In the fluidised bed granulation process the effect of nozzle air pressure and binder spray rate on key aggregate quality attributes were studied. The experimental results show that a decrease in nozzle air pressure leads to larger mean granule size. The combination of lowest nozzle air pressure and lowest binder spray rate results in granules with the highest levels of hardness and crispness. The combination of low nozzle air pressure and low binder spray rate results in the least distribution span. Granola hardness was affected by nozzle air pressure. Nozzle air pressure and binder spray rate did not have significant effect on crispness.  相似文献

Ethyl cellulose (EC) and Eudragit RL-100 (ERL-100) were used for the preparation of sustained released microparticles of mefenamic acid (MFN) by using oil-in-oil (o/o) solvent evaporation as well as spray drying. A Plackett-Burman design was employed using Design-Expert software. The resultant microparticles were characterized for their size, surface morphology, encapsulation efficiency, and drug release. Imaging of microparticles was performed by field emission scanning electron microscopy. The drug and polymer interaction was investigated by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and X-ray powder diffractometry (XRPD). The microparticles showed encapsulation efficiency in the range of 29.44 to 89.20% by solvent evaporation and 83.73 to 96.69% by spray drying. The surface of the microparticles was smooth, round, and regular, without any erosion and cracking. The size of the microparticles was found to be in the range of 6.55 to 41.1 µm. FTIR analysis confirmed no interaction of MFN with the polymers. XRPD showed the dispersion of the drug within the microparticle formulation. These results helped in finding the optimum formulation variables for encapsulation efficiency (EE) of microparticles.  相似文献

The oxide glass system of the composition (10 – x)SrO–xFe2O3–90V2O5, (x = 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 mol %) were prepared by a standard melt quenching technique. The amorphous nature of the prepared glass was confirmed using X-ray diffraction technique. The infrared spectra of these glasses were recorded over a continuous spectral range (850–1500 cm–1). The density of prepared sample was obtained by the Archimedes principle. The physical parameters of the glasses were also determined with respect to the composition. Density increases from 3.10 to 3.20 g/cm3, whereas the molar volume decreases with the increase in Fe2O3 concentration. In order to study optical properties, absorption spectra were measured at room temperature. Indirect optical energy band gap, optical dielectric constant, refractive index were calculated from optical energy band gap. The refractive index decreases gradually with the increase in Fe2O3 content due to increase of bridging oxygen’s. For temperatures from 300 to 500 K, the dc conductivity increased with the increasing Fe2O3 content. The dielectric properties like dielectric constant, dielectric loss factor and dielectric loss tangent investigated at the room temperature in the frequency range of 10 kHz to 1 MHz decreases with frequency. The dielectric behavior shows strong frequency as well as composition dependence.  相似文献

N‐Acylhomoserine lactones (AHLs) are used by a wide variety of bacteria for cell–cell communication in “quorum‐sensing”. These compounds are derived from L ‐homoserine lactone and a fatty acid, which varies in chain‐length, degree of saturation, and the presence or absence of an oxygen atom at C‐3. In this study we describe for the first time the occurrence of acyl chains carrying a methyl branch, and present a GC‐MS‐based method that can be used to distinguish these compounds from unbranched isomers. The bacterium Aeromonas culicicola produces several methyl branched AHLs. In Jannaschia helgolandensis—a marine bacterium of the Roseobacter clade—a doubly unsaturated AHL, (2E,9Z)‐N‐(2,9‐hexadecadienoyl)‐L ‐homoserine lactone, occurs. The location and configuration of the double bonds was proven by spectrometric investigation and synthesis. Finally, a method was developed to establish the absolute configuration of 3‐hydroxyalkanoyl‐HSLs by mild cleavage and chiral gas chromatography. The AHLs synthesized during this study were tested in sensor systems specific for certain AHL types. The results show that these compounds display varying responses to the respective sensors; this underlines the importance of determining the whole bouquet of AHLs and its function to fully understand their importance for regulatory functions in bacteria.  相似文献

The influence of different welding speeds and rotary speeds on the formation and mechanical properties of friction stir weld joints of armor grade aluminum alloy was presented. The developed weld joints were characterized by bend tests, micro-hardness tests, tensile tests, optical and scanning electron microscopies. Mechanical properties (i.e., micro-hardness, ultimate tensile strength and elongation to fracture) increased with the increase in rotary speed or decrease in welding speed. The effect of welding speed on micro-hardness of heat affected zones was more profound than the rotary speeds. The welding speeds and rotary speeds influenced the mechanical properties and their effects on various mechanical properties of the friction stir welded joints can be predicted with the help of regression models.  相似文献

Galvannealed steel sheets (GA) have become the mainstream steel sheet for automobile applications because of their superior corrosion resistance, paintability, and weldability. To impart specific properties, different coatings on GA steel sheet were reported to improve properties further. In this context, we have developed an electroplating process (flash coating) for bright and adherent Fe-Zn alloy coating on GA steel sheet to enhance performances such as weldability, frictional behavior, phosphatability, and defect coverage. A comparative study with bare GA steel sheet was carried out for better elastration. The electroplating time was reduced below 10 s for practical applicability in an industrial coating line by modulating the bath composition. Electroplating was performed at current density of 200-500 A/m2 which yielded with higher cathode current efficiency of 85-95%. The performance results show that Fe-10 wt.% Zn-coated GA steel sheet (coating time 7 s) has better spot weldability, lower dynamic coefficient of friction (0.06-0.07 in lubrication), and better corrosion resistance compared to bare GA steel sheet. Uniform phosphate coating with globular crystal size of 2-5 µm was obtained on Fe-Zn flash-coated GA steel sheet. Hopeite was the main phosphate compound (77.9 wt.%) identified along with spencerite (13.6 wt.%) and phosphophyllite (8.5 wt.%).  相似文献

Ultrafine La(Ca)CrO3 (LCC) powder was prepared through the glycine–nitrate gel combustion process. It was shown for the first time that the use of relatively inexpensive CrO3 as a starting material for chromium has potential for the bulk preparation of sinter-active LCC powder. As-prepared powder, when calcined at 700°C, resulted in LCC along with a small amount of CaCrO4. The calcined powder was found to be composed of soft agglomerates with a particle size of ≈70–290 nm. The cold pressing and sintering of the calcined powder at 1200°C resulted in the mono-phasic La0.7Ca0.3CrO3 with density ≈98% of its theoretical value. This is the lowest sintering temperature ever reported for La0.7Ca0.3CrO3. The conductivity of the sintered La0.7Ca0.3CrO3 at 1000°C was found to be ≈57 S/cm in air. The sintering and electrical behavior achieved for La0.7Ca0.3CrO3 may find application as an interconnect material for high-temperature solid oxide fuel cells if problems with chemical expansion and poor conductivity in fuel can be overcome.  相似文献

The general corrosion and environmental cracking resistances of Al–Cu–Li alloy AA2195 were investigated in 3.5% NaCl environment and compared with those of another high strength alloy AA2219. The general corrosion resistance of these alloys was examined using immersion corrosion and potentiodynamic polarization tests, while the stress corrosion cracking (SCC) resistance was evaluated by slow strain rate test (SSRT) method. The tested samples were further characterized by SEM–EDS and optical profilometry to study the change in corrosion morphology, elemental content and depth of corrosion attack. The reduction in ductility was used as a parameter to evaluate the SCC susceptibility of the alloys. The results indicated that the corrosion resistance of AA2195 alloy was better than that of AA2219 alloy as it exhibited lower corrosion rate, along with lower pit depth and density. However, the SCC index (?NaCl/?air) measured was greater than 0.90, indicating good environmental cracking resistance of both the alloys. Detailed fractography of the failed samples under SEM–EDS, in general, revealed a typical ductile cracking morphology for both the alloys.  相似文献

Background  

Serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] is the major circulating form of vitamin D and a standard indicator of vitamin D status. Emerging evidence in the literature suggests a high prevalence of suboptimal vitamin D (as defined by serum 25(OH)D levels of <32 ng/ml) as well as an association between lower serum levels and higher mortality in cancer. We investigated the effect of oral vitamin D supplementation as a means for restoring suboptimal levels to optimal levels in cancer.  相似文献
