Mass customization (MC) has become a reality and cannot be neglected as one of the leading strategies in satisfying customers and assuring companies survival in today's markets. MC can be offered either via product variability or process variability. How this is achieved using both approaches is the main core of this article. After an overview of related works, the influence of design variability on the overall generated value of the product is studied via a metric approach. Carbon‐nanotube (CNT)‐based sensors offer the potential to detect single‐molecule events and picomolar analyte concentrations. An important step toward applications of such nanosensors is their integration in large arrays. The availability of large arrays would enable multiplexed and parallel sensing, and the simultaneously obtained sensor signals would facilitate statistical analysis. A reliable method to fabricate an array of 1024 CNT‐based sensors on a fully processed complementary‐metal‐oxide‐semiconductor microsystem is presented. A high‐yield process for the deposition of CNTs from a suspension by means of liquid‐coupled floating‐electrode dielectrophoresis (DEP), which yielded 80% of the sensor devices featuring between one and five CNTs, is developed. The mechanism of floating‐electrode DEP on full arrays and individual devices to understand its self‐limiting behavior is studied. The resistance distributions across the array of CNT devices with respect to different DEP parameters are characterized. The CNT devices are then operated as liquid‐gated CNT field‐effect‐transistors (LG‐CNTFET) in liquid environment. Current dependency to the gate voltage of up to two orders of magnitude is recorded. Finally, the sensors are validated by studying the pH dependency of the LG‐CNTFET conductance and it is demonstrated that 73% of the CNT sensors of a given microsystem show a resistance decrease upon increasing the pH value. 相似文献

A series of new prodrugs of daunorubicin and doxorubicin which are candidates for antibody-directed enzyme prodrug therapy (ADEPT) is reported. These compounds (25a,b,c and 32a,b,c) have been designed to generate cytotoxic drugs after activation with beta-glucuronidase. As expected, recovery of the active drug was observed after enzymatic cleavage by Escherichia coli beta-glucuronidase as well as by a fusion protein which has been obtained from human beta-glucuronidase and humanized CEA-specific binding region. The six prodrugs are highly stable and are more than 100-fold less cytotoxic than doxorubicin against murine L1210 cell lines. The ortho-substituted phenyl carbamates 25a,b,c are better substrates for beta-glucuronidase than the corresponding para-substituted analogues. After taking into account additional factors such as stability in plasma and kinetics of enzymatic cleavage, we selected the o-nitro prodrug 25c for clinical trials. 相似文献

BACKGROUND: Human dirofilariosis is endemic in southern France. The causal agent is Dirofilaria repens transmitted to man by mosquitos. The human organism is an accidental host while the dog is the reservoir. Approximately 60 cases have been reported in France, mainly in southern continental areas and Corsica. Most cases involve subcutaneous and occular manifestations. CASE REPORT: A 47-year old woman living in the Var department in southern france consulted for a subcutaneous nodule with the aspect of an epidermoid cyst. At incision, the nodule was found to contain a helminth found at parasite examination to be Dirofilaria repens. DISCUSSION: The prevalence of endemic subcutaneous dirofilariosis is probably underestimated as the clinical expression is non-specific and spontaneous cure is common. The diagnosis of epidermoid cyst is frequently suggested. History taking does not reveal travel to intertropical areas. The helminth is discovered when the nodule is opened, also providing successful cure. 相似文献

We investigate the algebraic complexity of tensor calculus. We consider a generalization of iterated matrix product to tensors and show that the resulting formulas exactly capture VP, the class of polynomial families efficiently computable by arithmetic circuits. In the Lake Winnipeg Basin (LWB), at both basin and regional scales, there are currently gaps regarding the significance of groundwater as a mediator of nutrient and contaminant fluxes to Lake Winnipeg. During 2018, surface water and groundwater samples were collected from various locations across the largest sand and gravel aquifer (Assiniboine Delta Aquifer [ADA]; 3800 km2) in the LWB as well as from surface water courses flowing above this aquifer. The samples collected during spring and fall were analyzed for anions and cations as well as for a series of isotopic and geochemical tracers (e.g. water isotopes, carbon 14, artificial sweeteners, pesticides, etc.). The results reveal that groundwater and the small watercourses flowing above the ADA have a similar chemical composition, which is in contrast with the chemical composition of the main watercourse flowing above the aquifer (Assiniboine River [AR]). When corroborated with stream discharge measurements this indicates that groundwater plays a significant role at local scale in controlling both the flow and the chemical composition of the AR tributaries. Nitrate showed low to non-detectable concentrations in both groundwater and surface water. With respect to groundwater, this could be related to the reducing conditions in the deeper aquifer in conjunction with relatively large groundwater travel times of up to 2400 years. 相似文献

The new ubiquitous interaction methods change people’s life and facilitate their tasks in everyday life and in the workplace, enabling people to access their personal data as well as public resources at any time and in any place. We found two solutions to enable ubiquitous interaction and put a stop to the limits imposed by the desktop mode: namely nomadism and mobility. Based on these two solutions, we have proposed three interfaces (Zhou et al. in HCI international 2011: human–computer interaction. Interaction techniques and environments, Springer, Berlin, pp 500–509, 2011): in-environment interface (IEI), environment dependent interface (EDI), and environment independent interface (EII). In this paper, we first discuss an overview of IEI, EDI, and EII, before excluding IEI and focusing on EDI and EII, their background, and distinct characteristics. We also propose a continuum from physical paper-based interface to digital projected interface in relation with EDI and EII. Then, to validate EDI and EII concepts, we design and implement a MobilePaperAccess system, which is a wearable camera-glasses system with paper-based interface and original input techniques allowing mobile interaction. Furthermore, we discuss the evaluation of the MobilePaperAccess system; we compare two interfaces (EDI and EII) and three input techniques (finger input, mask input, and page input) to test the feasibility and usability of this system. Both the quantitative and qualitative results are reported and discussed. Finally, we provide the prospects and our future work for improving the current approaches. 相似文献

We investigated whether the structural and functional behaviorsof two unrelated protein domains were modified when fused. TheIgG-binding protein ZZ derived from staphylococcal protein Awas fused to the N- and/or C-terminus of the diphtheria toxintransmembrane domain (T). T undergoes a conformational changefrom a soluble native state at neutral pH to a molten globule-likestate at acidic pH, leading to its interaction with membranes.We found that this molten globule state was not connected tothe GdnHCl-induced unfolding pathway of T. The pH-induced transitionof T, and also the unfolding of T and ZZ at neutral and acidicpH, were unchanged whether the domains were isolated or fused.The position of ZZ, however, influenced the solubility of Tnear its pKi. SPR measurements revealed that T has a high affinityfor membranes, isolated or within the fusion proteins (KD<10-11 M). This work shows that in the case of T and ZZ, thefusion of protein domains with different stabilities does notalter the structural changes involved in folding and function.This supports the use of T as a soluble membrane anchor. 相似文献

A new reversible 3D mesh watermarking scheme is proposed in conjunction with progressive compression. Progressive 3D mesh compression permits a progressive refinement of the model from a coarse to a fine representation by using different levels of detail (LoDs). A reversible watermark is embedded into all refinement levels such that (1) the refinement levels are copyright protected, and (2) an authorized user is able to reconstruct the original 3D model after watermark extraction, hence reversible. The progressive compression considers a connectivity-driven algorithm to choose the vertices that are to be refined for each LoD. The proposed watermarking algorithm modifies the geometry information of these vertices based on histogram bin shifting technique. An authorized user can extract the watermark in each LoD and recover the original 3D mesh, while an unauthorized user which has access to the decompression algorithm can only reconstruct a distorted version of the 3D model. Experimental results show that the proposed method is robust to several attack scenarios while maintaining a good compression ratio. 相似文献
