Influence of the methyl group on the dielectric constant of boron carbon nitride films containing it

LSI interconnect insulators made using low dielectric constant (low-k) materials are required for high performance devices with a small RC delay. We investigated a boron carbon nitride film containing the methyl group (Me–BCN) using tris-di-methyl-amino-boron (TMAB: B[N(CH3)2]3) gas as a low-k material. In addition, we studied the influence of the methyl group on the dielectric constant (k-value) and the properties of the Me–BCN films. It was found that the k-value of the Me–BCN films decreases with increasing number of C–H bonds due to the methyl group (CH3). The number of O–H bonds due to water incorporation is suppressed by increasing the number of C–H bonds. Consequently, we suggested that a lower k-value can be realized by the suppression of water invasion by a hydrophobic surface due to methyl bonds. Determination of the fatty acid composition of sunflower (Helianthus annua L.) seeds by near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy was examined. Sunflower seeds were husked (removed from their hulls by a husking
machine or manually with a knife). NIR spectra of these seeds were scanned from 1100 to 2500 nm at 2-nm intervals in a whole-grain
cell with a wideangle moving drawer for machine-husked seeds or in a single-grain cup for a manually husked single-grain seed.
The extracted oils from machine-husked seeds also were scanned by sandwiching them between a pair of slide glasses to create
a thin layer and by placing them on a syrup cup. For extracted oil, the absorption band around 1720 nm filled out to the shorter
wavelength region in the NIR second-derivative spectra as the percentage of the linoleic acid moiety increased, because linoleic
acid absorbs in this region. On the other hand, for husked seeds and for a single-grain seed, as the percentage of linoleic
acid increased, the trough at 1724 nm where oleic and saturated acids absorb decreased in the second-derivative NIR spectra.
Determination of the fatty acid composition of sunflower seeds could be carried out successfully according to the NIR spectral
pattern for both extracted oil (r=−0.989) and kernel seed (r=−0.993). This is important, especially for a manually husked

We report on the high-quality holographic generation of higher-order Laguerre-Gaussian (LG) beams using a liquid-crystal-on-silicon spatial light modulator. The effects of the input beam pattern on the output LG beam quality are investigated in detail through theoretical discussions and experiments. Correlation analyses between observed beam patterns and theoretical mode profiles reveal that higher beam quality is achieved for output LG beams generated from a top-hat input beam than from a Gaussian input beam. 相似文献

Preeclampsia (PE) is characterized by disturbed extravillous trophoblast migration toward uterine spiral arteries leading to increased uteroplacental vascular resistance and by vascular dysfunction resulting in reduced systemic vasodilatory properties. Its pathogenesis is mediated by an altered bioavailability of nitric oxide (NO) and tissue damage caused by increased levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Furthermore, superoxide (O2−) rapidly inactivates NO and forms peroxynitrite (ONOO−). It is known that ONOO− accumulates in the placental tissues and injures the placental function in PE. In addition, ROS could stimulate platelet adhesion and aggregation leading to intravascular coagulopathy. ROS-induced coagulopathy causes placental infarction and impairs the uteroplacental blood flow in PE. The disorders could lead to the reduction of oxygen and nutrients required for normal fetal development resulting in fetal growth restriction. On the other hand, several antioxidants scavenge ROS and protect tissues against oxidative damage. Placental antioxidants including catalase, superoxide dismutase (SOD), and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) protect the vasculature from ROS and maintain the vascular function. However, placental ischemia in PE decreases the antioxidant activity resulting in further elevated oxidative stress, which leads to the appearance of the pathological conditions of PE including hypertension and proteinuria. Oxidative stress is defined as an imbalance between ROS and antioxidant activity. This review provides new insights about roles of oxidative stress in the pathophysiology of PE. 相似文献

An ionic-polymer–metal-composite film shows electro-mechanical coupling. When the film is bent, electric current is induced. Measurement of the induced current indicates that the current depends on the speed of bending, but the total amount of the charge transferred across the film is independent of the speed, and depends only on the magnitude of the bending. The result indicates that in addition to previously proposed dynamical coupling effect, there is a static electro-mechanical coupling effect.
