The 2005 Fukuoka-ken Seiho-oki earthquake caused damage to structures due to liquefaction, slope failure and strong shaking in Fukuoka City. One of the authors had conducted microzonation for liquefaction, slope failure and strong shaking about 17 years before the earthquake. After the earthquake, the authors compared the zoning map with the actual damage. The results showed that liquefied sites coincided fairly well with predicted zones in the reclaimed lands. However, they were slightly different in a big sand spit named Uminonakamichi. Failure occurred at several slopes inside the predicted areas, while damage to buildings occurred due to strong shaking along the Kego Fault. The damaged area was slightly different from the predicted area. Furthermore, a liquefaction analysis was conducted and the results of this analysis were compared with the results of microzonation in 1988. We hydrothermally synthesized anatase films on Ti substrates from transparent aqueous solutions of layered titanate colloids. The morphology and wetting properties of the films were examined. The films consisted of columnar aggregates grown on the Ti substrates, which resulted in high orientation. Randomly oriented films were obtained when alumina was used as a substrate, whereas the sol–gel precoating of a titanium oxide (TiO2 ) layer on alumina substrates resulted in similar orientation as that of the films on Ti substrates. Thus, the presence of TiO2 on the substrate surface plays an important role in the orientation of columnar aggregates. The columnar aggregates were similar in microstructure to the arms of a type of six-pointed star-like anatase aggregate synthesized hydrothermally from the same reaction solutions. They were composed of twins of tapered anatase nanocrystals, which provided a rough film surface. The film surface was highly hydrophilic and oleophilic due to the nanoscale roughness even when the film was not irradiated with UV light. 相似文献

The reacting flow fields in reactive miscible viscous fingering in a Hele‐Shaw cell studied by Nagatsu and Ueda had not been completely elucidated, mainly because one cannot exactly recognize where and when the reaction takes place in the reactive fingering pattern. We developed a novel experimental method that allowed us to identify the reaction region in the fingering pattern employed in the previous studies. The novel method involves switching of the less‐viscous liquid injected in both the nonreactive and reactive experiments. By using the novel method, we succeeded in showing how the reaction region in the fingering pattern was affected by the initial reactant concentrations, the Péclet number, and time. Creep behavior of Si3N4 polycrystals containing Y2O3‐MgO‐SiO2 glass phase (with and without Calcium oxide [CaO] additive) was studied by compression tests between 1500 and 1700°C. We studied the effect of CaO additive on flow stress, microstructural evolutions, and thermal stability of the intergranular glass phase during deformation. While the addition of CaO did not affect grain size, the flow stress decreased with the amount of CaO. This result suggested that the addition of CaO reduced the viscosity of intergranular glass phase. The addition of CaO further improved the thermal stability of the glass phase by suppressing the evaporation at elevated temperatures. 相似文献

The reaction section of the naphtha hydro-desulfurization (HDS) process is a heating and cooling thermal process consisting of a feed/effluent heat exchanger and a fired heater. Energy savings are fundamentally made as a result of the maximized heat recovery in the heat exchanger and the reduced heat duty of the fired heater. To achieve further energy saving in the process, “self-heat recuperation technology” (SHRT) was adopted. In this technology, a compressor was introduced. The suction side of the compressor needed a lower pressure and the feed stream evaporated much easily. The discharged side of the compressor satisfied the operating conditions of both pressure and temperature at the inlet of the reactor. And the reactor effluent stream was able to be used completely to preheat and vaporize the feed stream. All the heat in the process stream was re-circulated without using a fired heater. SHRT was applied to the naphtha HDS process of 18,000 barrel per stream day (BPSD) in the refinery and the mass and energy balance of the process was calculated using commercially available simulation software, Invensys PROII version 8.1. This process-simulation case study confirmed that despite there being no more energy saving potential in the conventional process that makes use of a fired heater, the advanced process with SHRT can reduce the energy consumption significantly by using the recuperated heat of the feed stream. 相似文献

Ammonia borane (AB) has attracted intensive study because of its low molecular weight and abnormally high gravimetric hydrogen capacity. However, the slow kinetics, irreversibility, and formation of volatile materials (borazine and ammonia) of AB limit its practical application. In this paper, new strategies by doping AB in metal-organic framework MIL-101 (denoted as AB/MIL-101) or in Ni modified MIL-101 (denoted as AB/Ni@MIL-101) are developed for hydrogen storage. In AB/MIL-101 samples, dehydrogenation did not present any induction period and undesirable by-product borazine, and decomposition thermodynamics and kinetics are improved. For AB/Ni@MIL-101, the peak temperature of AB dehydrogenation was shifted to 75 °C, which is the first report of such a big decrease (40 °C) in the decomposition temperature of AB. Furthermore, borazine and ammonia emissions that are harmful for proton exchange membrane fuel cells, were not detected. The interaction between AB and MIL-101 is discussed based on both theoretical calculations and experiments. Results show that Cr-N and B-O bonds have generated in AB/MIL-101 nanocomposites, and the decomposition mechanism of AB has changed. 相似文献

The authors have proposed the Flexible, Reliable and Intelligent ENergy Delivery System (called “FRIENDS”), which is a new concept for future power distribution systems. Also, a “micro grid” which is a similar concept to FRIENDS has been developed. In a micro grid, an independent distribution system can be constituted by a number of distributed generators. In this paper, FRIENDS, Micro grid, and conventional distribution systems are compared quantitatively in supply reliability and system cost through time sequential Monte Carlo simulations. In addition, for cost evaluation, interruption costs are included to show risk incurred by unsupplied energy. The real vacuum vessel (VV) manufacturing of JT-60SA has started since November 2009 at Toshiba. Prior to starting manufacturing, fundamental welding R&Ds had been performed by three stages. In the first stage, primary tests for screening welding method were performed. In the second stage, the trial welding for 1 m-long straight and curved double shell samples were conducted. The dependences of welding quality and distortion on the welding conditions, such as arc voltage and current, setting accuracy, welding sequence, and the shape of grooves were studied. In addition, welding condition with low heat input was explored. In the last stage, fabrication sequence was confirmed and established by the trial manufacturing of the 20° upper half mock-up [1]. To date, few reports focused primarily on detecting colorectal laterally spreading tumors (LSTs) have been published. The aim of this study was to determine the visibility of LSTs on computed tomographic colonography (CTC) compared with that on colonoscopy as a standard. We retrospectively reviewed and matched data on endoscopic and CTC reports in 157 patients (161 LSTs) who received a multidetector CT scan using contrast media immediately after total colonoscopy at the National Cancer Center Hospital in Tokyo, Japan, between December 2005 and August 2010. The results of the total colonoscopy were known at the time of the CTC procedure and reading. Of the 161 LSTs detected on colonoscopy, 138 were observed and matched by CTC (86%). Of the 91 granular type LSTs (LST-Gs), 88 (97%) were observed and matched, while of the 70 non-granular type LSTs (LST-NGs), 50 (71%) were observed and matched by CTC (p < 0.0001). CTC enabled observation of 73% (22/30) of 20–29 mm, 83% (35/42) of 30–39 mm, 88% (49/56) of 40–59 mm, and 97% (32/33) of ≥60 mm tumors. The rate of observed LSTs by CTC was 86% (97% of LST-G, 71% of LST-NG) of the LSTs found during total colonoscopy. 相似文献
