Yttria doped Ba-hafnates were prepared by solid state route and the proton conductivity of pressed samples of yttria doped barium hafnate was determined with impedance spectroscopy. The results are compared with existing data for cerates and zirconates. It was found that Ba-hafnates show a level of proton conduction that is comparable to that of doped Ba-zirconates at low and slightly higher at high temperatures. This is in agreement with the prediction based on the ionic radius of the tetravalent atom in the perovskite. 相似文献

The use of clay masses for radioactive waste disposal requires a comprehensive analysis of fracture processes in clay. Acoustic
emission (AE) was used to obtain a better insight into damage evolution during uniaxial loading of Boom Clay specimens. A
comparison of AE in clay and rock salt shows a much lower AE activity in clay. This, together with the higher attenuation,
would inhibit the use of the AE technique for large-scale in-situ monitoring in clay masses. Cyclic uniaxial tests showed
that, similarly to rock salt, clay exhibits a very well-pronounced Kaiser effect in AE with Felicity ratios around unity.
The Kaiser effect takes place at different loading stages (before and at the flow limit) and, during reloading, it coincides
with the deformation curve inflection. Further research is required to study the applicability of the Felicity ratio as a
measure of the intensity of healing processes in clay.

PURPOSE: To measure the levels of interleukins (IL) 1 beta, 6, and 8, and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF alpha) in the vitreous of patients with proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR), proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR), vitreous hemorrhage, and macular pucker. METHODS: Vitreous samples were collected, undiluted, from patients with PVR, PDR of varying severity, and miscellaneous lesions (vitreous hemorrhage from trauma, macular degeneration, vein occlusion, and non-PVR patients with giant tear, retinal detachment, and macular pucker). Immunoreactive levels of the cytokines, IL-1 beta, IL-6, IL-8, and TNF alpha were determined by enzyme-linked immunoadsorbent assays, and samples were analyzed for protein and hyaluronic acid content using standard assays. RESULTS: The levels of TNF alpha were below detection limits of the assay (< 3 pg/ml). In 45 of the 47 samples tested, IL-1 beta levels also were below detection limits of the assay (< 3 pg/ml). IL-6 levels ranged from < 30 to 5487 pg/ml, with the highest values observed in the PVR patients. IL-8 levels ranged from < 20 to 1900 pg/ml, and were consistently high in the miscellaneous group. Some of the PVR patients with C2 and C3 level severity also exhibited IL-8 levels exceeding 100 pg/ml. In a second study, IL-6 content of vitreous from miscellaneous and PVR patients was compared. In this study, significantly elevated levels of IL-6 were observed in the PVR patients (91.5 +/- 18 pg/ml) compared to the miscellaneous group (10.3 +/- 3.7 pg/ml) CONCLUSIONS: Elevated levels of IL-6 in the vitreous occur in PVR, implicating a role for this cytokine in the pathogenesis of this ocular disorder. 相似文献

Selective phosphorous diffusion is performed in Si to simultaneously form shallow n+p junctions of different depths in the submicron range by rapid thermal annealing (RTA). Low temperature (400°C) atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposited (APCVD) phosphosilicate glass (PSG) is used as diffusion source. A wide range of n+p junctions could be tailored with the same thermal budget by changing only the APCVD-PSG composition. This allows the formation of selectively diffused emitters in different regions of the wafer in one RTA step. 10 cm×10 cm Cz-Si selective emitter photovoltaic (PV) devices are fabricated this way with high energy conversion efficiencies in the range of 17% to 18% 相似文献

In this paper, the amorphous barium titanate precursor was prepared by the peroxo-hydroxide method and post-treated by various drying procedures, such as: room temperature drying, room temperature vacuum drying and vacuum drying at 50 °C. The objective in the latter two treatments was to increase the Ti-O-Ba bonds of the precursor. The post-treated precursors were compared with the untreated (i.e., ‘wet’) precursor. Also, a barium titanate precursor was prepared by an alkoxide route. Afterwards, the precursors were hydrothermally treated at 200 °C in a 10 M NaOH solution. Vacuum drying of the precursor seemingly promoted the formation of Ti-O-Ti bonds in the hydrothermal end-product. The low Ba:Ti ratio (0.66) of the alkoxide-route prepared precursor lead to a multi-phase hydrothermal product with BaTiO3 as the main phase. In contrast, phase pure BaTiO3, i.e. without BaCO3 contamination, was obtained for the precursor which was dried at room temperature. Cube-shaped and highly crystalline BaTiO3 particles were observed by electron microscopy for the hydrothermally treated peroxo-hydroxide-route prepared precursor. 相似文献
