Concentrated solar collectors have high efficiency. Therefore, when concentrating collectors are used for water heating application, the system yields higher efficiency. From a hot climate perspective, there is a huge potential available for low-cost solar water heating systems. With the system described in this paper, the needs of hot water in the domestic sector can be fulfilled instantly. Authors used the parabolic dish collector for instant water heating. This paper describes the effect of variation of mass flow rate on performance of the parabolic dish water heater prototype. Design of the solar parabolic dish collector consists of a novel truncated cone-shaped helical coiled receiver made up of copper at focal point. The synthesis and in vitro biological evaluation (JEG-3 cells) of a series of novel and potent aromatase inhibitors, prepared by microwave-enhanced Suzuki cross-coupling methodology, are reported. These compounds possess a biphenyl template incorporated with the haem-ligating triazolylmethyl moiety, either on its own or in combination with other substituent(s) at various positions on the phenyl rings. 4-(((4-Cyanophenyl)(4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl)amino)methyl)phenyl sulfamate (6 a) was the first dual aromatase-sulfatase inhibitor (DASI) reported. Several series of its derivatives with various linker systems between the steroid sulfatase (STS) and the aromatase inhibitory pharmacophores were synthesised and evaluated in JEG-3 cells. The X-ray crystal structures of the aromatase inhibitors, DASI precursors 42 d and 60, and DASI 43 h were determined. Nearly all derivatives show improved in vitro aromatase inhibition over 6 a but decreased STS inhibition. The best aromatase inhibitor is 42 e (IC(50)=0.26 nM) and the best DASI is 43 e (IC(50 aromatase)=0.45 nM, IC(50 STS)=1200 nM). SAR for aromatase inhibition shows that compounds containing an alkylene- and thioether-based linker system are more potent than those that are ether-, sulfone-, or sulfonamide-based, and that the length of the linker has a limited effect on aromatase inhibition beyond two methylene units. Compounds 43 d-f were studied in vivo (10 mg kg(-1), single, p.o.). The most potent DASI is 43 e, which inhibited PMSG-induced plasma estradiol levels by 92 % and liver STS activity by 98 % 3 h after dosing. These results further strengthen the concept of designing and developing DASIs for potential treatment of hormone-related cancers. 相似文献

HyperCoal is a clean coal with ash content <0.05 wt%. HyperCoal was prepared from a bituminous coal by solvent extraction method with an extraction yield of 66.7%. Effect of K2CO3 loading and temperature on steam gasification rate of HyperCoal and parent raw coal was investigated. Experiments were carried out at 775 and 700 °C for both HyperCoal and coal with 0-25% catalyst loading. Gasification rates increased with increased catalyst loading and reached a value above which rates did not change with catalyst loading. The catalyst loadings were 6% for HyperCoal and 20% for coal. The difference is most likely due to the difference in ash content of HyperCoal and coal and not due to the effect of H2 inhibition on the rate. In the presence of catalyst effect of temperature was only on gasification rate and total gas yield and gas composition were unaffected. 相似文献

The application of computationally inexpensive modeling methods for a predictive study of powder mixing is discussed. A multidimensional population balance model is formulated to track the evolution of the distribution of a mixture of particle populations with respect to position and time. Integrating knowledge derived from a discrete element model, this method can be used to predict residence time distribution, mean and relative standard deviation of the API concentration in a continuous mixer. Low‐order statistical models, including response surface methods, kriging, and high‐dimensional model representations are also presented. Their efficiency for design optimization and process design space identification with respect to operating and design variables is illustrated.

Grain boundary sliding during high temperature deformation can lead to stress concentrations and an enhancement of diffusion in mobile boundaries. Experiments were conducted on a fine grained 3 mol% yttria stabilized tetragonal zirconia, under conditions associated with superplastic flow involving grain boundary sliding. Tracer diffusion studies under creep conditions and without load indicate that there is no enhancement in either the lattice or grain boundary diffusivities. Structure–activity relationship studies were conducted on Irosustat (STX64, BN83495), the first steroid sulfatase (STS) inhibitor to enter diverse clinical trials for patients with advanced hormone‐dependent cancer. The size of its aliphatic ring was expanded; its sulfamate group was N,N‐dimethylated, relocated to another position and flanked by an adjacent methoxy group; and series of quinolin‐2(1H)‐one and quinoline derivatives of Irosustat were explored. The STS inhibitory activities of the synthesised compounds were assessed in a preparation of JEG‐3 cells. Stepwise enlargement of the aliphatic ring from 7 to 11 members increases potency, although a further increase in ring size is detrimental. The best STS inhibitors in vitro had IC50 values between 0.015 and 0.025 nM . Other modifications made to Irosustat were found to either abolish or significantly weaken its activity. An azomethine adduct of Irosustat with N,N‐dimethylformamide (DMF) was isolated, and crystal structures of Irosustat and this adduct were determined. Docking studies were conducted to explore the potential interactions between compounds and the active site of STS, and suggest a sulfamoyl group transfer to formylglycine 75 during the inactivation mechanism. 相似文献

Sol–gel coatings were applied on AISI 304L stainless steel and their pitting resistance was evaluated in different concentrations of chloride ions in 0.01 M H2SO4 solution. AFM and XRD analyses of the coated surface confirmed the presence of nano structured α-alumina phase in the coating. Anodic polarisation indicated a considerable shift of pitting potential of the substrate in the noble direction after applying coatings. The SEM micrographs of the polarised specimens revealed the presence of relatively less number of pits on the coated surface. EIS analysis demonstrated the occurrence of diffusion process at the coating/metal interfaces in chloride ions presence. 相似文献

In this paper, coatings manufactured using the high-velocity combustion wire (HVCW) spray process have been studied. Molybdenum
coatings were prepared in this study, and wavelength dispersive x-ray analysis (WDX) investigations were carried out to ascertain
the oxygen content of the coating and its distribution. The x-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis of the coating was also carried
out to determine the phases present in the coating. Based on the above data, the authors explain the HVCW-sprayed molybdenum
coating microstructure properties. These coatings were also sprayed using a modified aircap design. The parameters varied
for the molybdenum coatings by HVCW and were (1) the distance of the substrate from the spray gun and (2) the wire feed rate
of the gun. The wear test and coefficient of friction measurements were also carried out for the coatings. Air plasma spraying

In order to make the judicious use of thiram fungicide we have developed starch- and alginate-based controlled and sustained agrochemical delivery system in the form of beads using calcium chloride (CaCl2) as crosslinker. The beads were characterized by FTIR and swelling studies. To study the effect of composition of the beads on the release dynamics of fungicide (thiram), beads were prepared by varying the amount of starch, alginate and crosslinker in the beads. Formulation characteristics like entrapment efficiency, bead size, percentage equilibrium swelling of the beads and diffusion mechanism for thiram release have been evaluated. Maximum (93.33+/-2.89)% swelling and maximum (80.67+/-0.83)% thiram release has occurred in the beads prepared with 15% starch, 1% alginate and 0.1M crosslinker solution. In most of the formulations the entrapment efficacy of thiram has been observed more than 90% and the values for the diffusion exponent 'n' have been obtained >1 which shows that the release of fungicides occurred through Case II diffusion mechanism. 相似文献
