We investigated Au catalysts supported on TiO2, Fe2O3, and ZnO for their preferential oxidation of CO in a H2-rich atmosphere. Both full conversion and selectivity were achieved over Au/Fe2O3 and Au/ZnO around room temperature, but at higher temperatures the CO conversion was suppressed due to competition between CO and H2.  相似文献

Within the framework of the evaluation and the prediction of chloride-induced corrosion risks, simple and rapid AgNO3 spray tests can be proposed for various issues. This paper forms the first part of a series. In this first part, the Maultzsch procedure (spraying of 0.1-N AgNO3 solution + K2CrO4) as well as the procedure based on the use of a sole AgNO3 solution have been investigated on a broad range of concretes. These procedures have also been compared to the Collepardi procedure (spraying of 0.1-N AgNO3 + fluoresceine). The feasibility of these colorimetric techniques on saturated specimens cast in laboratory, after non-steady-state diffusion tests carried out in various conditions, is discussed. In addition, the results obtained from applying such spray tests in field conditions on cores drilled out from various RC test specimens exposed to a marine environment (tidal zone) and to a road and cold environment (freezing-thawing cycles and spraying of deicing salts) are presented. Colorimetric methods have in particular been applied here to the assessment of the average chloride penetration depth and of its evolution versus time (kinetics). Moreover, the detection threshold of these techniques has been investigated in various environments. The possible sources of discrepancy on the results have been analysed.  相似文献

Glyconanoparticles which present carbohydrate and amino groups motifs at their surface were produced. These particles were highly stable and soluble in aqueous solutions. The presence of the carbohydrate groups also allowed the inclusion of more strongly binding groups, without affecting solubility. The binding of a model DNA, plasmid by these nanoparticles was studied by atomic force microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and gel electrophoresis. Significant differences between the nanoparticles based on their affinities for the DNA were found, with implications for their potential use as nonviral gene delivery agents.  相似文献

Hybrid Approach for Addressing Uncertainty in Risk Assessments   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
Parameter uncertainty is a major aspect of the model-based estimation of the risk of human exposure to pollutants. The Monte Carlo method, which applies probability theory to address model parameter uncertainty, relies on a statistical representation of available information. In recent years, other uncertainty theories have been proposed as alternative approaches to address model parameter uncertainty in situations where available information is insufficient to identify statistically representative probability distributions, due in particular to data scarcity. The simplest such theory is possibility theory, which uses so-called fuzzy numbers to represent model parameter uncertainty. In practice, it may occur that certain model parameters can be reasonably represented by probability distributions, because there are sufficient data available to substantiate such distributions by statistical analysis, while others are better represented by fuzzy numbers (due to data scarcity). The question then arises as to how these two modes of representation of model parameter uncertainty can be combined for the purpose of estimating the risk of exposure. This paper proposes an approach (termed a hybrid approach) which combines Monte Carlo random sampling of probability distribution functions with fuzzy calculus. The approach is applied to a real case of estimation of human exposure, via vegetable consumption, to cadmium present in the surficial soils of an industrial site located in the north of France. The application illustrates the potential of the proposed approach, which allows the uncertainty affecting model parameters to be represented in a way that is consistent with the information at hand. Also, because the hybrid approach takes advantage of the “rich” information provided by probability distributions, while retaining the conservative character of fuzzy calculus, it is believed to hold value in terms of a “reasonable” application of the precautionary principle.  相似文献

This paper describe an approach for improving the data quality of corporate sources when databases are used for bibliometric purposes. Research management relies on bibliographic databases and citation index systems as analytical tools, yet the raw resources for bibliometric studies are plagued by a lack of consistency in fied formatting for institution data. The present contribution puts forth a Natural Language Processing (NLP)-oriented method for the identification of the structures guiding corporate data and their mapping into a standardized format. The proposed unification process is based on the definition of address patterns and the ensuing application of Enhanced Finite-State Transducers (E-FST). Our procedure was tested on address formats downloaded from the INSPEC, MEDLINE and CAB Abstracts. The results demonstrate the helpfulness of the method as long as close control of errors is exercised as far as the formats to be unified. The computational efficacy of the model is noteworthy, due to the fact that it is firmly guided by the definition of data in the application domain.  相似文献

The purpose of the study proposed in this paper is to evaluate the Spanish public university websites dedicated to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). To do so, the quality of these resources has been analysed in the light of data provided by a series of indicators grouped in seven criteria, most of which were used to determine what information is made available and in what way. The criteria used in our analysis are: visibility, authority, updatedness, accesibility, correctness and completeness, quality assessment and navigability. All in all, the results allow us to carry out an overall diagnosis of the situation and also provide us with information about the situation at each university, thus revealing their main strengths, namely authority and navegability, and also their chief shortcomings: updatedness, accessibility and quality assessment. In this way it is possible to detect the best practices in each of the aspects evaluated so that they can serve as an example and guide for universities with greater deficiencies and thus help them to improve their EHEA websites.  相似文献

Test data on the residual fracture energy of two significantly different concrete types are presented. About 80 beams of high performance basalt concrete and ordinary gravel concrete have been tested in accordance with the RILEM work of fracture method. The beams are heated at 1°C per minute up to a certain maximum temperature and kept at this temperature for 8 hours before cooling them back to room temperature and testing in three-point bending. The tests show that the two concretes behave almost identifical when the fracture energyG F is considered as a function of maximum temperature. It is found that the damage introduced by a maximum temperature of 300 to 400°C increases the fracture energy by 50% compared with the reference tests at room temperature. A more tortuous crack surface is one plausible explanation for the significant increase inG F. The article also presents temperature and weight loss recordings from the heating scenarios and finally, the characteristic length and the cohesive tensile softening curve are shown to depend on the maximum temperature. Basically it is demonstrated that the temperature exposure makes the concrete significantly more ductile.
Résumé Des données sur l'énergie résiduelle de rupture de deux bétons différents sont présentées. Environ 80 poutres de béton à base de basalte de très haute performance et de béton à base de gravier ordinaire ont été examinées conformément au travaux de la RILEM sur l'énergie de rupture. Les poutres sont chauffées à 1°C par minute jusqu'à une température maximale, puis maintenues à cette température pendant 8 heures avant d'être refroidies de nouveau à la température ambiante. Les poutres sont ensuite testées en flexion (système de flexion en trois points). Les essais prouvent que les deux bétons se comportent d'une manière presque identique quandG F est considéré comme une fonction de la température maximale. On peut aussi constater que le dommage occasionné par une température maximale de 300 à 400°C augmente l'énergie de rupture de 50% par comparaison aux essais de référence réalisés à la température ambiante. Une surface de rupture plus tortueuse semble être une explication plausible pour l'augmentation significative deG F. L'article présente également les évolutions de la température et de la perte de poids pour les scénarios de chauffage utilisés. En conclusion, cette étude montre que la longueur caractéristique et la courbe de post pic dépendent de la température maximale. Fondamentalement cela démontre que l'exposition à la température rend le béton sensiblement plus ductile.

The goal of this study was to examine whether data from 3 different measures of communication (i.e., self-report, quasi-observational, and observational) can predict relationship adjustment and stability 1 year later when used conjointly in a sample of 62 young couples. The 3 measures of communication were the Communication Skills Test-Revised (CST-R), the Communication Box (CB), and the Demand/Withdraw Pattern Questionnaire (DWPQ). Through hierarchical multiple regression analyses, results revealed that the CST-R and the DWPQ predict both genders' relationship adjustment 1 year later when used conjointly. Logistic regression analyses revealed that none of the measures of communication significantly predicted relationship stability. In conclusion, the combination of the CST-R and the DWPQ appears to be useful for longitudinally predicting relationship adjustment.
