In this paper, several algorithms for compressing the feedback of channel quality information are presented and analyzed.
These algorithms are developed for a proposed adaptive modulation scheme for future multi-carrier 4G mobile systems. These
strategies compress the feedback data and, used together with opportunistic scheduling, drastically reduce the feedback data
rate. Thus the adaptive modulation schemes become more suitable and efficient to be implemented in future mobile systems,
increasing data throughput and overall system performance.

We present a complete characterization of the work parameters of several types of semiconductor lasers. Static parameters as: power, linewidth and linewidth enhancement factor and also dynamic parameters such as: relaxation oscillations, relative intensity noise and damping rates are calculated using measurements of the optical spectrum of the lasers operated in continuous-wave mode. In this paper we propose a novel super-resolution based algorithm for the pansharpening of multispectral images. Within the Bayesian formulation, the proposed methodology incorporates prior knowledge on the expected characteristics of multispectral images; that is, it imposes smoothness within each band by means of the energy associated with the ℓ1 norm of vertical and horizontal first order differences of image pixel values and also takes into account the correlation among the bands of the multispectral image. The observation process is modeled using the sensor characteristics of both panchromatic and multispectral images. The method is tested on real and synthetic images, compared with other pansharpening methods, and the quality of the results assessed both qualitatively and quantitatively. 相似文献

In a cognitive radio system, the goal is to make better use of the radio electric spectrum, allowing non-licensed users access to those currently unused electromagnetic bands assigned to licensed users (LUs). This can be achieved using OFDM, where the non-licensed users must select the temporarily available subcarriers and turn off those subcarriers used by LUs in order to avoid interference. Hence, only a subset of the subcarriers can be used for data or pilot tone transmission. To this end, some pilot allocation algorithms have been proposed for this dynamic scenario, but they are designed in such away that an equispaced pilot placement is respected (as much as possible) while minimizing the mean squared error of the channel estimate. Nevertheless, this equispaced placement can lead to the use of an increased number of pilots in order to achieve a good channel estimation. In this work, a new pilot allocation algorithm based on wavelet transform is presented. The proposed algorithm uses the discrete wavelet transform to analyze the previous channel state information, taking the knowledge of the available subcarriers into account to provide a suboptimal solution for the pilot positions. This solution leads to a non-equispaced pilot placement, which improves the channel estimation and consequently, the system performance. Likewise, the introduced algorithm allows a reduction of the number of necessary pilots, which aids in increasing the data rate. Finally, simulation results corroborate the effectiveness of the algorithm in dynamic channel scenarios. 相似文献

Image pre-processing is a critical stage in computer vision systems, with greater relevance when the input images are captured in outdoor environments because the pictures could contain low contrast and modified colors. A common condition present in outdoor images is haze. In this work, a new dehazing algorithm based on dark channel prior mathematical morphology operations (opening and dilation), and a Gaussian filter, is proposed. Moreover, the proposed algorithm performance is compared qualitatively and quantitatively against previously reported algorithms. The tremendous development of nanotechnology is bringing us closer to the dream of clinical application of nanoparticles in photothermal therapies of tumors. This requires the use of specific nanoparticles that must be highly biocompatible, efficient light‐to‐heat converters and fluorescent markers. Temperature reading by the heating nanoparticles during therapy appears of paramount importance to keep at a minimum the collateral damage that could arise from undesirable excessive heating. In this work, this thermally controlled therapy is possible by using Nd3+ ion‐doped LaF3 nanocrystals. Because of the particular optical features of Nd3+ ions at high doping concentrations, these nanoparticles are capable of in vivo photothermal heating, fluorescent tumor localization and intratumoral thermal sensing. The successful photothermal therapy experiments here presented highlight the importance of controlling therapy parameters based on intratumoral temperature measurements instead of on the traditionally used skin temperature measurements. In fact, significant differences between intratumoral and skin temperatures do exist and could lead to the appearance of excessive collateral damage. These results open a new avenue for the real application of nanoparticle‐based photothermal therapy at clinical level. 相似文献

Solid‐state lithium metal (Li°) batteries (SSLMBs) are believed to be the most promising technologies to tackle the safety concerns and the insufficient energy density encountered in conventional Li‐ion batteries. Solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) inherently own good processability and flexibility, enabling large‐scale preparation of SSLMBs. To minimize the growth of Li° dendrites and cell polarization in SPE‐based SSLMBs, an additive‐containing single Li‐ion conductive SPE is reported. The characterization results show that a small dose of electrolyte additive (2 wt%) substantially increases the ionic conductivity of single Li‐ion conductive SPEs as well as the interfacial compatibility between electrode and SPE, allowing the cycling of SPE‐based cells with good electrochemical performance. This work may provide a paradigm shift on the design of highly cationic conductive electrolytes, which are essential for developing safe and high‐performance rechargeable batteries. 相似文献

In this paper we present the results of an empirical study investigating the performance of TETRA (TErrestrial Trunked RAdio) in a Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET) for safety related railway traffic applications. The Short Data Service (SDS) of TETRA in the Direct Mode Operation (DMO) allows an infrastructure-less exchange of traffic relevant information between vehicles in range of the communication. The propagation channel in case of such a direct (base station free) communication between railway vehicles underlies specific effects, which are not equivalent to other well known terrestrial mobile scenarios. We will present measurements covering urban, suburban and rural environments along a regional railway network in the south of Bavaria. Beside different operational conditions such as front, rear, and flank approaches of trains, we investigated several topological scenarios on both, single and double track sections along the line. We will also discuss the observed characteristic changes in narrow band signal attenuation and Doppler spectra for passages through forests, hilly areas, stations and a tunnel. We determined statistics for the transmission delay of messages and the message erasure rates for single and multi user access on a single common carrier for different transmission intervals. Finally, the quality of service for the envisaged safety applications is assessed. 相似文献
