In a machine translation system, word sense disambiguation has an essential role in the proper translation of words when the target word can be translated differently depending on the context. Previous research on sense identification has mostly focused on adjacent words as context information. Therefore, in the case of nominal compounds, sense tagging of unit nouns mainly depended on other nouns surrounding the target word. In this paper, we present a practical method for the sense tagging of Korean unit nouns in a nominal compound. To overcome the weakness of traditional methods regarding the data sparseness problem, the proposed method adopts complement‐predicate relation knowledge that was constructed for machine translation systems. Our method is based on a sentential form recovery technique, which recognizes grammatical relationships between unit nouns. This technique makes use of the characteristics of Korean predicative nouns. To show that our method is effective on text in general domains, the experiments were performed on a test set randomly extracted from article titles in various newspaper sections.  相似文献

This letter presents the design of a novel multiband USB dongle antenna with a compact ground plane. The radiating patch is composed of a modified meander‐line monopole and a shorted loop to generate a dual‐broadband resonance. The proposed antenna supports WiBro, Bluetooth, WLAN, WiMAX, and S‐DMB services. The total dimensions of the fabricated antenna are 10 mm × 45 mm × 1 mm, the most compact size among multiband USB dongle antennas reported to date. The measured 10 dB reflection loss bandwidths are 20.8% (2.24 GHz to 2.76 GHz) and 20.2% (4.86 GHz to 5.95 GHz). The measured peak gain is 2.97 dBi, and efficiency is higher than 58%. In addition, the radiation pattern approximates an omnidirectional pattern.  相似文献

For an adaptive cruise control (ACC) stop‐and‐go system in automotive applications, three radar sensors are needed because two 24 GHz short range radars are used for object detection in an adjacent lane, and one 77 GHz long‐range radar is used for object detection in the center lane. In this letter, we propose a single sensor‐based 24 GHz radar with a detection capability of up to 150 m and ±30° for an ACC stop‐and‐go system. The developed radar is highly integrated with a high gain patch antenna, four channel receivers with GaAs RF ICs, and back‐end processing board with subspace based digital beam forming algorithm.  相似文献

The fundamental transverse mode lasing of a hybrid laser diode is a prerequisite for efficient coupling to a single‐mode silicon waveguide, which is necessary for a wavelength‐division multiplexing silicon interconnection. We investigate the lasing mode profile for a hybrid laser diode consisting of silicon slab and InP/InGaAsP deep ridge waveguides. When the thickness of the top silicon is 220 nm, the fundamental transverse mode is lasing in spite of the wide waveguide width of 3.7µm. The threshold current is 40 mA, and the maximum output power is 5 mW under CW current operation. In the case of a thick top silicon layer (1 µm), the higher modes are lasing. There is no significant difference in the thermal resistance of the two devices.  相似文献

In this paper, the channel capacity of multiple‐input multiple‐output ultra‐wideband (MIMO‐UWB) systems with single co‐channel interference (CCI) is calculated. A ray‐tracing approach is used to calculate the wanted channel frequency response, and the channel frequency response is further used to calculate the corresponding channel capacity. By the ray‐tracing approach, two different antenna arrays are applied to our simulation to observe whether MIMO can reduce CCI. This paper proposes multi-hop scheduling algorithms for the All-to-All Broadcast (AAB) problem in Wavelength Division Multiplexed (WDM) optical star networks. The multi-hop AAB problem can be split into two subproblems: Logical Topologies Construction (LTC) problem, and Transmission Scheduling (TS) problem. For improving the efficiency of multi-hop scheduling, we focus on a new multi-hop transmission model and transfer the LTC problem to a special case of the Round Robin Tournament (RRT) problem. In the proposed logical topologies, our multi-hop scheduling algorithms can easily overlap the tuning latency and reduce the number of tuning operations on each node. We compare our results with previous research in terms of schedule length. Overall results indicate that our multi-hop scheduling algorithms have better performance than previous algorithms.  相似文献

Unfavorable erosion to a revetment can affect the stability of the bank and may jeopardize the safety of adjacent structures, thus improvement work is needed to increase the stability of the revetment as well as reducing the possibility of failure. The use of geotextiles as a protection material for banks is not only environmentally friendly, but also stable in the long run. However, improper design of geotextiles may cause considerable loss of soil, which might result in failure. The actual flow behavior in revetments using geotextiles is rather complicated and can be categorized into three zones, namely, the uni-directional flow zone, the cyclic flow zone, and the tangential flow zone. In this study, a wave flume experiment was performed on model revetments using two kinds of geotextiles as the filter material to prevent erosion induced by cyclic flows. Soil migration behaviors were monitored. Furthermore, two kinds of cover blocks, riprap and concrete blocks, were carefully placed on the revetments in order to avoid puncture and abrasion of geotextiles during construction of revetments. The main purpose of this study is to elucidate the erosion control and filtration performance of soil-geotextile filtration systems under wave action. Two nonwoven needle punched geotextiles were tested. The geotextiles both have the same characteristic opening size, but have a different number of constrictions and different structures. One is a thin double-layer nonwoven material consisting of continuous filaments and the other is a thick one-layer nonwoven material consisting of short fibers.  相似文献

Recent experiments on the observation of collisions of single nanoparticles (NPs) with an electrode through amplification of the current by electrocatalysis are described. Systems in which the particles adhere to the electrode upon collision produce a step and staircase response, while those in which particles only interact for a short time with the electrode produce a spike or blip, with little change in the steady state current. Examples of both behaviors, e. g., Pt NPs on a Au electrode for hydrazine oxidation (staircase response) and IrOx NPs on a Pt electrode for water oxidation (blip response) are shown. Controlling the nature of the electrode surface is important in generating useful responses, for example, in the case of gold NPs on an oxidized Pt electrode for borohydride oxidation.  相似文献

The mechanical stability of titania (TiO2) nanofibers was improved by fabricating TiO2/poly(dimethyl siloxane) (PDMS) composite fibers using a combination of hybrid electrospinning and sol‐gel methods, followed by heat treatment at 250°C for 3 h. The compositions (90/10, 80/20, and 70/30, w/w) of the TiO2/PDMS composite fibers were varied by adjusting the flow rate of the PDMS sol with the flow rate of TiO2 sol fixed. There was no significant change in morphology and average diameter of the as‐spun TiO2/PDMS fibers after heat treatment. Both the tensile strength and modulus of the TiO2/PDMS composite fibers increased gradually with increasing PDMS content up to 30 wt %. In addition, from the photo‐degradation reaction of methylene blue, the photocatalytic activity of TiO2/PDMS composite fibers was strongly dependent on the TiO2 content (%) in the composite fibers. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Through modeling of the transient response of dibenzothiophene (DBT) hydrodesulfurization (HDS) to inhibition by 3-ethylcarbazole (3ECBZ), the hydrogenation (HYA) and hydrogenolysis (HYL) functions of a sulfided CoMo/Al2O3–SiO2 catalyst are characterized. The HYL sites, accounting for about one third of the total active sites, have a lower adsorption affinity for 3ECBZ than for DBT. The opposite is true for the HYA sites. The adsorbed nitrogen species are denitrogenated more rapidly on the HYL sites than on the HYA sites. As a result, the HYL sites are less inhibited by 3ECBZ and drive the HDS of DBT almost single-handedly in the presence of 3ECBZ. The catalyst surface is sparsely occupied by sulfur species because the HDS rate is much faster than the hydrodenitrogenation rate on both HYA and HYL sites. These results give a quantitative understanding of why 3ECBZ is a far weaker inhibitor to the HDS of DBT than it is to the HDS of 4,6-diethyldibenzothiophene. There appears a tradeoff between the HYA and HYL functions, which can be exploited for HDS catalyst and process optimization.  相似文献
