Bromate / cyclohexanone redox system was investigated as a novel initiator for graft copolymerization of N-vinyl formamide onto pregelled starch. A number of variables in the grafting reaction were investigated including N-vinyl formamide, cyclohexanone, bromate ion, sulphuric acid and pregelled starch concentrations, material to liquor ratio along with polymerization time and temperature. The graft copolymers were evaluated in terms of graft yield, graft reaction efficiency and homopolymer formation (%). The optimum conditions for grafting of N-vinyl formamide onto pregelled starch are: N-vinyl formamide 50% based on weight of substrate, cyclohexanone 15 mmol / l, bromate ion, 30 mmol / l, liquor ratio 10, pH 6, time 120 min., and temperature 40°C. On the other hand, characterizations of the resultant copolymers with respect to swelling capacity, solubility %, metal ion up-take and suitability as a sizing agent for cotton textiles were investigated. The results obtained reflect that, the resultant copolymer shows better results for the aforementioned properties in comparison with that obtained from native pregelled starch as a starting substrate.  相似文献

A simple and novel method based on high‐performance liquid chromatography with dual‐wavelength ultraviolet detection at 234 and 254 nm has been developed for the determination of underivatized N‐nitrosodiethanolamine in coconut diethanolamide. Dense conductive ceramic composites of MgAl2O4 and MoSi2 were processed using combustion synthesis under‐load methodology. The starting reactants were blends of MoO3, SiO2, MgO, and Al powders. The study revealed that to obtain dense composite with homogeneous microstructure, 30 wt. % of MoSi2, 18.5 μm Al average particle size, and 175 MPa load are required. The produced dense composite was found to have a low apparent porosity (<1.0 vol. %), moderate density 4.61 g/cm3, and low electrical resistivity 0.3 Ωcm. The dense composite exhibited excellent thermodynamic stability between its phases at 1400°C in open atmosphere.  相似文献

Two palladium(II) nitroaryl complexes trans-[bromo(p-nitrophenyl)bis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(II)] 1 and trans-[bromo(2,4-dinitrophenyl)bis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(II)] 2 have been synthesized. The complexes were characterized by FTIR and NMR (1H, 13C and 31P) spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The molecular structure of complex 2, as confirmed by X-ray crystallography, reveals that the Pd atom and its neighboring groups (two PPh3, Br and phenylene group) lie in a slightly distorted square plane. In the UV–Vis spectra of the complexes 1 and 2, the palladium to aryl charge transfer bands were observed. The emission peaks from the singlet excited states (S1  S0) were observed in the photoluminescence spectra of the complexes. The thermal stability of the complexes has been studied by thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). TGA data showed that both complexes are thermally stable up to 200 °C, and complex 1 is more stable than 2. The catalytic efficiency of the new palladium(II) complexes was studied as demonstrated using the Sonogashira coupling reactions with good yields. The experimental results suggest that the Sonogashira coupling reactions can be performed at moderate temperature (50 °C) using these new palladium(II) complexes as catalysts.  相似文献

A numerical study has been carried out to investigate the effect of aspect ratio on heat transfer by natural convection of nanofluid taking Cu nano particles and the water as based fluid. The flow is laminar, steady state, axisymmetric two-dimensional in a vertical cylindrical channel filled with porous media. Heat is generated uniformly along the center of the channel with its vertical surface remain with cooled constant wall temperature and insulated horizontal top and bottom surfaces. The governing equations which used are continuity, momentum and energy equations using Darcy law and Boussinesq's approximation which are transformed to dimensionless equations. The finite difference approach is used to obtain all the computational results using the MATLAB-7 program. The parameters affected on the system are Rayleigh number ranging within (10≤ Ra ≤ 103), aspect ratio (1 ≤ As 〈 5) and the volume fraction (0 ≤0 〈 0.2). The results obtained are presented graphically in the form of streamline and isotherm contour plots and the results show that as ~ increase from 0.01 to 0.2 the value of the mean Nusselt number increase 50.4% for Ra = 1,000.  相似文献

A nonlocal strain gradient model is developed in this research to analyse the nonlinear frequencies of functionally graded porous curved nanotubes. It is assumed that the curved nanotube is in contact with a two-parameter nonlinear elastic foundation and is also subjected to the uniform temperature rise. The non-classical theory presented for curved nanotubes contains a nonlocal parameter and a material length scale parameter which can capture the size effect. A power law distribution function is used to describe the graded properties through the thickness direction of curved nanotubes. The even dispersion pattern is used to model the porosities distribution. The high-order shear deformation theory and the von Kármán type of geometric non-linearity are utilized to obtain the nonlinear governing equations of the structure. The size-dependent equations of motion for the large amplitude vibrations of curved nanotubes are obtained by employing Hamilton’s principle. The analytical solutions are extracted for the curved nanotube with immovable hinged-hinged boundary conditions. Size-dependent frequencies of the curved nanotube exposed to thermal field are obtained using the two-step perturbation technique and Galerkin procedure. The effects of important parameters such as nonlocal and length scale parameters, temperature field, elastic foundation, porosity, power law index and geometrical parameters are studied in detail.

Radial heat transfer in laminar pipe flow is characterized by a wide temperature distribution over the pipe cross‐section. We use a validated Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) model to show that the superimposition of a transverse vibration on the steady laminar flow of a Newtonian fluid moving in a pipe with an isothermal wall, generates considerable chaotic flow and radial mixing which result in a large enhancement in wall heat transfer as well as a considerably more uniform radial temperature field. Transverse vibration also causes the temperature profile to develop very rapidly in the axial direction reducing the thermal entrance length by a large factor. These effects are dependent on vibration amplitude and frequency, and fluid viscosity. © 2010 American Institute of Chemical Engineers AIChE J, 2011  相似文献

A low‐cost and easy‐to‐fabricate microchip remains a key challenge for the development of true point‐of‐care (POC) diagnostics. Cellulose paper and plastic are thin, light, flexible, and abundant raw materials, which make them excellent substrates for mass production of POC devices. Herein, a hybrid paper–plastic microchip (PPMC) is developed, which can be used for both single and multiplexed detection of different targets, providing flexibility in the design and fabrication of the microchip. The developed PPMC with printed electronics is evaluated for sensitive and reliable detection of a broad range of targets, such as liver and colon cancer protein biomarkers, intact Zika virus, and human papillomavirus nucleic acid amplicons. The presented approach allows a highly specific detection of the tested targets with detection limits as low as 102 ng mL?1 for protein biomarkers, 103 particle per milliliter for virus particles, and 102 copies per microliter for a target nucleic acid. This approach can potentially be considered for the development of inexpensive and stable POC microchip diagnostics and is suitable for the detection of a wide range of microbial infections and cancer biomarkers.  相似文献

A novel expandable five-input majority gate for quantum-dot cellular automata and a new full-adder cell are presented. Quantum-dot cellular automata (QCA) is an emerging technology and a possible alternative for semiconductor transistor based technologies. A novel QCA majority-logic gate is proposed. This component is suitable for designing QCA circuits. The gate is simple in structure and powerful in terms of implementing digital functions. By applying these kinds of gates, the hardware requirement for a QCA design can be reduced and circuits can be simpler in level, gate counts and clock phases. In order to verify the functionality of the proposed device, some physical proofs are provided. The proper functionality of the FA is checked by means of computer simulations using QCADesigner tool. Both simulation results and physical relations confirm our claims and its usefulness in designing every digital circuit.  相似文献
