In this paper, a supply chain system is viewed as a maintainable system, and the economic-statistical design of a likelihood ratio control chart with a maintenance application is considered for this system. The supply chain system is described by a three-state: normal state, warning state and failure state. A likelihood ratio control chart is used to monitor the system given that only categorical observations can be obtained. When the chart signals, a full inspection is performed to determine the actual system state (normal or warning), and preventive maintenance is immediately performed in the warning state. In addition, the supply chain system must be corrected upon failure (i.e. corrective maintenance), and should be maintained in a scheduled time (i.e. planned maintenance). A mathematical model is developed for the joint optimisation of the control chart parameters and planned maintenance time based on renewal theory. An example is presented to illustrate how to determine the optimal design parameters. The purpose of this work was to analyze the deformability properties of different timolol maleate (TM)-loaded transfersomes by extrusion. This was performed because elastic liposomes may contribute to the elevation of amount and rate of drug permeation through the corneal membrane. This paper describes the optimization of a transfersome formulation by use of Taguchi orthogonal experimental design and two different statistical analysis approaches were utilized. The amount of cholesterol (F1), the amount of edge-activator (F2), the distribution of the drug into the vesicle (F3), the addition of stearylamine (F4) and the type of edge-activator (F5) were selected as causal factors. The deformability index, the phosphorous recovery, the vesicle size, the polydispersity index, the zeta potential and percentage of drug entrapped were fixed as the dependent variables and these responses were evaluated for each formulation. Two different statistical analysis approaches were applied. The better statistical approach was determined by comparing their prediction errors, where regression analysis provided better optimized responses than marginal means. From the study, an optimized formulation of TM-loaded transfersomes was prepared and obtained for the proposed ophthalmic delivery for the treatment of open angle glaucoma. It was found that the lipid to surfactant ratio and type of surfactant are the main key factors for determining the flexibility of the bilayer of transfersomes. From in vitro permeation studies, we can conclude that TM-loaded transfersomes may enhance the corneal transmittance and improve the bioavailability of conventional TM delivery. 相似文献

Although new technologies allow for less effort in prototyping, physical testing still remains an important step in the product development cycle. Well‐planned experiments are useful to guide the decision‐making process. During the design of an experiment, one of the challenges is to balance limited resources and system constraints to obtain useful information. It is common that prototypes are composed of several parts, with some parts more difficult to assemble than others. And, usually, there is only one piece available of each part type and a large number of different setups. Under these conditions, designs with randomization restrictions become attractive approaches. Considering this scenario, a new and additional criterion, minimum setup, to construct split‐plot type designs is presented. Designs with the minimum number of setups of the more difficult parts, which are especially useful for screening purposes in physical prototype testing, are discussed. The use of the proposed criterion combined with minimum aberration for selecting a regular design is shown through a real application in testing car prototypes. As a tool to practitioners, catalogs of selected 32‐run minimum setup minimum aberration split‐split‐plot and split‐split‐split‐plot designs are presented. This article analyzes the simultaneous control of several correlated Poisson variables by using the Variable Dimension Linear Combination of Poisson Variables (VDLCP) control chart, which is a variable dimension version of the LCP chart. This control chart uses as test statistic, the linear combination of correlated Poisson variables in an adaptive way, i.e. it monitors either p1 or p variables (p1 < p) depending on the last statistic value. To analyze the performance of this chart, we have developed software that finds the best parameters, optimizing the out‐of‐control average run length (ARL) for a shift that the practitioner wishes to detect as quickly as possible, restricted to a fixed value for in‐control ARL.
