Strategically fabricated theranostic nanocarrier delivery system is an unmet need in personalized medicine. Herein, this study reports a versatile folate receptor (FR) targeted nanoenvelope delivery system (TNEDS) fabricated with gold core silica shell followed by chitosan–folic acid conjugate surface functionalization by for precise loading of doxorubicin (Dox), resembled as Au@SiO2‐Dox‐CS‐FA. TNEDS possesses up to 90% Dox loading efficiency and internalized through endocytosis pathway leading to pH and redox‐sensitive release kinetics. The superior FR‐targeted cytotoxicity is evaluated by the nanocarrier in comparison with US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)‐approved liposomal Dox conjugate, Lipodox. Moreover, TNEDS exhibits theranostic features through caspase‐mediated apoptosis and envisages high surface plasmon resonance enabling the nanoconstruct as a promising surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) nanotag. Minuscule changes in the biochemical components inside cells exerted by the TNEDS along with the Dox release are evaluated explicitly in a time‐dependent fashion using bimodal SERS/fluorescence nanoprobe. Finally, TNEDS displays superior antitumor response in FR‐positive ascites as well as solid tumor syngraft mouse models. Therefore, this futuristic TNEDS is expected to be a potential alternative as a clinically relevant theranostic nanomedicine to effectively combat neoplasia. 相似文献

We report investigations on polycrystalline LaCo1?x Al x O3 (x = 0–0.9) bulk samples. The solid state synthesized samples showed a coexistence of rhombohedral and monoclinic phases in the intermediate concentrations (0.2 ≤ x ≤ 0.5) and pure rhombohedral phase otherwise. The observed effect of Al doping on dc transport has been analysed on the basis of small polaron hopping mechanism. The magnetisation results presented give evidence of weak ferromagnetism and anomalous temperature dependence of coercivity which we associate to the canting of the localised high-spin Co(III) and anti-symmetric exchange interactions at low temperatures. 相似文献

A linear prediction (LP) filter derived from a complete echo with zero‐phase encoding amplitude is used for recovering anatomical details from a partially acquired echo sequence. The LP filter is shown to reconstruct missing k‐space phase and amplitude information, with errors sufficiently low so as to provide image reconstruction with a contrast‐to‐noise ratio (CNR) ≥ 3. For volume imaging using multislice acquisition, the partial‐echo sequence enables more number of slices to be acquired for a given repetition time period TR. For such sequences, separate predictors are used for reconstruction of missing k‐space data corresponding to each individual slice in the volume. The proposed filtering scheme is shown to achieve results comparable to other partial k‐space approaches such as singularity function analysis (SFA), when the noise content is less than about 0.4%. For higher noise levels, this technique is recommended as a preprocessing step for SFA to track the singularity locations more accurately. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Studies on odor mixture perception suggest that although odor components can often be identified in mixtures, mixtures can also give rise to novel perceptual qualities that are not present in the components. Using an olfactory habituation task, the authors evaluated how the perceptual similarity between components in a mixture affects the perceptual quality of the mixture itself. Rats perceived binary mixtures composed of similar components as different from their 2 components, whereas binary mixtures composed of dissimilar components were perceived as very similar to their components. Results show that for both types of mixtures, pretraining to Component A reduces subsequent learning about Component B in rats trained in the presence of A. In this study, 27 concrete cylinders with a diameter of 152.4 and a height of 304.8 mm were prepared. Among them, 18 cylinders were wrapped using two layers of fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) with six fiber orientations; six cylinders were wrapped using four layers of FRP with fibers in axial or hoop direction only; the remaining three cylinders were used as control. The FRP used was E-glass fiber reinforced ultraviolet (UV) curing vinyl ester. Fifteen coupon specimens were prepared to experimentally determine the tensile strength of the FRP with fibers oriented at 0°, 45°, and 90° from the loading direction. Co-axial compression tests were conducted on the wrapped cylinders and control cylinders. The test results were compared with existing confinement models. It is found that the strength, ductility, and failure mode of FRP wrapped concrete cylinders depend on the fiber orientation and wall thickness. Fibers oriented at a certain angle in between the hoop direction and axial direction may result in strength lower than fibers along hoop or axial direction. A larger database is desired in order to refine the existing design-oriented confinement models. 相似文献

Protein kinase D (PKD) is a novel serine/threonine kinase structurally distinct from all protein kinase C (PKC) isoforms but which like classic and novel PKCs is activated by phorbol esters and diacylglycerol. This study investigated the regulation of PKD in vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC) by physiological regulators of VSMC function and growth factors. Treatment of rabbit aortic VSMC with phorbol ester, angiotensin II and PDGF-BB all stimulated PKD activity in a time- and concentration-dependent manner in VSMC. The effect of angiotensin II was particularly rapid and potent (maximum stimulation within 1 min and at 0.5 nM). In contrast, the maximum effect of PDGF-BB was obtained after 5 min. Other factors, including basic FGF, IGF-I, IGF-II, endothelin-1 and endothelin-2, had no effect on PKD activity in VSMC. These results show for the first time that PKD activity is regulated in VSMC, and is activated by the vasoconstrictor angiotensin II. PKD may be an important mediator for the biological function(s) of one or more PKC isoforms in VSMC and/or may represent a component of a novel PKC-independent signalling pathway in VSMC. 相似文献

The crystal structure and microwave dielectric properties of apatite‐type LiRE9(SiO4)6O2 ceramics (RE = La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, and Er) have been investigated. The densification of lithium apatites has been greatly improved with the addition of 1 wt% LiF. Selected area electron diffraction and X‐ray diffraction (XRD) Rietveld analysis confirm that these compounds belong to the P63/m (No. 176) space group with hexagonal crystal symmetry. The porosity‐corrected relative permittivity was found to decrease with decreasing ionic polarizability of RE3+ ions. Relationships between the structural parameters and microwave dielectric properties have been examined. The observed variation in the quality factor of LiRE9(SiO4)6O2 + 1 wt% LiF ceramics (RE = La, Pr, and Nd) was correlated with average cation covalency (%). The temperature coefficient of resonant frequency was found to depend on the bond valence sum of cations. LiEr9(SiO4)6O2 + 1 wt% LiF ceramics showed good microwave dielectric properties with εr = 12.8, Qu × f = 13000 GHz and τf = +17 ppm/°C. All the compositions showed low coefficient of thermal expansion with thermal conductivity in the range 1.3–2.8 W (m K)?1. 相似文献
