The evolution of metric parameters of 2:1 and 3:2 mullites have been measured between 4 K and 1320 K using neutron and X‐ray powder diffraction. Negative thermal expansion was observed at low temperature for the a‐cell parameter and consequently for the cell‐volume, which is more pronounced for 2:1 mullite than those for 3:2 mullite. Each parameter is simulated using Grüneisen first‐order approximation for the zero pressure equation of state at 0 K, where the vibrational energy was calculated using microscopic approach. While the b‐ and c‐cell parameters require only one Debye term, a second Debye spectrum with negative Grüneisen parameter was required to fit the a‐cell parameter as well as the cell volume. At 4 K, 300 K and 1320 K the model, respectively, calculates the volume thermal expansion coefficients of 0.09x10?6 K?1, 9x10?6 K?1, and 17.3x10?6 K?1 for 2:1 mullite, and 0.09x10?6 K?1, 8.7x10?6 K?1, and 17.3x10?6 K?1 for 3:2 mullite. Temperature‐dependent Raman spectra and phonon density of states hint for the possible microscopic sources of the cell contraction at low temperature. A simple polynomial approach is presented to calculate the elastic stiffness coefficients of the 3:2 mullite, which are not available from experiments.  相似文献

Abstract

Research on the solvent extraction of ruthenium from hydrochloric acid media has been carried out using N,N'-dimethyl-N,N'-dicyclohexylmalonamide (DMDCHMA) dissolved in 1,2-dichloroethane. Ruthenium extraction percentages (%E) ranging from 50% to 80% have been achieved for HCl concentrations between 5 M and 7 M. Extraction curves exhibiting the dependence of the %E ruthenium on HCl concentration in the aqueous phases are presented, the latter solutions being obtained by dissolution of either Ru(III) or Ru(IV) salts. The influence of some experimental parameters on the %E Ru, such as the equilibration time, extractant concentrations, and hydrogen-ion activities, has been thoroughly investigated. Additionally, DMDCHMA is also adequate for extracting Pd(II) from 5 M to 7 M HCl solutions and under similar experimental conditions, %E Rh(III) is below 5%, and Pt(IV), Ir(III), and Ir(IV) cause the formation of third phases. Both Ru and Pd(II) can be successfully stripped from the loaded organic phases with water. A partition scheme to isolate Ru from a number of some associated elements has also been attempted.  相似文献

In this letter, we propose a novel receive antenna selection algorithm based on cross entropy optimization to maximize the capacity over spatially correlated channels in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless systems. The performance of the proposed algorithm is investigated and compared with the existing schemes. Simulation results show that our low complexity algorithm can achieve near-optimal results that converge to within 99% of the optimal results obtained by exhaustive search. In addition, the proposed algorithm achieves near-optimal results irrespective of the mutual relationship between the number of transmit and receive antennas, the statistical properties of the channel and the operating signal-to-noise ratio.  相似文献

This article describes the results of an investigation concerning with the failure of a pipe which was carrying oil from the control oil unit to the steam turbine control valves servomotor. The failure was in the form of a crack, propagating horizontally along the pipe. The crack initiated on the outside of the pipe. The cause of the failure was investigated by conducting visual examination, detailed macro and microstructural examinations and determining the composition of material from the failed pipe. The composition of the pipe material was analyzed by atomic absorption spectrometer. The failure of the oil pipe was attributed to stress corrosion cracking. The pipe material is A312 TP 304L. Recommendation to minimize such failures includes coating the pipe to prevent contact with chloride from the surrounding marine environment.  相似文献

The processing capability of computers makes it feasible to implement sophisticated techniques for process control. However, to minimize the software development costs, it is desirable to develop algorithms that can have a wider application. In keeping with this, an AVR and speed governor for a generating unit have been designed using the same algorithm, called the selftuning regulator. The selftuning AVR and speed governor have been implemented using a microprocessor and a minicomputer online. The feasibility of developing unified algorithms is demonstrated by means of realtime tests, in which the two controllers are used simultaneously for a generating unit physical model.  相似文献

Results of experimental tests carried out with microprocessor-based voltage and speed regulators using a digital-analogue-physical model complex of a large power system at the Siberian Power Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences are described. The physical test facility, and the test objectives and procedures are also outlined. Tests were carried out on a Soviet-built microprocessor AVR and a Canadian-built microprocessor AVR and speed governor. The work described shows that the development of speed and voltage regulators using microprocessors is a feasible and promising proposition.  相似文献

In a retrospective case-control study of 58 cases of human brucellosis, adjusted mean serum calcium levels were found to be significantly higher in patients with brucellosis compared with controls: mean (95% confidence interval) = 2.39 (2.35-2.42) mmol/L versus 2.30 (2.26-2.34) mmol/L (P = 0.0012). The possible mechanisms underlying the cause of hypercalcemia in human brucellosis are discussed.  相似文献

 We study the problem of how to minimize the cost of maintaining consistency among at least N copies of an object in an enviroment where the mix of read and write operations can vary. Quorum consensus requires that read and write operations must assemble appropriate quorums before an operation can succeed. The cost of an operation is proportional to the size of a quorum, and the objective is obviously to minimize the cost while still maintaining consistency. It is known that the quorum size can be reduced by organizing a number of copies into logical structures such as grids and hierarchies. In this paper, we show (a) how methods based on grids and hierarchies can be treated in a common framework, and (b) how these hierarchies can be optimized so as to minimize the cost of consensus. Of course, the optimal solution depends upon the mix of read and write operations that is present. Consequently, given N copies of an object and a ratio of write operations F, our algorithms determine the optimal values for the number of levels in the hierarchy and the read/write quorum sizes at each level.
