthiophene threaded through a single β-cyclodextrin exhibits delocalization of the aromatic system that is also extended onto the central phenyl rings of the m-terphenylene end-groups. The rotaxane can undergo self-assembly that is better than the analogous bithiophene derivative, due to the increased π-π interactions.  相似文献

A fully automated algorithm was developed for the recording and analysis of vibrating objects with the help of digital speckle pattern interferometry utilizing continuous-wave laser light. A series of measurements were performed with increasing force inducing vibration to allow the spatial distribution of vibration amplitude to be reconstructed on the object's surface. The developed algorithm uses Hilbert transformation for an independent, quantitative evaluation of the Bessel function at every point of the investigated surface. The procedure does not require phase modulation, and thus can be implemented within any, even the simplest, DSPI apparatus. The proposed deformation analysis is fast and computationally inexpensive.  相似文献

Allogeneic bone grafts are used on a large scale in surgeries. To avoid the risk of infectious diseases, allografts should be radiation-sterilized. So far, no international consensus has been achieved regarding the optimal radiation dose. Many authors suggest that bone sterilization deteriorates bone mechanical properties. However, no data on the influence of ionizing radiation on bone dynamic mechanical properties are available. Bovine femurs from 2-year old animal were machine cut and irradiated with the doses 10, 15, 25, 35, 45 and 50 kGy. Dynamic mechanical analysis was performed at 1–10 Hz at the temperature range of 0–350 °C in 3-point bending configuration. No statistically significant differences in storage modulus were observed. However, there were significant decreased values of loss modulus between the samples irradiated with doses of 10 (↓14.3%), 15, 45 and 50 kGy (↓33.2%) and controls. It was stated that increased irradiation dose decreases the temperature where collagen denaturation process starts and increases the temperature where the collagen denaturation process finishes. It was shown that activation energy of denaturation process is significantly higher for the samples irradiated with the dose of 50 kGy (615 kJ/mol) in comparison with control samples and irradiation with other doses (100–135 kJ/mol).  相似文献

The nanopore arrays were fabricated by two-step self-organized anodization of aluminum carried out in 0.3 M oxalic acid at the temperature of 20 °C. This relatively high temperature shortens significantly the anodizing time and allows to fabricate quickly thick through-hole membranes without the additional operating cost of a cooling circuit. The structural features of anodic porous alumina such as pore diameter, interpore distance, porosity, pore density and pore circularity were investigated at various durations of pore opening/widening process carried out in 5% H3PO4. An excellent agreement of AAO structural features measured in FE-SEM images of the studied samples with results from software calculations was observed. The pore shape can be monitored qualitatively by fast Fourier transforms (FFTs) and quantitatively by calculation the percentage of pore circularity. Additionally, the regularity of the hexagonal arrangement of nanopores in through-hole AAO membranes was compared for various opening/widening time ranging from 40 to 100 min. It was shown that three-dimensional (3D) representations of FE-SEM images and their surface-height distribution diagrams provide interesting information about the surface roughness evolution during the pore opening/widening process. A template-assisted fabrication of Ag and Sn nanowire arrays by electrochemical deposition into the pores of the prepared AAO templates was also successfully demonstrated.  相似文献

This work aims to determine dependencies of single‐kernel (SK) physical traits on the kernel degree of fusariosis. The measurements were taken on samples of grain of six wheat varieties cultivated during 1–3 years. For SK mass, volume and width this dependence resulted in lowered (by at least ten to more than 25% for mass and volume, and ca. 5 to more than 15% for width) values in Fusarium culmorum infested grain as compared with the non‐inoculated control. In addition, moderately infested kernels tended to be of higher mass and size than kernels with no symptoms of infestation. An unexpected effect was a lack of dependence of SK density on the degree of infestation. Moisture content was lower for infested kernels by 6–8%, hardness tended to increase a little for moderate infestation, while it noticeable decreased for the heaviest infestation.  相似文献

Peptides inhibitory to the 70-kDa endopeptidase (PepO) from the cytoplasm ofLactococcus lactis ssp.lactis MG1363 were isolated from the supernatant (pH 4.6) of chymosin, tryptic and α-chymotryptic hydrolysates ofβ-casein (β-CN) by reversed-phase HPLC and identified by sequencing and mass spectrometry. Chymosin releasedβ-CN f193–209, kinetic constant (K i) of which for inhibition of PepO was 60 μM. This peptide also inhibited (K i=1700 μM) the 95-kDa aminopeptidase (PepN) fromL. lactis ssp.lactis MG 1363. Trypsin released two PepO-inhibitory peptides: one,β-CN f69–97, was not degradable by PepO (K i=4.7 μM), while the other,β-CN f141–163, was degradable by PepO but competitively inhibited hydrolysis of methionine enkephalin by PepO. A peptide,β-CN f69–84, which inhibited PepO with aK i of 8.1 μM, was isolated from the α-chymotryptic hydrolysate. Peptides released fromβ-CN by trypsin or chymotrypsin had very little inhibitory activity against PepN. PepO degradedβ-CN f193–209 very slowly compared with the hydrolysis of methionine enkephalin. All four inhibitory peptides (β-CN f193–209, f69–97, f69–84, f141–163) were readily degraded by thermolysin.  相似文献

High purity aligned nitrogen doped multi walled carbon nanotubes were synthesized by the catalytic chemical vapor deposition method using pyridine and Fe/Co (2:1 volume ratio) as the single C/N precursor and catalyst material. The average diameter of the synthesized tubes ranges between 29 nm and 57 nm and the nitrogen content of the tubes reaches a maximum of 9.2 (at.)% nitrogen. The effect of nitrogen doping on the Raman scattering of doped tubes and its correlation with X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS) was investigated. The analysis is based on the investigation of the ID/IG (integrated area ratio), other nitrogen characteristic Raman modes and the type of nitrogen inclusion interpreted from the N 1s electron bonding energies in XPS. At doping levels higher than 5% the nitrogen inclusion takes place through another mechanism than at low nitrogen doping levels. Most significant is that pyridinic defects are relatively readily incorporated at low nitrogen doping levels while at nitrogen content higher than 5% the major incorporation mechanism is dominated by pyridinic and pyrrolic defects on an equal basis. Our study gives further insight into nitrogen doping effects and the relation between type of nitrogen inclusion and nitrogen doping levels.  相似文献
