Knowing the estimation of a statistical process’s parameters for measured network traffic is very important as it can then be further used for the statistical analyses and modeling of network traffic in simulation tools. It is for this reason that different estimation methods are proposed that allow estimations of the statistical processes of network traffic. One of them is our own histograms comparison (EMHC) based method that can be used to estimate statistical data-length process parameters from measured packet traffic. The main part of EMHC method is Mapping Algorithm with Fragmentation Mimics (MAFM).  相似文献

Eigenvalue analysis of size effect for cohesive crack model   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The paper analyses the effect of structure size on the nominal strength of the structure that is implied by the cohesive (or fictitious) crack model proposed for concrete by Hillerborg et al. A new method to calculate the maximum load of geometrically similar structures of different sizes without calculating the entire load-deflection curves is presented. The problem is reduced to a matrix eigenvalue problem, in which the structure size for which the maximum load occurs at the given (relative) length of the cohesive crack is obtained as the smallest eigenvalue. Subsequently, the maximum load, nominal strength and load-point displacement are calculated from the matrix equilibrium equation. The nonlinearity of the softening stress-displacement law is handled by iteration. For a linear softening law, the eigenvalue problem is linear and independent of the matrix equilibrium equation, and the peak load can then be obtained without solving the equilibrium equation. The effect of the shape of the softening law is studied, and it is found that the size effect curve is not very sensitive to it. The generalized size effect law proposed earlier by Baant, which describes a transition between the horizontal and inclined asymptotes of strength theory and linear elastic fracture mechanics, is found to fit the numerical results very well. Finally some implications for the determination of fracture energy from the size effect tests are discussed. The results are of interest for quasibrittle materials such as concrete, rocks, sea ice and modern tough ceramics.  相似文献

Materials with controllable multifunctional abilities for optical imaging (OI) and magnetic resonant imaging (MRI) that also can be used in photodynamic therapy are very interesting for future applications. Mesoporous TiO2 sub‐micrometer particles are doped with gadolinium to improve photoluminescence functionality and spin relaxation for MRI, with the added benefit of enhanced generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). The Gd‐doped TiO2 exhibits red emission at 637 nm that is beneficial for OI and significantly improves MRI relaxation times, with a beneficial decrease in spin–lattice and spin–spin relaxation times. Density functional theory calculations show that Gd3+ ions introduce impurity energy levels inside the bandgap of anatase TiO2, and also create dipoles that are beneficial for charge separation and decreased electron–hole recombination in the doped lattice. The Gd‐doped TiO2 nanobeads (NBs) show enhanced ability for ROS monitored via ?OH radical photogeneration, in comparison with undoped TiO2 nanobeads and TiO2 P25, for Gd‐doping up to 10%. Cellular internalization and biocompatibility of TiO2@x Gd NBs are tested in vitro on MG‐63 human osteosarcoma cells, showing full biocompatibility. After photoactivation of the particles, anticancer trace by means of ROS photogeneration is observed just after 3 min irradiation.  相似文献

Various diseases are diagnosed using medical imaging used for analysing internal anatomical structures. However, medical images are susceptible to noise introduced in both acquisition and transmission processes. We propose an adaptive data-driven image denoising algorithm based on an improvement of the intersection of confidence intervals (ICI), called relative ICI (RICI) algorithm. The 2D mask of the adaptive size and shape is calculated for each image pixel independently, and utilized in the design of the 2D local polynomial approximation (LPA) filters. Denoising performances, in terms of the PSNR, are compared to the original ICI-based method, as well as to the fixed sized filtering. The proposed adaptive RICI-based denoising outperformed the original ICI-based method by up to 1.32 dB, and the fixed size filtering by up to 6.48 dB. Furthermore, since the denoising of each image pixel is done locally and independently, the method is easy to parallelize.  相似文献

Post-war experimental and conceptual photography in former Yugoslavia has only rarely been the subject of detailed study and interpretation. In considering this period, it is necessary to take into account several factors, including the absence of permanent exhibition spaces for photography, the lack of magazines in which photographic themes were presented and discussed, the impossibility of studying the field of photography and, finally, the inadequate knowledge and application of contemporary criticism and theories of photography. Nevertheless, from the mid-1950s onwards it is possible to note a variety of innovations in the field, in terms of both form and subject-matter. This article considers rare instances of institutional support for progressive photography-related events and unique, intellectual-poetic works. After the break-up of Yugoslavia, there is a dominant tendency to nationalize art created in the former state, thus ignoring the specific Yugoslav cultural field as well as the European context. Based on a methodology which surpasses the national (but still acknowledges it) and searches for meaning within the broader socio-political space to which art is referring, the research aims to change the paradigm of the peripheral position and general ignorance of the circumstances under which this innovative practice emerges.  相似文献

This paper describes a user study on the benefits and drawbacks of simultaneous spatial sounds in auditory interfaces for visually impaired and blind computer users. Two different auditory interfaces in spatial and non-spatial condition were proposed to represent the hierarchical menu structure of a simple word processing application. In the horizontal interface, the sound sources or the menu items were located in the horizontal plane on a virtual ring surrounding the user’s head, while the sound sources in the vertical interface were aligned one above the other in front of the user. In the vertical interface, the central pitch of the sound sources at different elevations was changed in order to improve the otherwise relatively low localization performance in the vertical dimension. The interaction with the interfaces was based on a standard computer keyboard for input and a pair of studio headphones for output. Twelve blind or visually impaired test subjects were asked to perform ten different word processing tasks within four experiment conditions. Task completion times, navigation performance, overall satisfaction and cognitive workload were evaluated. The initial hypothesis, i.e. that the spatial auditory interfaces with multiple simultaneous sounds should prove to be faster and more efficient than non-spatial ones, was not confirmed. On the contrary—spatial auditory interfaces proved to be significantly slower due to the high cognitive workload and temporal demand. The majority of users did in fact finish tasks with less navigation and key pressing; however, they required much more time. They reported the spatial auditory interfaces to be hard to use for a longer period of time due to the high temporal and mental demand, especially with regards to the comprehension of multiple simultaneous sounds. The comparison between the horizontal and vertical interface showed no significant differences between the two. It is important to point out that all participants were novice users of the system; therefore it is possible that the overall performance could change with a more extensive use of the interfaces and an increased number of trials or experiments sets. Our interviews with visually impaired and blind computer users showed that they are used to sharing their auditory channel in order to perform multiple simultaneous tasks such as listening to the radio, talking to somebody, using the computer, etc. As the perception of multiple simultaneous sounds requires the entire capacity of the auditory channel and total concentration of the listener, it does therefore not enable such multitasking.  相似文献

The median (antimedian) set of a profile π=(u 1,…,u k ) of vertices of a graph G is the set of vertices x that minimize (maximize) the remoteness ∑ i d(x,u i ). Two algorithms for median graphs G of complexity O(n idim(G)) are designed, where n is the order and idim(G) the isometric dimension of G. The first algorithm computes median sets of profiles and will be in practice often faster than the other algorithm which in addition computes antimedian sets and remoteness functions and works in all partial cubes.  相似文献

In this paper a new approach to the control of a nonlinear, time-varying process is proposed. It is based on a recursive version of the fuzzy identification method and predictive functional control. First, the recursive fuzzy identification method is derived, after which it is used in connection with fuzzy predictive functional control to construct an adaptive fuzzy predictive functional controller. The adaptive FPFC is then tested on a nonlinear, time-varying, semi-batch reactor process and compared with the standard FPFC, which uses non-adaptive fuzzy model. The simulation results are promising; they indicate that the control of time-varying, nonlinear processes with the FPFC can be improved with the use of an adaptive fuzzy model. An improvement in reference tracking and disturbance rejection can be observed, but the main advantage is the reduced number of switchings between hot and cold water. This is an important improvement in the case of real applications.  相似文献
