The reasons for using lactic acid bacteria are to make food durable, to improve its taste and to maintain the nutritive,
physiological and hygienic value of the fermentation products. Sixteen strains of the genus Lactobacillus were tested on samples of white fresh cabbage and of a sterilized cabbage and carrot juice mixture. After 7 days of lactic
acid fermentation at 27 °C or 30 °C, reducing sugars, total acidity, pH value, lactic, citric and acetic acids, ammonia,
nitrates and nitrites were measured in the samples. On the basis of the criteria mentioned above three strains were acceptable.
These strains reduced the content of nitrates in the original samples.

The erase voltage impact on the 0.18μm triple self-aligned split-gate flash endurance is studied.An optimized erase voltage is necessary in order to achieve the best endurance.A lower erase voltage can cause more cell current degradation by increasing its sensitivity to the floating gate voltage drop,which is induced by tunnel oxide charge trapping during program/erase cycling.A higher erase voltage also aggravates the endurance degradation by introducing select gate oxide charge trapping.A progressive erase voltage method is proposed and demonstrated to better balance the two degradation mechanisms and thus further improve endurance performance. 相似文献

AlGaN/GaN high-electron mobility transistors (HEMTs) were fabricated on SiC substrates with epitaxial layers grown by multiple suppliers and methods. Devices with gate lengths varying from 0.50 to 0.09 mum were fabricated on each sample. We demonstrate the impact of varying the gate lengths and show that the unity current gain frequency response (fT) is limited by short-channel effects for all samples measured. We present an empirically based physical model that can predict the expected extrinsic fT for many combinations of gate length and commonly used barrier layer thickness (tbar) on silicon nitride passivated T-gated AlGaN/GaN HEMTs. The result is that even typical high-aspect-ratio (gate length to barrier thickness) devices show device performance limitations due to short-channel effects. We present the design tradeoffs and show the parameter space required to achieve optimal frequency performance for GaN technology. These design rules differ from the traditional GaAs technology by requiring a significantly higher aspect ratio to mitigate the short-channel effects. 相似文献

We are presenting a fast new method of analysing a dielectric interface which is assumed to be cylindrically symmetrical. It is based on a multimode Gaussian beam development. Then two different cases are considered and we show the kind of results we can expect from this process. This paper examines selected design issues associated with reactor scale-up in the thermochemical copper–chlorine (Cu–Cl) cycle of hydrogen production. The thermochemical cycle decomposes water into oxygen and hydrogen, through intermediate copper and chlorine compounds. In this paper, emphasis is focused on the hydrogen, oxygen and hydrolysis reactors. A sedimentation cell for copper separation and HCl gas absorption tower are discussed for the thermochemical hydrogen reactor. A molten salt reactor is investigated for decomposition of an intermediate compound, copper oxychloride (CuO·Cl2), into oxygen gas and molten cuprous chloride. Scale-up design issues are examined for handling three phases within the molten salt reactor, i.e., solid copper oxychloride particles, liquid (melting salt) and exiting gas (oxygen). Also, different variations of hydrolysis reactions are compared, including 5, 3 and 2-step Cu–Cl cycles that utilize reactive spray drying, instead of separate drying and hydrolysis processes. The spray drying involves evaporation of aqueous feed by mixing the spray and drying streams. Results are presented for the required capacities of feed materials for the multiphase reactors, steam and heat requirements, and other key design parameters for reactor scale-up to a pilot-scale capacity. 相似文献

This paper describes the effect of geometry in charge-trap (CT) memory devices. We first theoretically analyze the impact of the curvature radius on the behavior of the gate current in Gate-All-Around devices, and then describe the change to make to planar model in order to fit the cylindrical devices characteristics. This model is used to simulate Nanocrystal and SONOS program, erase and retention behaviors. The dynamics enhancement during program/erase due to the bending of the active region in such cylindrical devices is explained. The scaling perspectives conclude this paper. 相似文献

The phenomenon of speckle in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images is well known as a characteristic grainy appearance of radar images. Speckle is frequently a significant obstacle to visual interpretations of radar data or target identification. In addition, it is usually the dominant noise source in SAR interferometry, since it is responsible for image decorrelation that degrades interferometric fringes, places severe constraints on orbits, and limits the accuracy of height measurements. This communication deals with the geometric sources of speckle. This conventional picture is extended to the case of vertically separated scatterers, and the formulation that results is applied to the structurally similar topics of azimuth focusing, interferometric decorrelation from defocusing, and atmospheric phase delays. 相似文献

Traditional fault-tolerance techniques relying on spatial and temporal redundancy typically imply high power, delay, and area overheads. Cost-effective solutions often depend on system’s design and hardware platform at hand. Particularly for Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), soft errors on the configuration memory are a significant dependability threat. In this work, we present an extended and comprehensive fault tolerance mechanism especially suited for dealing with configuration faults on FPGA-based systems that must deal multiple failure modes. Each failure mode may present different criticality and probability of occurrence, and these properties are measured and exploited to provide low-cost solutions when compared to standard approaches such as triple modular redundancy. The exploited properties are typically found in critical monitoring systems that may trigger security- or safety-critical alarms and warnings in general. In such systems, failing to trigger an alarm when necessary is frequently regarded as more critical than providing an occasional false alarm. For instance, Regular Expression Matching (REM), a compute-intensive mechanism heavily used to perform Deep Packet Inspection in critical network applications, presents such properties, and it can be greatly accelerated by FPGAs to meet performance constraints in high-throughput networks. Therefore, we use FPGA-based REM engines as a case study to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed techniques. Additionally, a mutually-aware placement and scrubbing mechanism is introduced to reduce the repair time, improving the system reliability and availability. Experimental results show that the failure rate and the repair time can be reduced by 95 and 90% respectively while avoiding the costs of triplication. 相似文献

The main weakness of elastic optical networks (EON), under dynamic traffic conditions, stems from spectrum fragmentation. A lot of research efforts have been dedicated during recent years to spectrum defragmentation. In this work, a thorough study about proactive defragmentation is carried out. Effects of the different defragmentation parameters on the EON performance are analyzed, and appropriate values of the defragmentation period, which guarantee suitable network performance while keeping the network control complexity at reasonable values, are obtained by means of extensive simulations. Benefit obtained by applying different defragmentation strategies, in terms of increase in the supported load at a given bandwidth blocking probability, is also reported.
