To improve the safety of plant start-up operation, a safety evaluation system has been developed. As a key component in an operational design support system, the evaluation system examines any potential hazards during start-up operation simulation. The evaluation system is integrated into an operational design methodology which designs operable processes by proposing alternatives, examining process safety and operability, and modifying operating procedures or plant structures. Issues for both methodology and implementation of a G2-based expert system are discussed. Finally, the system is applied to an industrial hydrodesulphurization process.  相似文献

The tip vortex cavitation and its relevant noise has been the subject of extensive researches up to now. In most cases of experimental approaches, the accurate and objective decision of cavitation inception is primary, which is the main topic of this paper. Although the conventional power spectrum is normally adopted as a signal processing tool for the analysis of cavitation noise, a faithful exploration cannot be made especially for the cavitation inception. Alternatively, the periodic occurrence of bursting noise induced from tip vortex cavitation gives a diagnostic proof that the repeating frequency of the bursting contents can be exploited as an indication of the inception. This study, hence, employed the Short-Time Fourier Transform (STFT) analysis and the Detection of Envelope Modulation On Noise (DEMON) spectrum analysis, both which are appropriate for finding such a repeating frequency. Through the acoustical measurement in a water tunnel, the two signal processing techniques show a satisfactory result in detecting the inception of tip vortex cavitation.  相似文献

The effects of various stearic-palmitic acid blend concentrations in films, storage temperatures and storage times on potato chip quality were evaluated using Response Surface Methodology. Storage temperature and time affected the quality of potato chips. The maximum storage times for acceptable potato chip quality were: 30 to 43 days, 23 to 25 days, and 11 to 12 days for storage temperatures of 15, 25 and 35°C, respectively. Results were independent of stearic-palmitic acid blend concentrations.  相似文献

Interaction effects of starch mixtures within surimi gels were investigated by modified distance-based design and analyzed by linear and nonlinear backward regression models. Nonlinear regression model showed highly significant interaction terms of starch-surimi, starch-water, and starchstarch. The response trace plot revealed that shear stress and shear strain were quite sensitive to changes in amounts of starch components. Optimum solution with combinations of various starches, surimi, and water was provided using linear and nonlinear programming.  相似文献

Chlorine treatment was evaluated for cut vegetables to reduce microbial populations and improve keeping quality. Water cress and onion were selected because they are representative vegetables having high potential for processing into cut prepared products. Cut water cress had a high initial microbial contamintion of 107.5 cfu/g, while cut onion had only 101.7 cfu/g. The cut produce was treated by soaking in chlorine solutions of different concentrations at 25C for 1 min. Treatment with ≤100 ppm chlorine effectively reduced the microbial load of the produce without significant quality losses. High concentrations of chlorine resulted in greater microbial proliferation after 7 days, ascorbic acid destruction and significant color change in stored cut vegetables. The effectiveness of chlorine treatment was limited to short-term storage of precut vegetables, and did not provide extended shelf-life.  相似文献

The antioxidant activity of water-soluble natural extracts from an edible seaweed , Sargassum horneri, was evaluated by examining the radical scavenging activities of the extracts of hydrolyzates from S. horneri on 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), hydroxyl and alkyl radicals. A spin-trapping electron spin resonance (ESR) spectrophotometer was employed and the results were compared for their ESR signal intensity. The brown seaweed S. horneri was enzymatically hydrolyzed to prepare water-soluble extracts by five carbohydrases (AMG, Celluclast, Termamyl, Ultraflo and Viscozyme) and five proteases (Alcalase, Flavourzyme, Kojizyme, Neutrase, Protamex). The extracts so prepared exhibited strong scavenging activity on DPPH, hydroxyl and alkyl radicals. The scavenging activity of the radicals increased with increased concentration of the extracts. The scavenging results were higher or similar for hydroxyl and alkyl radicals, and lower for DPPH radical compared with vitamin C as a reference. Viscozyme and Alcalase extracts were superior and scavenged radicals examined better than the extracts prepared by other carbohydrases and proteases.  相似文献

Tubular members have been used for constructing offshore structures. Large-scale fatigue tests of welded tubular K-joints under the balanced in-plane bending brace were carried out to investigate the fatigue behavior of API 2W Gr.50 steel produced by POSCO. The experimental results were verified by numerical approaches and compared with the IIW, DnV RP-C203 and API RP 2A-WSD design curves. The ultrafast laser based hybrid machining system was studied and a novel approach was demonstrated to improve laser machining quality on metals by vibrating the optical objective lens with a low frequency (500 Hz) and various displacements (0-16.5 μm) during a femtosecond laser machining process.The laser used in this experiment is an amplified Ti:sapphire femtosecond (10-15 s) laser system that generates 100 femtosecond pulses having an energy of 3.5 mJ/pulse with a 5 kHz repetition rate at a central wavelength of 790 nm.It is found that both the wall surface finish of the machined structures and the aspect ratio obtained using the frequency vibration assisted laser machining are improved compared with those derived via laser machining without vibration assistance.  相似文献

Platinum–ruthenium (PtRu) nanoparticles are dispersed on graphene nanosheets and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) via a hydrothermal method. Transmission electron microsocopy (TEM) observation shows the uniformly dispersed nanoparticles and the average nanoparticle size has been calculated. The electrochemical measurements demonstrate that the Pt–Ru/graphene catalyst exhibits about two times higher mass activity and better tolerance to poisoning species in methanol electro-oxidation than the Pt–Ru/MWCNTs catalyst. This study indicates that the PtRu anodic catalyst synthesized by hydrothermal method can be applied for direct methanol fuel cells (DMFC).  相似文献

A fast feedback loop is employed to reduce conventional phase fluctuation in a klystron and a gyroklystron using both proportional and proportional-integral type feedback circuits. Phase fluctuation of less than one degree is achieved in both the klystron and gyroklystron by using a proportional type feedback circuit; in the klystron, 1.8 degrees of phase jitter is reduced to 0.8 degrees and in the gryroklystron 1.9 degrees to 0.9 degrees. These results agree well with theory. A superior phase jitter reduction ratio of approximately 0.3 is demonstrated in both the klystron and gyroklystron by adding an integrating circuit.  相似文献
