The use of performance indices to measure the quality response of dynamical systems is studied in this paper. A definition of a general performance index is proposed which is easy to compute, easy to interpret, and flexible enough to account for different cases commonly presented in practice. The index is tested over several dynamical responses obtained from different systems obtaining good results, in the sense that it is able to rank the behaviors from best to worse, compared with a pattern response. 相似文献

The release of naproxen through synthetic membranes, mounted in modified Franz-type diffusion cells, was evaluated, either from saturated solutions or from commercially available topical formulations containing 10% naproxen. The results obtained showed that the porous type synthetic membranes chosen (cellulose acetate and polyethersulphone) can be used for assessing product performance in quality control procedures. The formulations interacted with the solid membranes (silicone and EVA) to change their diffusional characteristics. However, transfer in the membrane, and not the formulation was rate controlling. These membranes could not therefore be used in assessing product release performance for quality control. 相似文献

To investigate the inclusion removal in billets cast under electromagnetic stirring (EMS) influence, a numerical model has been developed to compute the magnetic field, the Lorentz force, the steel flow velocities, and the particle transport within the liquid pool. The electromagnetic field was described by the Maxwell equations and the finite element method was applied using a commercial package. The turbulent fluid flow was described by the Navier‐Stokes equation and by the Reynolds Stress model and the finite volume method was applied using another numerical package. The time average of the Lorentz force was calculated in each element center and this value was applied as a body force in the Navier‐Stokes equation. The magnetic flux density profile was compared with the data obtained in the stirrer of the steel plant. The particle transport model includes the drag force, the buoyancy force and the random walk model, to include the turbulence effects on the particle trajectory. The inclusion removal was calculated and analysed in function of casting speed and stirring current for one size section of mold. The inclusions considered in the calculations have a fixed density and four values of diameter. The numerical results of the electromagnetic model are in agreement with the experimental measurements. A good relationship between the electromagnetic model and the fluid flow model could be shown. An interesting effect is the break of the rotation motion due to the EMS by the jet from the nozzle. The fraction of inclusions removed by the top surface of the mold was improved due to the EMS. 相似文献

Transmission expansion planning has become a central challenge in the design of competitive electricity markets. The underlying optimization/decision problem exhibits a high level of complexity, being nonconvex, dynamic, and nonlinear, with multiple objective functions and a wide range of uncertainties. In this paper we propose a methodology for handling the expansion problem that involves a novel adaptation of an iterative optimization method based on response surface models already used successfully in the design and manufacture of integrated circuits. It is implemented in a distributed environment using Web services, and is validated and compared with a genetic algorithm based methodology. An application of the proposed methodology to the Chilean Central Interconnected System is then presented and analyzed. The results demonstrate its potential in the fields of risk analysis and decision support systems in power markets. 相似文献

A sufficient condition for the stability of large-scale interconnections of N linear time-variant systems is presented. Such a condition represents important extensions to passivity criteria and ensures stability by means of the existence of a positive definite (full-block) matrix P which is a common solution to Lyapunov equations involving a diagonal stacking of the N systems and the interconnection structure matrix. An experimental methodology for the verification of the sufficient condition also is proposed, based on evolutionary computation techniques. A new methodology to provide conclusive information about the existence/non-existence of a common quadratic Lyapunov function (CQLF) for a finite set of stable second-order systems is presented. Despite the high complexity of the CQLF problem, even in the case of N second-order systems, the results presented in this paper have a very simple and intuitive theoretical support, including topics such as classical intersection of convex sets and properties of convex linear combinations. If a wireless sensor network (WSN) is to be completely integrated into the Internet as part of the Internet of Things (IoT), it is necessary to consider various security challenges, such as the creation of a secure channel between an Internet host and a sensor node. In order to create such a channel, it is necessary to provide key management mechanisms that allow two remote devices to negotiate certain security credentials (e.g. secret keys) that will be used to protect the information flow. In this paper we will analyse not only the applicability of existing mechanisms such as public key cryptography and pre-shared keys for sensor nodes in the IoT context, but also the applicability of those link-layer oriented key management systems (KMS) whose original purpose is to provide shared keys for sensor nodes belonging to the same WSN. 相似文献
