Cross-ply laminates made of carbon/epoxy IM7/977-2 system are investigated. The fatigue study is confined to ambient temperature conditions and zero loading ratio. Damage is characterized by the transverse crack density ρ in the central 90°-layer. The family of experimental fatigue cracking curves (ρ versus N, where N is the number of cycles, for each tensile test maximum stress amplitude) can be replaced with a set of “iso-damage curves”, i.e. contour curves of constant ρ in the σ–log (N) plane. The iso-damage curves approximately constitute a fan of straight lines that intersect at a common point (σe, log (Ns)), where Ns is a very large number of cycles beyond which no more crack appears, and σe is some fatigue limit. Our aim is to propose a simple method to predict fatigue cracking at an arbitrary maximum stress level loading by using data stemming from a constant strain rate test. This method essentially rests upon the construction of the above “iso-damage” curves, using very simple assumptions.  相似文献

This paper focuses on the results of process optimisation and mechanical tests that were used to ascertain the feasibility of using friction stir welding (FSW) to join stringers to skin. The effects of process parameters on weld quality of 1.5-mm 7075-T6 stringers lap-joined on 2.3-mm 2024-T3 skins were investigated. Advancing and retreating side locations on the joint configuration were alternated to determine optimal design arrangements. The effects of travel and rotation speeds on weld quality and defect generation were also investigated. Weld quality was assessed by optical microscopy and bending tests. It was found that: (i) the increase of the welding speed or the decrease of the rotational speed resulted in a reduction of the hooking size and top plate thinning but did not eliminated them, (ii) double pass welds by overlapping the advancing sides improved significantly the weld quality by overriding the hooking defect, and (iii) change of the rotational direction for a counter clockwise with a left-threaded probe eliminated the top sheet thinning defect. Subsequently, FSW lap joints were produced using optimum conditions and underwent extensive mechanical testing program. Several assembly configurations including discontinuous and continuous welds as well as single and double pass welds were produced. The results obtained for cyclic fatigue performance of FSW panels are compared with riveted lap joints of identical geometry. SN curves, bending behaviour, failure locations and defect characterisation are also discussed. It was found that: (i) the tensile strength of FSW joints approached that of the base material but with a significant reduction in the fatigue life, (ii) the probe plunge and removal locations served as the key crack nucleation sites in specimens with discontinuous welds, and (iii) double pass welds with overlapping advancing sides showed outstanding fatigue life and very good tensile properties. The present work provided some valuable insight into both the fabrication and application of FSW on stringer/skin lap joints.  相似文献

Verification techniques are well-suited for automatic test-case generation. They basically need to check the reachability of every test goal and generate test cases for all reachable goals. This is also the basic idea of our CoVeriTest submission. However, the set of test goals is not fixed in CoVeriTest , instead we can configure the set of test goals. For Test-Comp’19, we support the set of all __VERIFIER_error() calls as well as the set of all branches. Thus, we can deal with the two test specifications considered in Test-Comp’19. Since the tasks in Test-Comp are diverse and verification techniques have different strengths and weaknesses, we also do not stick to a single verification technique, but use a hybrid approach that combines multiple techniques. More concrete, CoVeriTest interleaves different verification techniques and allows to configure the cooperation (i.e., information exchange and time limits). To choose from a large set of verification techniques, CoVeriTest is integrated into the analysis framework CPAchecker. For the competition, we interleave CPAchecker’s value and predicate analysis and let both analyses resume their analysis performed in the previous iteration.

It is important to understand fission-product (FP) and kernel micro-structure evolution in TRISO-coated fuel particles. FP behaviour, while central to severe-accident evaluation, impacts: evolution of the kernel oxygen potential governing in turn carbon oxidation (amoeba effect and pressurization); particle pressurization through fission-gas release from the kernel; and coating mechanical resistance via reaction with some FPs (Pd, Cs, Sr). The HFR-Eu1bis experiment irradiated five HTR fuel pebbles containing TRISO-coated UO2 particles and went beyond current HTR specifications (e.g., central temperature of 1523 K). This study presents ceramographic and EPMA examinations of irradiated urania kernels and coatings. Significant evolutions of the kernel (grain structure, porosity, metallic-inclusion size, intergranular bubbles) as a function of temperature are shown. Results concerning FP migration are presented, e.g., significant xenon, caesium and palladium release from the kernel, molybdenum and ruthenium mainly present in metallic precipitates. The observed FP and micro-structural evolutions are interpreted and explanations proposed. The effect of high flux rate and high temperature on fission-gas behaviour, grain-size evolution and kernel swelling is discussed. Furthermore, Cs, Mo and Zr behaviour is interpreted in connection with oxygen-potential. This paper shows that combining state-of-the-art post-irradiation examination and state-of-the-art modelling fundamentally improves understanding of HTR fuel behaviour.  相似文献

The impact of Gram-negative bacteria on sensory characteristics and production of volatile compounds as well as biogenic amines (BA) in the core of an uncooked pressed type model cheese was investigated in the presence of a defined complex microbial consortium. Eleven strains of Gram-negative bacteria, selected on the basis of their biodiversity and in vitro BA-production ability, were individually tested in a model cheese. Four out of 6 strains of Enterobacteriaceae (Citrobacter freundii UCMA 4217, Klebsiella oxytoca 927, Hafnia alvei B16 and Proteus vulgaris UCMA 3780) reached counts close to 6 log CFU g−1 in the model cheese. In core of cheeses inoculated with Gram-negative bacteria, only slight differences were observed for microbial counts (Enterococcus faecalis or Lactobacillus plantarum count differences below 1 log CFU g−1), acetate concentration (differences below 200 mg kg−1) and texture (greater firmness) in comparison to control cheeses. Cheese core colour, odour and volatile compound composition were not modified. Although ornithine, the precursor of putrescine, was present in all cheeses, putrescine was only detected in cheeses inoculated with H. alvei B16 and never exceeded 2.18 mmol kg−1 cheese dry matter. Cadaverine was only detected in cheeses inoculated with H. alvei B16, K. oxytoca 927, Halomonas venusta 4C1A or Morganella morganii 3A2A but at lower concentrations (<1.05 mmol kg−1 cheese dry matter), although lysine was available. Only insignificant amounts of the detrimental BA histamine and tyramine, as well as isopentylamine, tryptamine or phenylethylamine, were produced in the cheese model by any of the Gram-negative strains, including those which produced these BA at high levels in vitro.  相似文献

In Hashimoto’s thyroiditis (HT), oxidative stress (OS) is driven by Th1 cytokines’ response interfering with the normal function of thyrocytes. OS results from an imbalance between an excessive production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and a lowering of antioxidant production. Moreover, OS has been shown to inhibit Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1), which is able to prevent hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-1α stabilization. The aims of this study were to determine the involvement of NADPH-oxidases (NOX), SIRT1, and HIF-1α in HT pathophysiology as well as the status of antioxidant proteins such as peroxiredoxin 1 (PRDX1), catalase, and superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1). The protein expressions of NOX2, NOX4, antioxidant enzymes, SIRT1, and HIF-1α, as well as glucose transporter-1 (GLUT-1) and vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), were analyzed by Western blot in primary cultures of human thyrocytes that were or were not incubated with Th1 cytokines. The same proteins were also analyzed by immunohistochemistry in thyroid samples from control and HT patients. In human thyrocytes incubated with Th1 cytokines, NOX4 expression was increased whereas antioxidants, such as PRDX1, catalase, and SOD1, were reduced. Th1 cytokines also induced a significant decrease of SIRT1 protein expression associated with an upregulation of HIF-1α, GLUT-1, and VEGF-A proteins. With the exception of PRDX1 and SOD1, similar results were obtained in HT thyroids. OS due to an increase of ROS produced by NOX4 and a loss of antioxidant defenses (PRDX1, catalase, SOD1) correlates to a reduction of SIRT1 and an upregulation of HIF 1α, GLUT-1, and VEGF-A. Our study placed SIRT1 as a key regulator of OS and we, therefore, believe it could be considered as a potential therapeutic target in HT.  相似文献

The metabolites from leucine degradation are involved in dry fermented sausage aroma. The catabolism of leucine by a strain of Carnobacterium piscicola was studied directly in the growth medium with 3H-labelled leucine to investigate the effect of five parameters: phase of growth, pH, oxygen, glucose and alpha-ketoisocaproic acid. Resting cells (RC) were also incubated with 3H-labelled leucine. The radioactive metabolites from leucine catabolism were analysed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). At pH 5.4 and 7.2, the main metabolites detected were 3-methyl butanal, 3-methyl butanol and alpha-ketoisocaproic acid. At pH 6.5, the leucine catabolism was maximum and was characterised by a high production of 3-methyl butanoic acid. Leucine catabolism was most important during the exponential phase of growth. The addition of alpha-ketoisocaproic acid at 1%, glucose at levels of 0.5% to 2% and shaking of the growth medium increased leucine catabolism.  相似文献

During eating, foods are submitted to two main oral processes-chewing, including biting and crushing with teeth, and progressive impregnation by saliva resulting in the formation of a cohesive bolus and swallowing of the bolus. Texture influences the chewing behavior, including mastication and salivation, and in turn, these parameters influence texture perception and bolus formation. During this complex mouth process, flavor compounds are progressively released from the food matrix. This phenomenon is mainly dependent on the food texture, the composition and in-mouth breakdown, and on saliva impregnation and activity, but an individual's anatomical and physiological aspects characteristics should also be taken into account. This article reviews the knowledge and progresses on in-mouth processes leading to food breakdown and flavor release and affecting perception. Relationships between food texture and composition, food breakdown, oral physiology, and flavor release are developed and discussed. This review includes not only the mechanical aspects of oral physiology but also the biological aspects such as the influence of saliva composition, activity, and regulation on flavor perception. In vitro and in silico approaches are also described.  相似文献
