This paper describes an experimental investigation of fabric-wrinkling behaviour as measured on a Thermobench, fabric stress-relaxation measured under both constant and varying ambient conditions, and inter-fibre friction of a series of three wool fabrics tested in both their ‘aged’ and ‘deaged’ states. Deaging of these fabrics was achieved by four different methods. It is shown that simply soaking in water at room temperature is an effective and practical deageing procedure for wool fabrics. 相似文献

Energy conservation is of paramount importance in oil and gas industries. Sulfur recovery units (SRUs) in oil and gas industries are required to meet the stringent environmental emission regulations, and are often viewed as production costs. They are normally net energy exporters and a considerable portion of heat is recovered as high‐pressure steam. However, SRUs processing lean acid gas streams require significant amounts of acid gas and air preheating before they enter the reaction furnace. Some portion of the generated high‐pressure steam is used in preheating these streams. This reduces the overall net high‐pressure steam generated from the SRU. Here, heat integration is used and an existing SRU facility is retrofitted such that there is an increase in net high‐pressure steam production. Seven new heat‐integrated SRU configurations are proposed, and key aspects such as net high‐pressure steam production, investment costs, and payback period for each of the new retrofitted configurations are compared. 相似文献

A scalable, cost effective synthesis of reduced graphene oxide (RGO)-magnesium oxide (MgO) hybrid nanocomposite (RGOMOHNC) is reported in the present work. The process involves an in-situ sonication method in aqueous medium at room temperature e.g., 30 °C. The as synthesized graphene oxide (GO) and RGOMOHNC powders are characterized by the XRD, FESEM, TEM, FTIR, RS and XPS techniques. The results indicate that in-situ growth of 20–30 nm MgO nanoparticles effectively increases the graphitic nature of the layered RGO microstructure. The experimentally measured cyclic voltammetry (CV) plots show that the specific capacitance of the RGOMOHNC powders is three orders of magnitude higher than that of the GO powders. A mechanism of RGOMOHNC formation has been proposed. 相似文献

The role of monoamine oxidase (MAO) type A and B on the metabolism of dopamine (DA) in discrete regions of the monkey brain was studied. Monkeys were administered (-)-deprenyl (0.25 mg/kg) or clorgyline (1.0 mg/kg) or deprenyl and clorgyline together by intramuscular injections for 8 days. Levels of DA and its metabolites, dihydroxy phenylacetic acid (DOPAC) and homovanillic acid (HVA) were estimated in frontal cortex (FC), motor cortex (MC), occipital cortex (OC), entorhinal cortex (EC), hippocampus (HI), hypothalamus (HY), caudate nucleus (CN), globus pallidus (GP) and substantia nigra (SN). (-)-Deprenyl administration significantly increased DA levels in FC, HY, CN, GP and SN (39-87%). This was accompanied by a reduction in the levels of DOPAC (37-66%) and HVA (27-79%). Clorgyline administration resulted in MAO-A inhibition by more than 87% but failed to increase DA levels in any of the brain regions studied. Combined treatment of (-)-deprenyl and clorgyline inhibited both types of MAO by more than 90% and DA levels were increased (57-245%) in all brain regions studied with a corresponding decrease in the DOPAC (49-83%) and HVA (54-88%) levels. Our results suggest that DA is metabolized preferentially, if not exclusively by MAO-B in some regions of the monkey brain. 相似文献

The in-tube condensation model of Bae, Maulbetsch and Rohsenow (BMR) is extended to condensation in an annulus with coolant on the tube side. An iterative calculation procedure is developed and used for predicting the variations of local condensing heat transfer coefficient, quality and wall temperature with condenser length for the systems-steam and Freon-12. Theoretical and experimental investigations of various exfoliated samples taken from layered In4Se3 crystals are performed. In spite of the ionic character of interlayer interactions in In4Se3 and hence much higher calculated cleavage energies compared to graphite, it is possible to produce few-nanometer-thick flakes of In4Se3 by mechanical exfoliation of its bulk crystals. The In4Se3 flakes exfoliated on Si/SiO2 have anisotropic electronic properties and exhibit field-effect electron mobilities of about 50 cm2 V−1 s−1 at room temperature, which are comparable with other popular transition metal chalcogenide (TMC) electronic materials, such as MoS2 and TiS3. In4Se3 devices exhibit a visible range photoresponse on a timescale of less than 30 ms. The photoresponse depends on the polarization of the excitation light consistent with symmetry-dependent band structure calculations for the most expected ac cleavage plane. These results demonstrate that mechanical exfoliation of layered ionic In4Se3 crystals is possible, while the fast anisotropic photoresponse makes In4Se3 a competitive electronic material, in the TMC family, for emerging optoelectronic device applications. 相似文献
