This study is part of a larger research project centering on personal self-regulation of development in adulthood. Cross-sectional, longitudinal, and correlational findings are presented for selected parameters of personal development (subjective developmental attainment, self-corrective tendency, personal control over development, depressive outlook on personal development, and perceived marital support) derived from questionnaire data. The findings highlight the importance of development-related control efforts and beliefs for achieving a subjectively favorable balance of developmental gains and losses and for maintaining an optimistic perspective in middle and later adulthood. Previous studies have probed the structural basis of ligandselectivity in the mu, delta and kappa opioid receptors throughthe application of molecular modeling techniques in concertwith the `messageaddress' concept. Here, this approachwas used in an attempt to rationalize the unique pharmacologicalprofile of a recently cloned novel opioid receptor, ZFOR1 (ZebraFishOpioid Receptor 1). Specifically, a model of the transmembranedomains of ZFOR1 was constructed and used to explore the bindingmodes of various prototypical opioid ligands. The results showthat the `message' portion of the binding pocket of ZFOR1 ishighly conserved; hence, the binding modes of non-selectiveopioid ligands are well preserved. In contrast, a small numberof variant residues at the extracellular end of the bindingpocket, particularly Lys288 (VI:26) and Trp304 (VII:03), areshown to create adverse steric interactions with all delta andkappa selective ligands examined, thereby disrupting their bindingmodes. The thermal resistances of the Lactococcus lactis phages P008 (a heat-sensitive wide-spread phage) and P680 (a heat-resistant phage) suspended in milk and in solutions supplemented with milk components were studied to elucidate the protective role of milk on phage inactivation. For both phages a decrease of inactivation was observed in casein solution. Furthermore, the inactivation kinetics of the phages in whey, in whey cream (3.5%, 20%, 30% fat) and in whey protein concentrate (0.7%, 5%, 10% protein) were tested. The inactivation experiments in whey cream and in whey protein concentrate having different concentrations of fat and protein revealed that fat had no influence on the inactivation, while, in contrast, the presence of protein had a protective effect. 相似文献

This article discusses the methodological problems of integrating scientometric methods into a qualitative study. Integrative
attempts of this kind are poorly supported by the methodologies of both the sociology of science and scientometrics. Therefore
it was necessary to develop a project-specific methodological approach that linked scientometric methods to theoretical considerations.
The methodological approach is presented and used to discuss general methodological problems concerning the relation between
(qualitative) theory and scientometric methods. This discussion enables some conclusions to be drawn as to the relations that
exist between scientometrics and the sociology of science.

Miniaturization of macroscopic mechanical systems enables the opening of new areas of application for micro technological
systems. Because of technological restrictions, especially when applying miniaturized conventional manufacturing techniques,
shape and material deviations cannot be scaled down in the same dimension like micro parts. Thus, the long-term objective
is to ensure the functioning by appropriate design measures. In doing so, determination of the transfer behavior by modeling
and simulation is required. This work presents two ways for ensuring the required properties of micro gears and describes
how the results do correlate. The experimental way uses the radial composite inspection as it is used in the macroscopic world.
The simulative way deploys a rolling simulation by utilization of finite element analysis. The virtual prototypes are originated
on measured real test gears. When comparing experiment and simulation of the rolling behavior, in some short and long wave
areas deviations can be recognized. These can be ascribed to the reduction from three to two dimensions when modeling. Other
deviations might be based on inaccuracies when mounting into the test rig. In other areas quite good correlations of test

A high-isolation, 16×16 crosspoint switch is reported, capable of aggregate data throughput of 160 Gb/s with low crosstalk and output jitter. Each of the 16 fully asynchronous channels can transmit data at rates up to 10 Gb/s with a worst case r.m.s. output jitter of 4 ps. The flash flood of Braunsbach – engineering analysis of the building damage At the end of May to the beginning of June, a series of extreme rainfall events occurred in the southern part of Germany, which triggered some severe flash floods with significant building damage in the affected municipalities. The devastating flash flood of May 29, 2016 in Braunsbach in the district Schwäbisch Hall in Baden‐Württemberg caused heavy structural damage to some of the approximately 130 affected buildings. The paper gives an overview of the building damages documented immediately after the event. The damages cases were classified and assessed using the evaluation system of the EDAC‐flood damage model developed at the Earthquake Damage Analysis Center (EDAC) of the Bauhaus‐Universität Weimar. The analysis illustrates the particularities of the damage patterns due to flash floods compared to conventional river floods. 相似文献
