We report on highly efficient transmission gratings in fused silica with a grating period of 800 nm generated by electron-beam lithography. At a wavelength of 1060 nm, 95% diffraction efficiency is achieved under Littrow conditions. The damage threshold, extremely enhanced compared with conventional gold-coated diffraction gratings, makes these gratings the key elements in high average power (>100 W) femtosecond fiber chirped-pulse amplification systems.  相似文献

This study gives a review on the process of identification of significant pressures and impacts, which is an important part of river basin planning and in particular for implementing the EU Water Framework Directive (WFD) (2000/60/EC). The questions: what is a "significant pressure" in terms of the WFD? which sources and driving forces have to be regarded? which data can be used? which pressure on a water body is significant? and which implications and requirements result from the identification process?--should be considered. The European Commission requires reporting from all Member States about the status of the water bodies within a river basin district and about the risk of failing the environmental objectives by the end of 2004. Therefore, a number of prevailing projects across Europe aim to develop a guideline on a common understanding of the most effective approach towards the identification of significant anthropogenic pressures, and the analysis of potential impacts including the identification of appropriate tools and models. In such a guideline suitable and intelligent criteria have to be developed in order to enable a uniform assessment of the anthropogenic pressures within a river basin district.  相似文献

The branch information system “Hydrogeology” is part of the environmental information system of the federal state Saxony/Germany. The system comprises the decentral and the central data collection, central data storage and management as well as methods for data processing. As yet, data stocks and software were implemented particularly for point related data including applications for data collection, for the interpretation of pumping tests and grain size analysis as well as visualization. Maps are based on the implemented software applications and database structures. These data are an essential help in decisive processes for administrative objectives with a hydrogeologial and environmental background. Databases and methods for area-related data have been built up and already used for generation of maps.  相似文献

Antiproliferative properties of molecular regulators of lipid metabolism have been increasingly studied during recent years. Discussion is ongoing concerning optimal treatment conditions and assays used for monitoring proliferation and cytotoxicity. The objective of the present work was to optimize methods and treatment conditions used for studying antiproliferative effects of fatty acids and analogs, represented by palmitic acid (PA) and the β-oxidation-restricted fatty acid analog tetradecylthioacetic acid (TTA), in rat (BT4Cn) and human (D54Mg and GaMg) glioma cell lines. Changes in [3H]thymidine incorporation preceded changes in cell number in TTA-treated glioma cell cultures, and the growth inhibition was more significantly expressed by [3H]thymidine incorporation than cell number. Addition of bovine serum albumin decreased cellular fatty acid uptake and reduced the effects of TTA and PA on [3H]thymidine incorporation. Determination of the antiproliferative effect of TTA in BT4Cn cells by MTT conversion and [3H]thymidine incorporation yielded concordant results. TTA-mediated reduction in cell number corresponded to reduction in cellular protein and total DNA content in BT4Cn cells. Reduced growth potential in TTA-treated multicellular D54Mg and GaMg spheroids supported the findings from monolayer cultures. In conclusion, cell density, treatment period, fatty acid administration, and methods for growth determination may profoundly influence the outcome of cell growth experiments. Thus, experimental conditions should be carefully controlled when performing cell growth experiments, and effects on cell growth should preferably be confirmed by different methods. The de novo design of a molecular adapter for directed associationand covalent linkage of two polypeptides is presented. Usingpeptides containing charged amino acid residues and an additionalcysteine residue (AlaCysLys8 and AlaCysGlu8) we demonstratethat the electrostatic interaction promotes the associationof two synthetic peptides and, subsequently, disulfide bondformation. The reaction depends on both the redox potentialand on the ionic strength of the buffer. Varying the redox potential,the interaction of the peptides was quantified by a G0' of 6.6± 0.2 kcal/mol. Heterodimerization of the peptides ishighly specific, a competition of association by other cysteinecontaining compounds could not be observed. Two proteins comprisingcysteine-containing polyionic fusion peptides, a modified Fabfragment and an -glucosidase fusion, could be specifically conjugatedby directed association and subsequent disulfide bond formation.Both proteins retain their functional characteristics withinthe bifunctional conjugate: enzymatic activity of the glucosidaseand antigen-binding capacity of the Fab fragment are equivalentto the non-conjugated components.  相似文献

This paper proposes the use of cylinders as primary invariant sets to be used in certain state-constrained control designs. Following the idea originally introduced by O'Dell, the primary invariant set is intersected with the state constraints to yield sets which retain the invariance under some conditions. Although several results presented here apply to fairly general nonlinear systems and primary invariant sets of any shape, the focus is on constrained sliding-mode control (SMC) using infinite cylinders as the primary invariant set. Their use is motivated by a coordinate transformation where the sliding motion is decoupled from the overall convergence to the origin. Robust positive invariance conditions are given for cylinders having convex and compact cross sections. For the case of cylinders with ellipsoidal cross sections, the invariance condition is given in the form of a linear matrix inequality. Further, a decision procedure to qualify each state constraint is given as a tool for the selection of the switching gain. A numerical example for a third-order plant illustrates the method.  相似文献

In this paper, we derive an estimation method that jointly estimates the parameters of the concentrated propagation paths and the distributed scattering component that are frequently observed in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channel sounding measurements. The joint angular-delay domain model leads to a correlation matrix with high dimensionality, which makes direct implementation of a maximum-likelihood (ML) estimator unfeasible. We derive low-complexity methods for computing approximate ML estimates that exploit the structure of the covariance matrices. We propose an iterative two-step procedure that alternates between the estimation of the parameters of the concentrated propagation paths and the parameters of the distributed scattering. For the distributed scattering, the estimator first optimizes the parameters describing their time-delay structure. Then, using the estimated time-delay parameters, the parameters of the angular distributions are optimized. We present simulation results and compare the estimated time-delay and angular distributions to the actual distributions, demonstrating that high-quality estimates are obtained. The large sample performance of the estimator is studied by establishing the Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB) and comparing it to the variances of the estimates. The simulations show that the variance of the proposed estimation technique reaches the CRLB for relatively small sample size for most parameters, and no bias is observed.  相似文献
