In this study, the main goal is to obtain montmorillonite nanocomposites of polypropylene (PP). To achieve this goal, a two‐phase study was performed. In the first part of the work, organomodified clay (OMMT) was synthesized and characterized. Octadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (ODTABr) cationic surfactant was added to the clay (Na‐activated montmorillonite, MMT) dispersions in different concentrations in the range of 5 × 10?5–1 × 10?2 mol/L. Rheologic, electrokinetic, and spectral analyses indicated that ODTABr has interacted with MMT at optimum conditions when the concentration was 1 × 10?2 mol/L. In the second part, modified (OMMT) and unmodified (MMT) montmorillonite were used to obtain PP nanocomposites (OMMT/PP and MMT/PP, respectively). The nanocomposites were prepared by melt intercalation where the montmorillonite contents were 1 or 5% (w/w) for each case. The thermal analyses showed that the thermal properties of OMMT/PP nanocomposites were better than MMT/PP, and both of them were also better than pure polymer. Increase in the concentration of MMT (or OMMT) decreased the thermal resistance. Based on the IR absorption intensity changes of regularity and conformational bands, it is found that the content of the helical structure of macromolecular chains has increased with increasing concentrations of both MMT and OMMT in the nanocomposites. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Phenolic-resin fibre was co-graftpolymerized with methyl methacrylate and methacrylic acid. The weight of the fibre increased by 26% after grafting. The grafted fibre was soaked in silvernitrate solution to introduce silver ion on methacrylic acid in the graft by an ion-exchange reaction, followed by carbonization at 900 °C for 30 min under a nitrogen stream and activation at 900 °C under a steam stream. After activation for 40 min, the resulting fibre showed a silver content of 8.3 wt% a specific surface area of 1300 m2g–1 and antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The average crystallite size of the silver in this fibre was 30 nm, which suggests co-graftpolymerization is a useful technique to disperse fine silver particles in the activated carbon fibre. After soaking in flowing tap water for 10 and 20 days, this activated carbon fibre lost about 50 wt% of silver but kept its antibacterial activity. 相似文献

The focus of this study is the identical parts robotic cell scheduling problem with m machines under the assumption of process and operational flexibility. A direct consequence of this assumption is a new robot move cycle that has been overlooked in the existing literature. We prove that this new cycle dominates all classical robot move cycles considered in the literature for m?=?2. We also prove that changing the layout from an in-line robotic cell to a robot-centered cell reduces the cycle time of the proposed cycle even further, whereas the cycle times of all other cycles remain the same. For the m-machine case, we find the regions where the proposed cycle dominates the classical robot move cycles, and for the remaining regions present its worst case performance with respect to classical robot move cycles. Considering the number of machines as a decision variable, we also find the optimal number of machines that minimizes the cycle time of the proposed cycle. 相似文献

The effects of dietary fat saturation on eicosanoid urinary excretion, platelet aggregation (PA) and blood pressure (BP) were studied in 42 healthy subjects. They consumed four consecutive diets differing in their fat saturation [saturated (SFA); monounsaturated (MUFA); polyunsaturated n-6 (PUFA n-6); and polyunsaturated n-6/n-3, (PUFA n-3)]. Each diet period lasted 5 weeks. There were no differences in 24-h 2,3-dinor-6- keto-prostaglandin F1 alpha excretion among dietary periods. A significant effect was noted regarding the excretion of 11-dehydro-thromboxane B2 (P < 0.0001). During the PUFA n-6 phase the excretion was significantly higher than during SFA and MUFA periods. Dietary fatty acid composition had a significant effect on ADP (1 mumolL-1) and collagen (2 mgL-1) induced PA. Dietary fat also had a significant effect on systolic and diastolic blood pressure (P < 0.0001). Both were significantly higher during the SFA period than during the other three periods. Our findings suggest that changes in dietary fatty acids may have mild, but significant, effects on eicosanoid production, platelet aggregation and blood pressure. 相似文献

Long-lived proteins can undergo non-enzymatic glycation to form highly crosslinked structures with characteristic fluorescence during aging and diabetes processes. In this paper, a typical fluorophore, named Maillard reaction product X (MRX), was isolated from the hydrolysate of glycated proteins. MRX could be formed by incubation of bovine serum albumin with glucose, followed by acid hydrolysis. The structure of MRX was determined to be 8-hydroxy-5-methyldihydrothiazolo[3,2-alpha] pyridinium-3-carboxylate. MRX was also found to be formed by the incubation of cysteine and arginine with glucose, followed by hydrolysis. We found the formation of MRX in the recently developed genetically diabetic Otsuka Long-Evans Tokushima Fatty (OLETF) rats and compared them with that in the control Long-Evans Tokushima Otsuka (LETO) rats. Significantly higher levels of MRX were observed from the serum (p < 0.005) and urinary protein (p < 0.001) of OLETF rats in comparison with those of LETO rats. MRX must be a potential candidate as a biomarker for hyperglycemia. 相似文献

The behavior of hydrogen retention and the change of chemical states of boron film exposed to hydrogen plasma in LHD were investigated. The sample was prepared in LHD, and atomic concentrations for the boron film after hydrogen plasma exposure were changed from 75% for boron, 15% for carbon and 8% for oxygen to 53%, 18% and 22%, respectively. BC bond was a major chemical state of the boron film after hydrogen plasma exposure, although abundance of BB bond was the highest before the plasma exposure. Total hydrogen retention measured by TDS was evaluated to be 1.7 × 1020 H m?2, and the retentions of hydrogen as BHB, BH and BCH bonds were, respectively, 4.8 × 1019, 7.2 × 1019 and 5.2 × 1019 H m?2. It was concluded that the hydrogen retention could be estimated by taking account not only of chemical states of impurities, but also of hydrogen depth profile. 相似文献

Compression tests have been carried out on the polycrystalline Ni3Al and Ni3Ga alloys over the temperature range 77 ~ 1000 K. The flow stress and the temperature dependence of strength are found to
be sensitive to small composition change within the phase field. The anomalous strengthening of these compounds with temperature
is more significant for Al-and Ga-rich deviations than for Ni-rich deviations from stoichiometry. The change in activation
constant of these compounds derived from the flow stress increment appears to be discontinuous at the stoichiometric composition.
The influence of deviations from stoichiometry on the temperature dependence of strength could be accounted for by the phase
stability concept proposed by the present authors. It is concluded that the phase stability of the Ni3Al and Ni3Ga alloys with respect to the D022 phase as well as the D019 phase are reduced as the composition of the minority component is increased. This change leads to the relatively reduced
{100} antiphase boundary energy which increases the propensity for the cross slip onto cube plane.

Probability density functional method was used to determine whether interaction between mechanical force and chemical action in cleaning was an additive effect, a synergistic effect, or an offsetting effect. As a soiled sample, iron (III) oxide soiled fabric, Sudan IV soiled fabric, commercially available artificial soiled fabric containing mixed stains, etc. were used and washed with a tergotometer. Mean value μrl and standard deviation σrl of the cleaning force distribution were calculated by using probability density functional method, and the interaction was judged using Δμrl which is the difference between μrl obtained under the two conditions. As results, additive effects between the mechanical force and the pH effect were confirmed in the cleaning of iron (III) oxide soiled fabric and commercially available artificially soiled fabric, and an additive effect between the mechanical force and the effect of the surfactant concentration was confirmed in the cleaning of Sudan IV soiled fabric. Therefore, it was presumed that an additive effect is often established between the mechanical action and the chemical action in cleaning, rather than a synergistic effect or an offsetting effect. 相似文献

In the present work we study the hydroxide activation (NaOH and KOH) of phenol-formaldehyde resin derived CNFs prepared by a polymer blend technique to prepare highly porous activated carbon nanofibres (ACNFs). Morphology and textural characteristics of these ACNFs were studied and their hydrogen storage capacities at 77 K (at 0.1 MPa and at high pressures up to 4 MPa) were assessed, and compared, with reported capacities of other porous carbon materials.Phenol-formaldehyde resin derived carbon fibres were successfully activated with these two alkaline hydroxides rendering highly microporous ACNFs with reasonable good activation process yields up to 47 wt.% compared to 7 wt.% yields from steam activation for similar surface areas of 1500 m2/g or higher. These nano-sized activated carbons present interesting H2 storage capacities at 77 K which are comparable, or even higher, to other high quality microporous carbon materials. This observation is due, in part, to their nano-sized diameters allowing to enhance their packing densities to 0.71 g/cm3 and hence their resulting hydrogen storage capacities. 相似文献
