Direct additive fabrication of thin‐film electronics using a high‐mobility, wide‐bandgap amorphous oxide semiconductor (AOS) can pave the way for integration of efficient power circuits with digital electronics. For power rectifiers, vertical thin‐film diodes (V‐TFDs) offer superior efficiency and higher frequency operation compared to lateral thin‐film transistors (TFTs). However, the AOS V‐TFDs reported so far require additional fabrication steps and generally suffer from low voltage handling capability. Here, these challenges are overcome by exploiting in situ reactions of molybdenum (Mo) during the solution‐process deposition of amorphous zinc tin oxide film. The oxidation of Mo forms the rectifying contact of the V‐TFD, while the simultaneous diffusion of Mo increases the diode's voltage range of operation. The resulting V‐TFDs are demonstrated in a full‐wave rectifier for wireless energy harvesting from a commercial radio‐frequency identification reader. Finally, by using the same Mo film for V‐TFD rectifying contacts and TFT gate electrodes, this process allows simultaneous fabrication of both devices without any additional steps. The integration of TFTs alongside V‐TFDs opens a new fabrication route for future low‐cost and large‐area thin‐film circuitry with embedded power management.  相似文献

Due to the enormous spreading of applied wireless networks, security is actually one of the most important issues for telecommunications. One of the main issue in the field of securing wireless information exchanging is the initial common knowledge between source and destination. A shared secret is normally mandatory in order to decide the encryption (algorithm or code or key) of the information stream. It is usual to exchange this common a priori knowledge by using a “secure” channel. Nowadays a secure wireless channel is not possible. In fact normally the common a priori knowledge is already established (but this is not secure) or by using a non-radio channel (that implies a waste of time and resource). The information is encrypted by means of a private key that must be known by both the transmitter and the receiver. One of the main weak point about security is the private key exchanging interval. The key cannot be public and cannot be known a priori. The problem is how to exchange this private key through a totally secure wireless channel. This contribution deals with the review of the main physical layer techniques for encrypting the information and the proposal of a new physical layer technique ensuring secure communication in a full wireless environment. The information is modulated, at physical layer, by the thermal noise experienced by the link between two terminals. A loop scheme is designed for unique recovering of mutual information. The probability of error/detection is analytically derived for the legal users and for the third unwanted listener (passive or active attacker). Both the case of passive and active attacks have also been implemented and simulated by using Matlab-Simulink software. The analytical results have been compared to the simulated ones. All the results show that the performance of the proposed scheme yields the advantage of intrinsic security, i.e., the mutual information cannot be physically demodulated (passive attack) or denied (active attack) by a third terminal.  相似文献

Modeling alternatives for a fast packet switching system are analyzed. A nonblocking switch fabric that runs at the same speed as the input/output links is considered. The performance of the considered approaches are derived by theoretical analysis and computer simulations. Performance comparison between input queueing approaches with different selection policies are presented. Novel input and output queueing techniques are also proposed. In particular it is shown that, depending on the implementation, the input queueing approach studied in this paper achieves the same performance as the optimum (output) queueing alternative, without resorting to a faster packet switch fabric  相似文献

An exergy-based thermoeconomic optimization application is applied to a subcooled and superheated vapor compression refrigeration system. The advantage of using the exergy method of thermoeconomic optimization is that various elements of the system—i.e., condenser, evaporator, subcooling and superheating heat exchangers—can be optimized on their own. The application consists of determining the optimum heat exchanger areas with the corresponding optimum subcooling and superheating temperatures. A cost function is specified for the optimum conditions. All calculations are made for three refrigerants: R22, R134a, and R407c. Thermodynamic properties of refrigerants are formulated using the Artificial Neural Network methodology.  相似文献

A model describes the joint distribution of paired survival times based on certain reasonable assumptions appropriate for biological data generated in a clinical trial setting or for certain failure data. An exact parametric test for equality of mean survival times for data following this distribution is developed. The power of the exact test is investigated by a computer simulation study for various sample sizes and values of the model parameters and compared to that of alternative tests. Heretofore, researchers desiring to analyze paired survival data have resorted to paired t tests or nonparametric procedures such as the sign test or signed ranks test. The t-test is invalid for non-normally distributed data although the robustness of the test might minimize the difficulty. The nonparametric tests, by their nature, fail to use the data completely. This paper presents an exact parametric test based on a distribution whose justification requires rather modest and reasonable assumptions. Critical values for the test can be obtained from a table of the chi-square distribution. This exact test appears to be a viable alternative to non-parametric approaches to the analysis of paired survival data. It is extremely easy to calculate on a hand calculator. In fact, since no data storage is required (unlike the signed ranks test), the calculations can be readily programmed on a programmable calculator. The modeling of bivariate and multivariate survival data we believe has not been adequately addressed in the statistical and engineering literature. Synthetic materials have played a significant role in ophthalmic applications to improve vision for many years. This has been in four main areas in ophthalmology: ocular surface reconstruction, lens replacement, vitreous replacement and structural support and cell transplantation in the retina. Corneal replacement therapies have been developed using both synthetic acrylic-based materials and more recently naturally derived materials such as amniotic membrane. Intraocular lenses as a replacement for the natural lens post cataract surgery has been used for many years. Newer developments include the opportunity to use gels so that the lenses can accommodate but these need improving in terms of the cross-linking chemistry. Silicone oils have been used as long-term tamponade agents as vitreous replacements but recent developments in their properties has enhanced the clinical outcomes and further research into their use as drug delivery vehicles will be a major advancement. Regenerative medicine therapies to repopulate the retina to repair and replace specific cell layers require the optimisation of synthetic scaffolds and this is a major area for development. Recent developments in biomaterials have emphasised the importance of the physical, chemical and mechanical properties specific to a particular ophthalmic application. Materials science has a critical role in developing strategies to overcome vision loss.  相似文献

The Weibull distribution can be used to effectively model many different failure mechanisms due to its inherent flexibility through the appropriate selection of a shape and a scale parameter. In this paper, we evaluate and compare the performance of three cumulative sum (CUSUM) control charts to monitor Weibull‐distributed time‐between‐event observations. The first two methods are the Weibull CUSUM chart and the exponential CUSUM (ECUSUM) chart. The latter is considered in literature to be robust to the assumption of the exponential distribution when observations have a Weibull distribution. For the third CUSUM chart included in this study, an adjustment in the design of the ECUSUM chart is used to account for the true underlying time‐between‐event distribution. This adjustment allows for the adjusted ECUSUM chart to be directly comparable to the Weibull CUSUM chart. By comparing the zero‐state average run length and average time to signal performance of the three charts, the ECUSUM chart is shown to be much less robust to departures from the exponential distribution than was previously claimed in the literature. We demonstrate the advantages of using one of the other two charts, which show surprisingly similar performance. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Polyethylene (PE) was modified and prepared as double-layer polyethylene/polycaprolactone (PE/PCL) film. Magnetite and casein were added to the PCL-coating film to improve barrier properties and prevent destruction of basic structure of primary polymer PE. Significant improvements were observed with regards to mechanical (tensile strength, elongation at break) and thermal properties, while barrier (O2 permeability) properties were slightly improved. Overall migration values into acetic acid were lower (from 1 to 4.6 mg/dm2) than the upper limit set by the legislation. Specific migration of iron in PE/PCL-Fe samples is also below (µg/L) specific migration limit value set by the legislation (mg/kg).  相似文献
