Three non‐traditional pseudo‐cereal flours (amaranth, buckwheat and millet) were used in the manufacture of extruded breakfast cereal products as a replacement for wheat and maize flour. The use of these flours altered the physical and nutritional quality of extruded breakfast cereals. Extruded products made using the flours exhibited an increased product and bulk density. However the extruded products were not significantly different compared to the control sample in terms of expansion ratio (excepting Amaranth at the 65% inclusion rate). All of the extruded products made with the inclusion of pseudo‐cereals showed a significant reduction in readily digestible carbohydrates and slowly digestible carbohydrates compared to the control product during predictive in vitro glycaemic profiling. The results illustrate the potential use of these non‐traditional cereal flours in lowering the glycaemic response to the ingestion of extruded breakfast cereals. 相似文献

The thermal degradation behavior of a commercial epoxy resin, EpoFix® (Struers), has been investigated by thermogravimetry (TG), differential thermal gravimetry (DTG), and differential thermal analysis (DTA) under nonisothermal conditions in an argon atmosphere. Different methods (Kissinger, Flynn–Wall–Ozawa (FWO), Friedman isoconversion methods, and nonlinear least‐squares (NLSQ) estimation method) have been used to analyze the thermal degradation process and determine the apparent kinetic parameters. The methods produce similar results in terms of activation energy estimations. Nevertheless, the NLSQ method has several advantages over the other methods in terms of both characterizing the activation energy and modeling the thermal degradation—i.e., including this model in a resin degradation process simulation. However, it is interesting to combine the NLSQ method with other isoconversion methods: they can reflect the dependence and variability of the activation energies during pyrolysis processes, while providing a good starting point for a nonlinear procedure, especially with respect to the activation energy E. This work aims to analyse the impact of powders which are not conventionally intended for powder injection moulding (PIM) and how their characteristics influence the behaviour of the feedstock during mixing. Tests were performed with different alumina powders using the same binder system. The results show that mixing has a strong impact on the packing density of powders inside the feedstock, while the deagglomeration of powders makes it possible to achieve high critical powder volume concentrations (CPVCs) equal to or greater than 58 vol%. The CPVC depends on the deagglomeration efficiency. The agglomeration state – especially cohesion of the agglomerates – has an influence on the CPVC. The comparative study of mixing torques shows that the grain size and surface area of powders have a major impact on the mixing behaviour of the feedstock. During the implementation of powders, variabilities in the homogenisation of the powder/binder system and in deagglomeration are achieved as a result of powder agglomeration. It was demonstrated that the powders in this study perfectly satisfy the criteria imposed by the mixing process although they are not intended for PIM. 相似文献

Controlled‐atmosphere cone calorimeter is an interesting test method to study at the same time the effect of oxygen concentration and radiant heat flux on materials' fire behaviour and gas release. However, measurements in an extended range for these two variables can be tedious. To optimize the experimental measurement, this paper proposes a methodology based on the Doehlert design. The Doehlert method allows significant optimization of the number of tests. Calcium borohydride is one of the most interesting compounds for solid-state hydrogen storage, in particular because of its high hydrogen capacity. In this paper, the synthesis of Ca(BH4)2 by metathesis reaction via ball milling of a mixture of LiBH4 and CaCl2 is described. The effectiveness of this synthesis technique and the possible substitution of Cl ions in the borohydride phases is analysed depending on the back-pressure used for milling. When performed by ball milling under Ar, the metathesis reaction is not successful. A large quantity of a solid solution Li(BH4)1−xClx remains in the sample and CaHCl is formed rather than Ca(BH4)2. In contrast, the use of H2 back-pressure during milling favours the borohydride phases rather than CaHCl and leads to the formation of a solid solution Ca(BH4)2-yCly where [BH4]− groups are partially substituted by Cl ions. This compound has a similar structure as β-Ca(BH4)2 but with smaller lattice parameters. It is present in the as-milled sample together with LiCl and Li(BH4)1−xClx. The decomposition of the mixture occurs at lower temperature than for pure LiBH4 but higher than for pure Ca(BH4)2. The presence of chlorides in the structure of borohydride compounds changes dramatically the thermal properties of the material prepared and should be considered each time a metathesis reaction is used for synthesis. 相似文献

Avoiding the presence of Listeria in meat and dairy products is a major challenge for the food industry. In this work, a Lactobacillus curvatus strain producing the bacteriocin sakacin P and a Pediococcus acidilactici strain producing another bacteriocin, pediocin AcH, were used as starter cultures under laboratory conditions in a Listeria‐seeded raw‐pork‐meat matrix, which was then stored for 6 weeks at 4 °C. At 1 week intervals during the storage period, the antilisterial activity was evaluated. When either strain was added alone, the Listeria monocytogenes cfu count initially dropped from 102 cfu g?1 to an undetectable level by the end of week 1 or 2, but this was followed by a rebound (regrowth) 1 week later. When both strains were added together to the meat matrix, rebound was delayed, Listeria remaining undetected from the end of week 1 to the end of week 5. A rebound was observed 6 weeks post‐inoculation, but fewer than 10 cfu g?1 were counted. The use of more than one bacteriocin‐producing strain may thus overcome some of the problems limiting the effectiveness of bacteriocins in food systems. 相似文献

Identifiability is the property that a mathematical model must satisfy to guarantee an unambiguous mapping between its parameters and the output trajectories. It is of prime importance when parameters must be estimated from experimental data representing input–output behavior and clearly when parameter estimation is used for fault detection and identification. Definitions of identifiability and methods for checking this property for linear and nonlinear systems are now well established and, interestingly, some scarce works (Braems et al., 2001, Jauberthie et al., 2011) have provided identifiability definitions and numerical tests in a bounded-error context. This paper resumes and better formalizes the two complementary definitions of set-membership identifiability and μ-set-membership identifiability of Jauberthie et al. (2011) and presents a method applicable to nonlinear systems for checking them. This method is based on differential algebra and makes use of relations linking the observations, the inputs and the unknown parameters of the system. Using these results, a method for fault detection and identification is proposed. The relations mentioned above are used to estimate the uncertain parameters of the model. By building the parameter estimation scheme on the analysis of identifiability, the solution set is guaranteed to reduce to one connected set, avoiding this way the pessimism of classical set-membership estimation methods. Fault detection and identification are performed at once by checking the estimated values against the parameter nominal ranges. The method is illustrated with an example describing the capacity of a macrophage mannose receptor to endocytose a specific soluble macromolecule. 相似文献
