Hybrid Runtime Management of Space-Time Heterogeneity for Parallel Structured Adaptive Applications

Structured adaptive mesh refinement (SAMR) techniques provide an effective means for dynamically concentrating computational effort and resources to appropriate regions in the application domain. However, due to their dynamism and space-time heterogeneity, scalable parallel implementation of SAMR applications remains a challenge. This paper investigates hybrid runtime management strategies and presents an adaptive hierarchical multipartitioner (AHMP) framework. AHMP dynamically applies multiple partitioners to different regions of the domain, in a hierarchical manner, to match the local requirements of the regions. Key components of the AHMP framework include a segmentation-based clustering algorithm (SBC) that can efficiently identify regions in the domain with relatively homogeneous partitioning requirements, mechanisms for characterizing the partitioning requirements of these regions, and a runtime system for selecting, configuring, and applying the most appropriate partitioner to each region. Further, to address dynamic resource situations for long-running applications, AHMP provides a hybrid partitioning strategy (HPS) that involves application-level pipelining, trading space for time when resources are sufficiently large and underutilized, and an application-level out-of-core strategy (ALOC), trading time for space when resources are scarce in order to enhance the survivability of applications. The AHMP framework has been implemented and experimentally evaluated on up to 1,280 processors of the IBM SP4 cluster at the San Diego Supercomputer Center.     

型钢矫直中产生缺陷的原因及改进

结合邯郸钢铁集团公司型棒材厂型材矫直后头、尾部普遍存在的问题,分析了产生问题的原因,通过采取一些技术措施产生了一定的效果,进一步提出了对矫直机结构的改进方案。     

High-T/sub 0/ strain-compensated InGaAsSb-AlGaAsSb quantum-well lasers emitting at 2.43 /spl mu/m

Strain-compensated InGaAsSb-AlGaAsSb quantum-well (QW) lasers emitting near 2.5 /spl mu/m have been grown by solid-source molecular beam epitaxy. The relatively high arsenic composition causing a tensile strain in the Al/sub 0.25/GaAs/sub 0.08/Sb barriers lowers the valence band edge and the hole energy level, leading to an increased hole confinement and improved laser performance. A 60% external differential efficiency in pulsed mode was achieved for 1000-/spl mu/m-long lasers emitting at 2.43 /spl mu/m. A characteristic temperature T/sub 0/ as high as 163 K and a lasing-wavelength temperature dependence of 1.02 nm//spl deg/C were obtained at room temperature. For 2000 /spl times/ 200 /spl mu/m/sup 2/ broad-area three-QW lasers without lateral current confinement, a low pulsed threshold of 275 A/cm/sup 2/ was measured.     

Testing the robustness of CIECAM02

CIE TC8‐01 has adopted a new color appearance model: CIECAM02¹ replaces the CIECAM97s.² The new model consists of a number of refinements and simplifications of the CIECAM97s color appearance model. Numerical integration using Wang-Landau sampling

We report a new application of Wang-Landau sampling to numerical integration that is straightforward to implement. It is applicable to a wide variety of integrals without restrictions and is readily generalized to higher-dimensional problems. The feasibility of the method results from a reinterpretation of the density of states in statistical physics to an appropriate measure for numerical integration. The properties of this algorithm as a new kind of Monte Carlo integration scheme are investigated with some simple integrals, and a potential application of the method is illustrated by the evaluation of integrals arising in perturbation theory of quantum many-body systems.     

倒灰法打水泥塞工艺技术

倒灰法打水泥塞工艺是利用抽汲绳将油管或专用装灰筒及倒灰工具下到预定深度，在1m范围内上提下放数次，使倒灰孔打开，实现水泥浆从油管流入井筒，同时胶塞从护套中推入套管实现地层封堵。与常规打水泥塞方法相比较，该工艺具有施工时间短、工序少、一次成功率高、成本低等特点。经过现场试验，效果良好，在吉林油田已推广使用。     

对梅山技工培训工作方向之浅见

根据梅山公司发展的需要，以提高技工岗位绩效和缩小技工现有技能水平与理想绩效行为差距为目的，对技工培训的今后工作方向提出了个人的看法。要想促进技工培训工作更上一层楼，必须进一步完善培训体系，遵循ADIE进行运作；按需求分析，确立培训目标，制定切实可行的计划，编制针对性和可操作性强的技工培训教材，以“请进来、送出去”的方法培训和优化师资力量，不断改进教学方法。     

Study on ancient Chinese imitated GE ware by INAA and WDXRF

Imitated GE ware was one of the most famous products of Jingdezhen porcelain field in Ming dynasty (AD 1368-1644). The exterior features of its body and glaze are very marvelous. Black foot, purple mouth and crazing glaze are the main features of imitated GE ware. Until now, the key conditions of resulting these features are not clearly identified. In order to find the critical elements for firing these features, instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA) and wavelength-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (WDXRF) were used to determine the element abundance patterns of imitated GE ware body and glaze. The experimental data was compared with that of imitated Longquan celadon and of Longquan celadon. The analytical results indicated that Fe, Ti and Na were the critical elements. The body of imitated GE ware which contains high Fe and Ti are the basic conditions of firing its black body, black foot and purple mouth. The glaze of imitated GE ware which contains high Na is the main condition of producing its crazing glaze. Na is the critical element which enlarges the difference in expansion coefficients between the glaze and body of imitated GE ware. Furthermore, Zijin soil was added into kaolin to make the body rich in Fe and Ti. And something which was rich in Na was used to produce crazing glaze in the manufacturing process of imitated GE ware.     

18-8型不锈钢连铸坯振痕深度的控制及效果

简述了18—8不锈钢的凝固特点以及影响连铸坯振痕深度的因素。通过优化连铸振动工艺，提高拉速与振频，选择适宜的保护渣等，有效地降低了18—8型不锈钢连铸坯振痕到0．33μm以下，达到了铸坯无修磨轧制要求。
