A new method to control the free spectral range (FSR) of a long-period fiber grating (LPFG) is proposed and theoretically analyzed. As the refractive index decreases radially outward in the silica cladding by graded doping of fluorine, waveguide dispersion in the cladding modes was modified to result in the effective indexes change and subsequently the phase-matching conditions for coupling with the core mode in a LPFG. Enlargement of the FSR in a LPFG was theoretically confirmed.  相似文献

This paper investigates the catalytic ignition of the H2/O2/CO2 mixture on platinum in a stagnation flow at atmospheric pressure experimentally and numerically. We measure the ignition temperatures of the gas mixtures flowing towards resistively heated platinum with various composition ratios and various diluent gases of N2, Ar and CO2. Compared with N2 or Ar, the CO2 dilution shows higher ignition temperature by about 50 K, even at the same composition ratio. The ignition temperature increase is proportional to the dilution ratio. Through the numerical simulation, it is illustrated that higher ignition temperature is caused by the adsorption of CO2 and following dissociation on platinum surface, which was to date considered negligible in catalytic combustion.  相似文献

In this study, a theoretical method for predicting the longitudinal dispersion coefficient is developed based on the transverse velocity distribution in natural streams. Equations of the transverse velocity profile for irregular cross sections of the natural streams are analyzed. Among the velocity profile equations tested in this study, the beta distribution equation, which is a probability density function, is considered to be the most appropriate model for explaining the complex behavior of the transverse velocity structure of irregular natural streams. The new equation for the longitudinal dispersion coefficient that is based on the beta function for the transverse velocity profile is developed. A comparison of the proposed equation with existing equations and the observed longitudinal dispersion coefficient reveals that the proposed equation shows better agreement with the observed data compared to other existing equations.  相似文献

Phase-space data processing is receiving increased attention because or its potential for furnishing new discriminants relating to classification and identification of targets and other scattering environments. Primary emphasis has been on time-frequency processing because of its impact on transient, especially wideband, short-pulse excitations. Here, we investigate the windowed Fourier transform, the wavelet transform, and model based superresolution algorithms within the context of a fully quantified and calibrated test problem investigated by us previously: two-dimensional (2-D) short-pulse plane wave scattering by a finite periodic array of perfectly conducting coplanar flat strips. Because the forward problem has been fully calibrated and parametrized, some quantitative measures can be assigned with respect to the tradeoffs of these time-frequency algorithms, yielding tentative performance assessments of the tested processing algorithms  相似文献

Dynamic cardiomyoplasty (DCM) involves the electrical stimulation of a pedicled latissimus dorsi muscle flap wrapped around the falling ventricle as a means of cardiac assist. To further elucidate a potential neurohumoral mechanism for improvement of cardiac output after myoplasty, we evaluated the hemodynamic effects of in situ stimulation of the latissimus dorsi muscle (in the absence of cardiomyoplasty). In seven mongrel dogs, a nerve cuff electrode (Medtronic 6901) was placed around the left thoracodorsal nerve (TDN). This was attached to a pulse generator (Medtronic, Itrel 7420), delivering a 4.0 volt, 0.19 second on, 0.81 second off, 33 Hz, 210 microsecond pulse width, cyclic bursts similar to that used in DCM. Stroke volume index (SVI) and other hemodynamic parameters as well as plasma norepinephrine (NE) levels were measured at five stages: baseline, stimulator on at 0, 2, and 5 minutes, and stimulator off at 30 minutes after. The animals were then subjected to 4 weeks of rapid pacing at 240 beats/min (Medtronic 8329) to induce heart failure, and as the rapid pacing was discontinued, measurements were repeated as above. After rapid pacing, cardiac function was significantly depressed, and NE was elevated (133 +/- 69 versus 500 +/- 353 pg/mL, p < 0.05). In the normal hearts, TDN stimulation increased SVI, heart rate, systemic pressure, and NE levels. In heart failure, however, no significant changes in cardiac function and NE levels were noted. In conclusion, our data indicate that in the normal hearts, afferent impulses from TDN stimulation alone may augment cardiac function by means of a neurohumoral effect that is not seen in severe heart failure. The implications of these findings in DCM are discussed.  相似文献

A new transparent microscale circulation-type high pressure equilibrium cell with on-line sampling was devised. With this apparatus, experimental solubility of molecularly complex species such as steroids (cholesterol, stigmasterol and ergosterol) and fatty acids (palmitic acid and stearic acid) in supercritical carbon dioxide(sc-C02) were measured. Also, to find an appropriate substance for enhancing both the polarity and the solubility power of the SC-CO2 solvent, we arbitrarily selected three polar substances such as acetone, methanol and water and the effect of these cosolvents on the solubility of solutes in SC-CO2 are examined. The supercritical phase equilibrium data of solute-cosolvent-sc-CO2 systems were quantitatively correlated using a new equation of state based on the lattice fluid theory incorporated with the concept of multibody interaction. We found that the addition of tracer amount of acetone or methanol to SC-CO2 enhances the solubility of all solutes about thirty to sixty times when compared with the case of pure sc-CO2 However, for the case of cosolvent water, no further enhancement of the solubility of solutes was realized. Also, the versatile fittability of the equation of state proposed in this work was demonstrated with the newly measured ternary supercritical equilibrium data.  相似文献

The fluctuation of available link bandwidth in mobilecellular networks motivates the study of adaptive multimediaservices, where the bandwidth of an ongoing multimedia call can bedynamically adjusted. We analyze the diverse objectives of theadaptive multimedia framework and propose two bandwidth adaptationalgorithms (BAAs) that can satisfy these objectives. The firstalgorithm, BAA-RA, takes into consideration revenue and``anti-adaptation' where anti-adaptation means that a user feelsuncomfortable whenever the bandwidth of the user's call ischanged. This algorithm achieves near-optimal total revenue withmuch less complexity compared to an optimal BAA. The secondalgorithm, BAA-RF, considers revenue and fairness, and aims at themaximum revenue generation while satisfying the fairnessconstraint defined herein. Comprehensive simulation experimentsshow that the difference of the total revenue of BAA-RA and thatof an optimal BAA is negligible. Also, numerical results revealthat there is a conflicting relationship between anti-adaptationand fairness.  相似文献

Wireless Internet access has gained significant attention as wireless/mobile communications and networking become widespread. The voice over IP service is likely to play a key role in the convergence of IP-based Internet and mobile cellular networks. We explore different mobility management schemes from the perspective of VoIP services, with a focus on Mobile IP and session initiation protocol. After illustrating the signaling message flows in these two protocols for diverse cases of mobility management, we propose a shadow registration concept to reduce the interdomain handoff (macro-mobility) delay in the VoIP service in mobile environments. We also analytically compute and compare the delay and disruption time for exchanging signaling messages associated with the Mobile IP and SIP-based solutions.  相似文献

The photoelectrochemical behaviors of RuL2(NCS)2 dye-sensitized SnO2/TiO2 coupled solar cell was studied and compared with TiO2 single system. The coupled system shows higher incident photon-to-current conversion efficiency (IPCE) value than the single system. A maximum IPCE value in the coupled system with 3.5 μm-thick SnO2 and 7 μm-thick TiO2 attained 82.4% at 530 nm wavelength. The higher IPCE value in the coupled system is attributed to the charge separation by fast electron transfer process from the excited RuL2(NCS)2 dye to TiO2 to SnO2 in the system with different energy level.  相似文献
