The Automated Metadata Indexing and Analysis (AMIA) project aims to provide an effective digital asset management (DAM) tool for large digital asset databases. We began with text-based indexing since it is still the most reliable approach as compared with other content-based media features. AMIA not only searches for the text of the file name, but also utilizes embedded information such as the metadata in Maya files. The AMIA system builds a linked map between all dependency files. We present an approach of preserving previously established metadata created by the old DAM tools, such as AlienBrain, and integrating them into the new system. Findings indicate that AMIA has significantly improved search performance comparing to previous DAM tools. Finally, the ongoing and future work in the AMIA project is described. 相似文献

A novel approach to the problem of signal extrapolation from its Hartley transform magnitudes is presented. Using a newly defined function, it is proved that using only one known sample and the associated Hartley transform magnitudes a finite extended signal can be completely reconstructed. An algorithm for signal reconstruction from short-time Hartley transform (STHT) magnitudes with minimal window overlap can consequently be derived.<> 相似文献

The International Standards Organization's (ISO's) seven-layer reference model for computer communication protocols is discussed. The layering arises out of the stratification of functions across the layers. The various protocol functions performed at each higher layer are examined in detail, identifying the appropriate procedures that affect the efficient operation of these protocols over satellite links for different ranges of transmission speeds and bit error rates. Appropriate modifications are presented for removing the possible degradation and improving the performance. A self-backgating GaAs MESFET model which can simulate low-frequency anomalies has been developed by including deep-level trap effects. These cause transconductance reduction due to electron emission from EL2 in the depletion width change at the edge of the Schottky gate junction and the output conductance to increase due to the time-dependent net negative charge concentration in the semi-insulating substrate as a result of self-backgating with the applied signal frequency. This model has been incorporated in PSPICE and includes a time-dependent I -V curve model, a capacitance model, an RC network describing the effective substrate-induced capacitance and resistance, and a switching resistance providing device symmetry. An analytical capacitance model describes the dependence of capacitance on V gs and V ds and includes the channel-substrate junction modulation by the self-backgating effect. A transit-time delay is also included in the transconductances, g m and g mbs, for model accuracy and to describe the phase shift of S-parameters. An important question in array design is that of where to place the elements of a sparse array for optimal performance in terms of its ability to detect and resolve a greater number of sources than conventionally possible. In particular, it has been shown that when sensor elements are arranged in the minimum redundancy fashion, by performing an augmentation technique on the covariances obtained from the array outputs, an M element array can be made to estimate the directions of arrival of as many as M (M -1)/2 uncorrelated sources unambiguously. Constructive procedures are developed to evaluate integer locations for an array of given sensors that span a prescribed distance, such that any missing integer is expressible as the difference of two sensor locations. A theory to support signal alignment in rolling-based lightwave transmission systems is developed. The theory originates from the transmission system environment, which consists of three basic building blocks-multiplexer, scrambler, and permuter. These building blocks are represented by mathematical operators, on the basis of which mathematical expressions of the whole transmission system become possible. The mathematical operators are directly translated into number operators which help detect and identify the received signals in the form of a table-the signal-detection table. The signal-detection tables play a central role in the signal-alignment theory, since any transmission system can be represented by its corresponding signal-detection table. The entries in the signal-detection tables are closely correlated so that the tables can be uniquely characterized by their corresponding characteristic expressions. Room temperature CW and pulsed lasing of top-surface emitting, vertical-cavity, GaAs quantum-well lasers was achieved at approximately 845 nm. The active gain medium was four 100 AA thick GaAs quantum wells. The whole structure was grown by molecular beam epitaxy. Deep H/sup +/-ion implantation followed by annealing as used to control a vertical profile of resistivity for an efficient current injection at the active region. The threshold current was 2.2 mA for CW and pulsed operation using 10 mu m diameter lasers. Differential quantum efficiency was about 20%. Minimum threshold current density per quantum well of 360 A/cm/sup 2/ was obtained.<> 相似文献

Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) is regarded as a viable solution to provide broadband Internet access flexibly and cost efficiently. Improving the performance of Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) in WMNs is an active research area in the networking community. The existing solutions proposed for improving the TCP performance has concentrated on differentiating the DATA packet drops in the forward direction induced by both network congestion as well as transmission errors. However, the recent studies show that in WMNs packet drops occur not only in the forward direction but also in the reverse direction particularly due to hidden terminal, hidden capture terminal, link asymmetry etc. The loss of ACK packets in the reverse direction cause frequent retransmission timeouts subject to needless retransmissions and unnecessary slowing down the growth of congestion window, which causes the performance degradation of TCP. In this paper, we introduce a sender side TCP algorithm, called detection of packet loss (DPL), which is capable to distinguish the type of packet drops either DATA or ACKs caused by transmission errors as well as network congestion based on one-way queuing delay and react accordingly. To justify our contributions, we implement DPL in Qualnet simulator and compare its performance against existing TCP solutions via extensive simulations. Our simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can accurately distinguish the type of packet drops whether it is a DATA or ACK caused by transmission error or congestion and can significantly improve the performance under a wide range of scenarios in WMNs. 相似文献

IP over elastic optical network is a very promising networking architecture to interconnect data centers. It can enable efficient resource utilization and support heterogeneous bandwidth demands in cost-effective, highly available, and energy-effective manner. In case of aggregation elastic optical network node failure, to ensure a high-level quality of service for user request after the failure becomes a research focus. In this paper, we present a novel multi-stratum resources resilience (MSRR) architecture for the data center services in software defined data center interconnection based on IP over elastic optical networks. The MSRR can enable joint optimization of IP network, elastic optical network, and application stratum resources, and enhance the service resilience and the data center responsiveness to the dynamic end-to-end service demands. Additionally, a service-aware resource collaborative resilience strategy for MSRR is introduced based on the proposed architecture, which can provide the restoration using the multiple stratums resources in case of failure. The overall feasibility and efficiency of the proposed architecture are experimentally verified on our testbed. Moreover, the network performances are quantitatively evaluated through the simulation under heavy traffic load scenario in terms of path blocking probability, resource occupation rate, and path resilience latency. 相似文献

Laser Induced Thermal Imaging (LITI) is a laser addressed thermal patterning technology with unique advantages such as an excellent uniformity of transfer film thickness, a capability of multilayer stack transfer and a possibility to fabricate high resolution as well as large-area display. Nevertheless, it has been an obstacle to use such a laser imaging process as a commercial technology so far because of serious deterioration of the device performances plausibly due to a re-orientation of the molecular stacking especially in the emitting layer during thermal transfer process. To improve device performances, we devised a new concept to suppress the thermal degradation during such kind of thermal imaging process by using a high molecular weight small molecular species with large steric hindrance as well as high thermostability as a thermal buffer layer to realize highly efficient LITI devices. As a result, we obtained very high relative efficiency (by EQE) up to 91.5% at 1000 cd/m2 from the LITI devices when we utilize 10-(naphthalene-2-yl)-3-(phenanthren-9-yl)spiro[benzo[ij]tetraphene-7,9′-fluorene] as a thermal buffer material. 相似文献
