Piezo-laminated thin beams have been analyzed with induced strain actuation using Kirchhoff’s hypothesis
and von Kármán strain displacement relations. Extremizing the Lagrangian of the system derives
the governing nonlinear partial differential equations for the beam. Eliminating the in-plane displacement,
an integro-partial differential equation of motion is obtained in terms of the transverse displacement.
A deflection function that satisfies the simply supported boundary conditions is assumed to get the
system equation as a nonlinear second order ordinary differential equation in time, which is of Duffing’s
type. The solution of the problem is obtained through exact integration. Results are presented for frequency

In this study, curcumin loaded chitin nanogels (CCNGs) were developed using biocompatible and biodegradable chitin with an anticancer curcumin drug. Chitin, as well as curcumin, is insoluble in water. However, the developed CCNGs form a very good and stable dispersion in water. The CCNGs were analyzed by DLS, SEM and FTIR and showed spherical particles in a size range of 70-80 nm. The CCNGs showed higher release at acidic pH compared to neutral pH. The cytotoxicity of the nanogels were analyzed on human dermal fibroblast cells (HDF) and A375 (human melanoma) cell lines and the results show that CCNGs have specific toxicity on melanoma in a concentration range of 0.1-1.0 mg mL(-1), but less toxicity towards HDF cells. The confocal analysis confirmed the uptake of CCNGs by A375. The apoptotic effect of CCNGs was analyzed by a flow-cytometric assay and the results indicate that CCNGs at the higher concentration of the cytotoxic range showed comparable apoptosis as the control curcumin, in which there was negligible apoptosis induced by the control chitin nanogels. The CCNGs showed a 4-fold increase in steady state transdermal flux of curcumin as compared to that of control curcumin solution. The histopathology studies of the porcine skin samples treated with the prepared materials showed loosening of the horny layer of the epidermis, facilitating penetration with no observed signs of inflammation. These results suggest that the formulated CCNGs offer specific advantage for the treatment of melanoma, the most common and serious type of skin cancer, by effective transdermal penetration. 相似文献

Abstract A comprehensive investigation of the solubility and mass transfer coefficient enhancement of benzene through hydrotropy has been undertaken. The solubility and mass transfer coefficient studies were carried out using hydrotropes such as citric acid, urea, nicotinamide, and sodium salicylate under a wide range of hydrotrope concentrations (0 to 3.0 mol/L) and different system temperatures (303 to 333 K). In India, development of Lead–Lithium Ceramic Breeder (LLCB) blanket is being performed as the primary candidate of Test Blanket Module (TBM) towards DEMO reactor. The LLCB TBM will be tested from the first phase of ITER operation (H-H phase) in one-half of an ITER port no. 2. The Indian TBM R&D program is focused on the development of blanket materials and critical technologies: structural material (IN-RAFMS), breeding materials (Pb–Li, Li2TiO3), development of technologies for Lead–Lithium cooling system (LLCS), helium cooling system (HCS), tritium extraction system (TES) and TBM related fabrication technologies. Hot wall deposited CdSexTe1−x where 0 ≤ x ≤ 1 thin films for solar cell applications have been prepared from a compound synthesized by direct reaction of high purity Cd, Se and Te elements. Crystal structure and composition of the films were analyzed by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope and EDAX. X-ray diffraction studies carried out on pseudo-binary system revealed that the films are polycrystalline in nature with CdSe0.7Te0.3 film exhibiting hexagonal structure and CdSe0.15Te0.85 film exhibiting cubic zinc blende structure. The type of conduction was determined by Hall studies. A novel solar cell with structure n-CdSe0.7Te0.3/p-CdSe0.15Te0.85 has been fabricated and the efficiency was found to be 3.13%. 相似文献

Deep eutectic solvents are emerging green solvents that have potential in many separation processes. This study investigates the performance of choline‐based deep eutectic solvents in the extraction of tocopherols and tocotrienols (collectively known as tocols) from palm oil, a major natural source of tocols. Deep eutectic solvents comprised of choline chloride salt and selected carboxylic acids as hydrogen bond donors were prepared and used in the extraction of tocols from crude palm oil by liquid–liquid extraction. Tocols concentration in the extracted product was at least double that in the control (8671 mg/kg compared to 3285 mg/kg, respectively). Increasing the amount of the deep eutectic solvents increased the tocols concentration in the extracted product up to 18,525 mg/kg, but the yields lowered from 4 % to less than 1 %. The tocols profile was significantly improved by the increase of the tocotrienols fraction in the products from 80.8 to 99.8 %. This study showed that unique interaction between the selected deep eutectic solvents with the tocols make it possible to selectively separate individual tocols in palm oil, where products with fractions rich in tocotrienols and low in tocopherols (particularly α‐tocopherol) are favorable. 相似文献

Electrochemical behavior of palladium (II) chloride in 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride has been investigated by various electrochemical transient techniques using glassy carbon working electrode at different temperatures (343-373 K). Cyclic voltammogram consisted of a prominent reduction wave at −0.61 V (vs. Pd) due to the reduction of Pd(II) to Pd, and two oxidation waves at −0.26 and 0.31 V. A nucleation loop is observed at −0.53 V. The diffusion coefficient of palladium (II) in bmimCl (∼10−7 cm2/s) was determined and the energy of activation (63 kJ/mol) was deduced from the cyclic voltammograms at various temperatures. Nucleation and growth of palladium on glassy carbon working electrode has been investigated by chronoamperometry and chronopotentiometry. The growth and decay of chronocurrents measured for palladium deposition has been found to follow the instantaneous nucleation model with three-dimensional growth of nuclei. The surface morphology of the deposit obtained at various applied potentials revealed the formation of dendrites immediately after nucleation and spread in all the directions with time. 相似文献

Chitin (CT), the well-known natural biopolymer and chitosan (CS) (bio-based or “artificial polymer”) are non-toxic, biodegradable and biocompatible in nature. The advantages of these biomaterials are such that, they can be easily processed into different forms such as membranes, sponges, gels, scaffolds, microparticles, nanoparticles and nanofibers for a variety of biomedical applications such as drug delivery, gene therapy, tissue engineering and wound healing. Present review focuses on the diverse applications of CT and CS membranes and scaffolds for drug delivery, tissue engineering and targeted regenerative medicine. The chitinous scaffolds of marine sponges’ origin are discussed here for the first time. These CT based scaffolds obtained from Porifera possess remarkable and unique properties such as hydration, interconnected channels and diverse structural architecture. This review will provide a brief overview of CT and CS membranes and scaffolds toward different kinds of delivery applications such as anticancer drug delivery, osteogenic drug delivery, and growth factor delivery, because of their inimitable release behavior, degradation profile, mucoadhesive nature, etc. The review also provides an overview of the key features of CT and CS membranes and scaffolds such as their biodegradability, cytocompatibility and mechanical properties toward applications in tissue engineering and wound healing. 相似文献
