Smoothness assumptions in traditional image expansion cause blurring of edges and other high-frequency content that can be perceptually disturbing. Previous edge-preserving approaches are either ad hoc, statistically untenable, or computationally unattractive. We propose a new edge-driven stochastic prior image model and obtain the maximum a posteriori (MAP) estimate under this model. The MAP estimate is computationally challenging since it involves the inversion of very large matrices. An efficient algorithm is presented for expansion by dyadic factors. The technique exploits diagonalization of convolutional operators under the Fourier transform, and the sparsity of our edge prior, to speed up processing. Visual and quantitative comparison of our technique with other popular methods demonstrates its potential and promise.  相似文献

The emerging MPEG-4 standard encompasses a wide variety of applications, many of which are suitable for implementation on a Digital Signal Processor (DSP). In particular, consumer products with embedded multimedia capability, such as set-top boxes and wireless communicators, are suitable for DSP-based implementation. With a programmable approach, various algorithmic tradeoffs can be made, based on processing capability. For best performance, careful attention must be paid to memory allocation, data transfer, and ordering of instructions to best match the DSP architecture. We discuss implementing simple profile MPEG-4 video on the low-power TMS320C54x, core profile on the TMS320C6x, and scalable texture profile, which could be implemented on either processor family.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a hybrid algorithm that combines the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) and finite-volume time-domain (FVTD) methods to analyze microwave integrated-circuit structures that may contain curved perfect electric conductor (PEC) surfaces. We employ the conventional nonuniform FDTD in regions where the objects are describable with a rectangular mesh, while applying the FVTD method elsewhere where we need to deal with curved PEC configurations. Both the FDTD and FVTD quantities are defined in the mutually overlapping regions, and these fields from the respective regions are interpolated by using their nearest neighbors. We validate this algorithm by analyzing the scattering parameters of a stripline with one or more adjacent cylindrical vias, whose geometries are frequently encountered in printed-circuit-board designs. It is found that the hybrid FDTD-FVTD approach requires little increase in central processing unit time and memory in comparison to the conventional FDTD, while its computational accuracy is significantly improved over a wide range of frequencies. 高性能巨型计算机的快速发展正在改变着人们在计算电磁学方面的一些传统观念,特别是IBM BlueGene/L巨型计算机的出现使计算电磁学所解决的问题尺寸和时间发生了巨大的变化.IBM BlueGene/L巨型计算机可以包括多达65,536处理器和 32 TB 内存,更重要的是由于它所使用的特殊体系结构使它在4000个处理器时时域有限差分程序的并行效率仍然在百分之九十左右.测试显示,在单个CPU速度接近的情况下,一台奔腾4计算机上运行五十二天的工作量在一个包含有4000个处理器的BlueGene/L巨型计算机上仅需10min左右.虽然普通的PC机群与单个处理器相比也能快速地求解相对大的问题,但是无论是使用千兆 Ethernet、Foundry、Myrinet或者Infiniband,普通PC机群的效率都会在处理其数量超过几十个的时候快速下降.为了验证并行时有预先差分程序的正确性,我们使用并行时域有限差分程序在巨型计算机IBM BlueGene/L上模拟一个144单元的对偶极化Vivaldi阵列的抛物面天线馈源.  相似文献

Nanotechnology has provided tools for next generation biomedical devices which rely on nanostructure interfaces with living cells. In vitro biomimetic structures have enabled observation of cell response to various mechanical and chemical cues, and there is a growing interest in isolating and harnessing the specific cues that 3D microenvironments can provide without the requirement for such culture and the experimental drawbacks associated with it. Here, a randomly oriented gold coated Si nanowire substrate with patterned hydrophobic–hydrophilic areas for the differentiation of isogenic breast cancer cells of varying metastatic potential is reported. When considering synthetic surfaces for the study of cell-nanotopography interfaces, randomly oriented nanowires more closely resemble the isotropic architecture of a natural extracellular matrix. In the study reported here, the authors show that primary cancer cells preferably attach to the hydrophilic region of randomly oriented nanowire substrate while secondary cancer cells do not adhere. Using machine learning analysis of fluorescence images, cells are found to spread and elongate on the nanowire substrates as compared to a flat substrate, where they mostly remain round. Such platforms can not only be used for developing bioassays but also as stepping stones for tissue printing technologies where cells can be selectively patterned at desired locations.  相似文献

The design and fabrication of an 8-ch, 500 GHz-spacing arrayed waveguide grating on (Pb,La)(Zr,Ti)O3 has been successfully achieved for the first time. An insertion loss of 22.1 dB, including a 10 dB coupling loss, and an adjacent crosstalk of -23.1 dB have been obtained. Two-dimensional (2D) quantum mechanical analytical modeling has been presented in order to evaluate the 2D potential profile within the active area of FinFET structure. Various potential profiles such as surface, back to front gate and source to drain potential have been presented in order to appreciate the usefulness of the device for circuit simulation purposes. As we move from source end of the gate to the drain end of the gate, there is substantial increase in the potential at any point in the channel. This is attributed to the increased value of longitudinal electric field at the drain end on application of a drain to source voltage. Further, in this paper, the detailed study of threshold voltage and its variation with the process parameters are presented. A threshold voltage roll-off with fin thickness is observed for both theoretical and experimental results. The fin thickness is varied from 10 nm to 60 nm. The percentage roll-off for our model is 77% and that for experimental result it is 75%. Form the analysis of source/drain (S/D) resistance, it is observed that for a fixed fin width, as the channel length increases, there is an enhancement in the parasitic S/D resistance. This can be inferred from the fact that as the channel length decreases, quantum confinement along the S/D direction becomes more extensive. For our proposed devices a close match is obtained with the results through the analytical model and reported experimental results, thereby validating our proposed QM analytical model for DG FinFET device.  相似文献
