The aim of this work was to compare the fractal characteristics, Df and kf, the primary particle diameter, Dpp, the gyration diameter of aggregates, Dg, and the overlap coefficient, Cov, of carbon nanoparticle aggregates produced by an ethylene diffusion flame and sampled by means of four commonly used techniques. The first method involves a thermophoretic piston probe (TPP) which inserts a TEM grid into the flame. Three other methods were applied at the outlet of a dilution device, also inserted in the flame. The first of these used a nuclepore filtration sampler (NFS), and is based on filtration of particles onto a polycarbonate membrane. The second, post dilution method, the insertion particle sampler (IPS), inserts a TEM grid, perpendicular to the aerosol flow. Similar to TPP, the last method is a thermophoretic particle sampler (TPS) sampling directly onto a TEM grid. After collection, the samples are stored in the dark either, (1) in a nitrogen filled cell at low humidity or, (2) in ambient air for studying atmospheric ageing. Good agreement was observed between TPP, TPS, and IPS indicating that the dilution induced for TPS and IPS does not significantly change the morphology of soot. On the other hand, the NFS protocol tended to overestimate the overlap coefficient and the size of primary particles and aggregates. Finally, with regard to the aging effect, we found that kf and Dpp evolve slowly during storage in the atmosphere while Df, was insensitive to the storage conditions. However, the overlap coefficient increased and the gyration diameter decreased as a function of storage duration, while storage under nitrogen tended to reduce these changes.  相似文献

Abstract

The internal model proposed is a nonlinear system of a few partial differential equations. The boundary conditions for the differential equations are specified at the lumber board entrance and between the wood and air. The initial conditions are calibrated by solving the static model and by the technical experiment. Effects of the fatty acid positional distribution and of the triacylglycerol (TG) composition on polymerization of TG during heat treatment were studied. Diacid TG molecules, acylated only with linoleic acid or linolenic acid along with palmitic acid, and positioned either in the central position (PLP and PLnP, respectively) or in one of the two outer positions (PPL and PPLn, respectively) were synthesized. Monoacid TG, i.e., trilinolein and trilinolenin, were also synthesized and mixed with tripalmitin in a 1:2 ratio. These model TG were also compared to TG models that consisted of a canola oil and its randomized counterpart, whose fatty acid positional distribution and TG composition were determined by means of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). After heating, the polymer content and composition were evaluated by HPLC-size exclusion chromatography. Both pure TG and the canola oil models showed that acylation of polyunsaturated acids in the central position was protective against polymerization, although the effect was mainly observed with linolenic acid. The synthetic-TG study showed that the monoacid TG species exhibited higher sensitivity toward polymerization than the diacid species. The slight differences in the TG species between both canola oils did not allow observation of such a relationship with regard to TG composition.  相似文献

Nanoscaled materials are attractive building blocks for hierarchical assembly of functional nanodevices, which exhibit diverse performances and simultaneous functions. We innovatively fabricated semiconductor nano-probes of tapered ZnS nanowires through melting and solidifying by electro-thermal process; and then, as-prepared nano-probes can manipulate nanomaterials including semiconductor/metal nanowires and nanoparticles through sufficiently electrostatic force to the desired location without structurally and functionally damage. With some advantages of high precision and large domain, we can move and position and interconnect individual nanowires for contracting nanodevices. Interestingly, by the manipulating technique, the nanodevice made of three vertically interconnecting nanowires, i.e., diode, was realized and showed an excellent electrical property. This technique may be useful to fabricate electronic devices based on the nanowires' moving, positioning, and interconnecting and may overcome fundamental limitations of conventional mechanical fabrication.  相似文献

The chemical structure of amino adhesives produced by the strongly acid process was investigated by 13C Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy. This technique allowed the identification of functional groups and its quantitative determination. Concentration of cyclic polymeric structures (urons) was shown to be related with adhesive performance and with particleboard physico‐mechanical properties and formaldehyde content. Higher urons concentration presented lower viscosity and reactivity. Particleboards produced with resins with lower urons concentration presented lower formaldehyde content, but also lower internal bond strength. Wood‐based panels produced fulfilled E1 class requirements for formaldehyde emissions, indicating that strongly acid process is an alternative to the conventional alkaline–acid process. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
