Thermoelectric power generators are one of the promising green energy sources. The operating and the generator parameters influence the generator output performance. In the present study, the influence of the operating and the generator parameters on the maximum output power and the efficiency of the thermoelectric power generator are examined. The output power corresponding to the maximum efficiency and the maximum attainable output power of the generator are compared. It is found that the maximum power of the thermoelectric generator corresponding to the high Figure of Merit is very sensitive to the operating temperature. The crushing behaviour of sinter from blast furnace operations is known to depend on its temperature. In order to characterize it, hot sinter was subject to single particle tests in a very basic drop weight tester. Additionally, a laboratory jaw crusher was sacrificed to work the same feed material. As the results regarding net energy input were not consistent, two common rocks were tested in comparison with both the drop weight and the jaw crusher. Although some discrepancies remained, the results with the rocks can basically be considered as consistent. This study evaluated the current crushed rock aggregate resources and defined the suitability of potential crushed rock aggregate resource areas in the north of Kocaeli Province by using the geographical information system (GIS). Evaluation of the current aggregate market showed that almost 80 % of the total annual production (14.35 million tonnes) is supplied by the quarries located in Gebze and 20 % of the total annual production (3.65 million tonnes) is supplied by the quarries located in Hereke. The commercial crushed rock aggregate is totally supplied from the limestone and dolomite type carbonate rocks in the northern Kocaeli region. Defining the suitability of potential crushed rock aggregate resource areas was achieved by using GIS methods. First, an aggregate bedrock potential map was developed by using the geological map of the area and categorized as high, moderate and low bedrock potential areas. The high potential areas, which comprised almost 25 % of the northern Kocaeli region, contain carbonate rocks with varying physical, chemical and engineering properties. Secondly, the suitability of the bedrock potential areas was checked by considering the land-use, distance to the county centres and distance to major roads and highways layers in the weighted overlay function of the GIS. The resulting final map contained not suitable, low suitability and suitable areas for crushed rock aggregate. The suitable areas were grouped into three zones according to their geographic distributions. A reusable catalyst with dual active center for chemical water oxidation is synthesized for the first time by immobilization of iridium oxide nanoparticles (IrO2 NPs) on monodisperse-porous manganese oxide microspheres acting both catalytic active center and support. Individual catalytic activity of manganese oxide microspheres is explained by multiple oxidation states of manganese which are capable of forming oxidative oxygen species. Monodisperse-porous microspheres in the form of Mn5O8, MnO2 and Mn2O3 are used for synthesis of different catalysts and the highest activity in water oxidation is observed with the catalyst synthesized using Mn5O8 microspheres. The catalytic activity is correlated with the total Mn(II) and Mn(III) percentage of manganese oxide type selected for composite catalyst. The oxygen evolution up to 244 μmol is achieved in 30 min with the catalyst synthesized using Mn5O8 microspheres. A straightforward, one-step route has been established to fabricate reduced- (rGO) and nitrogen-doped reduced graphene oxide (NrGO) with remarkable lithium-ion storage properties. The graphene oxide (GO) was synthesized as starting material by improved Hummers’ method. Thereafter, thermally annealing GO with NH3 at elevated temperature to synthesize NrGO was yielded a more open structure with nitrogen sites suitable for enhanced Li intercalation. NrGO exhibited a reversible capacity of 240 mAhg?1 at 10 Ag-1 after 500 cycles with 90% capacity retention, which is the best result achieved among graphene oxide-based anodes at this current density. In contrast to rGO, NrGO cells exhibited a gradually increasing capacity profile, reaching up to 114% of the initial capacity at 0.1, 2, and 10 Ag-1 current densities. Results showed that high occupancy of pyridinic N within NrGO enhanced battery performance and cell kinetics upon cycling which offers long-time operability at high current density. 相似文献

In this study, it was aimed to map the corrected Standard Penetration Test (SPT) values in Kar??yaka city center by kriging approach. Six maps were prepared by this geostatistical approach at depths of 3, 6, 9, 13.5, 18 and 25.5 m. Borehole test results obtained from 388 boreholes in central Kar??yaka were used to model the spatial variation of (N1)60cs values in an area of 5.5 km2. Corrections were made for depth, hammer energy, rod length, sampler, borehole diameter and fines content, to the data in hand. At various depths, prepared variograms and the kriging method were used together to model the variation of corrected SPT data in the region, which enabled the estimation of missing data in the region. The results revealed that the estimation ability of the models were acceptable, which were validated by a number of parameters as well as the comparisons of the actual and estimated data. Outcomes of this study can be used in microzonation studies, site response analyses, calculation of bearing capacity of subsoils in the region and producing a number of parameters which are empirically related to corrected SPT number as well. 相似文献
