Relaxation occurs spontaneously in all glasses and is a fundamental step of important technological processes, such as annealing, crystal nucleation, and chemical strengthening by ion exchange. Despite extensive studies over the past decades, there are still conflicting results on whether the kinetics of structural relaxation depends on the analyzed property. Thus, in this study, we used a lithium disilicate glass as a model composition to determine the structural relaxation kinetics during physical aging experiments by measuring the time evolution of the refractive index and ionic conductivity down to 35 K below the initial fictive temperature. In all cases, variations in these properties were adequate to capture the structural changes throughout the aging experiments. At each temperature, the experimental relaxation data fit quite well with the classical stretched exponential relation. We also found that the relaxation process starts faster when probed by ionic conductivity than by refractive index; however, they show similar average relaxation times. These very small structural rearrangements are always the same, but ionic conductivity changes faster than refractive index at the beginning of the process. Our comprehensive results strongly indicate that relaxation dynamics is indeed dependent on the analyzed property.  相似文献

Polymer blends can improve material processability and can be used to extrude partially degraded materials, such as expired poly (butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT), which cannot be normally extruded. Therefore, in this study, the extrudability of PBAT that has passed its expiration date was restored by blending it with poly (butylene succinate) (PBS). Various polymer blends were extruded and characterized to achieve high-efficiency extrusion. The carbonyl indices in partially degraded PBAT and the corresponding control sample detailed the effects of 98 months of aging on molecular properties. The semicrystalline structure consisted of a mixed ordered arrangement of PBS and PBAT chains dispersed in an amorphous matrix. The microscopic images of the surfaces of the polymer films revealed defects and roughness, followed by an increase in the PBAT concentration in blends. Changes in mechanical properties and water vapor permeability correlated with the PBAT concentration in the blends. To avoid polymer loss, we reported a simple method for using PBAT that has passed its expiration date and cannot be extruded. The results revealed that the polymer films could be used in the packaging industry, especially in food and agricultural sectors.  相似文献

Formulations of poly(lactic acid) (PLA) reinforced by curaua leaf fibers were prepared and characterized. This biocomposite has material characteristics such as biodegradability and renewability. This work aimed to develop a PLA/curaua leaf fiber composite as a sustainable biodegradable polymer composite. The PLA and composites were thermally, mechanically, and morphologically evaluated. The critical fiber length was studied to check its influence on the mechanical properties. Predictions of the Young's modulus were done to compare with the experimental data, having a reasonable agreement. The Young's modulus increased above 70%, and the impact strength increased 20% compared with the pure PLA. Thermal analysis showed that formulations with up to 20% by weight of fibers were more thermally stable. The fiber modified the crystallinity of the PLA matrix. Considering that recent european high-speed railway system has a traction power system of $2\times 25$  kV 50 Hz, which causes electromagnetic emission for the outside world, it is important to dimension the railway system emissions, using a frequency/distance dependent propagation model. This paper presents an enhanced theoretical model for VLF to UHF propagation, railway system oriented. It introduces the near field approach (crucial in low frequency propagation) and also considers the source characteristics and type of measuring antenna. Simulations are presented, and comparisons are set with earlier far field models. Using the developed model, a real case study was performed in partnership with Refer Telecom (portuguese telecom operator for railways). The new propagation model was used in order to predict the future high-speed railway electromagnetic emissions in the Lisbon north track. The results show the model’s prediction capabilities and also its applicability to realistic scenarios.  相似文献

(1) The neurotrophic protein S100B is a marker of brain injury and has been associated with neuroregeneration. In S100Btg mice rendering 12 copies of the murine S100B gene we evaluated whether S100B may serve as a treatment option. (2) In juvenile, adult, and one-year-old S100Btg mice (female and male; n = 8 per group), progenitor cell proliferation was quantified in the subgranular zone (SGZ) and the granular cell layer (GCL) of the dentate gyrus with the proliferative marker Ki67 and BrdU (50 mg/kg). Concomitant signaling was quantified utilizing glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), apolipoprotein E (ApoE), brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), and the receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE) immunohistochemistry. (3) Progenitor cell proliferation in the SGZ and migration to the GCL was enhanced. Hippocampal GFAP was reduced in one-year-old S100Btg mice. ApoE in the hippocampus and frontal cortex of male and BDNF in the frontal cortex of female S100Btg mice was reduced. RAGE was not affected. (4) Enhanced hippocampal neurogenesis in S100Btg mice was not accompanied by reactive astrogliosis. Sex- and brain region-specific variations of ApoE and BDNF require further elucidations. Our data reinforce the importance of this S100Btg model in evaluating the role of S100B in neuroregenerative medicine.  相似文献

The study of the molecular mechanisms of stress appraisal on farmed fish is paramount to ensuring a sustainable aquaculture. Stress exposure can either culminate in the organism’s adaptation or aggravate into a metabolic shutdown, characterized by irreversible cellular damage and deleterious effects on fish performance, welfare, and survival. Multiomics can improve our understanding of the complex stressed phenotype in fish and the molecular mediators that regulate the underlying processes of the molecular stress response. We profiled the stress proteome and metabolome of Sparus aurata responding to different challenges common to aquaculture production, characterizing the disturbed pathways in the fish liver, i.e., the central organ in mounting the stress response. Label-free shotgun proteomics and untargeted metabolomics analyses identified 1738 proteins and 120 metabolites, separately. Mass spectrometry data have been made fully accessible via ProteomeXchange, with the identifier PXD036392, and via MetaboLights, with the identifier MTBLS5940. Integrative multivariate statistical analysis, performed with data integration analysis for biomarker discovery using latent components (DIABLO), depicted the 10 most-relevant features. Functional analysis of these selected features revealed an intricate network of regulatory components, modulating different signaling pathways related to cellular stress, e.g., the mTORC1 pathway, the unfolded protein response, endocytosis, and autophagy to different extents according to the stress nature. These results shed light on the dynamics and extent of this species’ metabolic reprogramming under chronic stress, supporting future studies on stress markers’ discovery and fish welfare research.  相似文献

Polysubstituted carbazoles were efficiently synthesized through direct benzannulation reaction between 1,4-dicarbonyl compounds and indoles with catalytic amount of inexpensive zirconium(IV) chloride. This transformation proved to be regioselective and furnishes 1,4-disubstituted and 1,2,4-trisubstituted carbazoles with yields ranging from 26% to 91% and broad substrate scope. Moreover, this protocol benefits from using readily accessible starting materials without the need of their pre-functionalization. The synthetic utility of the products was exemplified by functionalization of an iodocarbazole by means of Suzuki-Miyaura reactions and by the synthesis of a 3-deaza-derivative of the natural product canthin-6-one.  相似文献

In vitro studies were conducted to identify the hepatic cytochrome P450 (CYP) forms involved in the oxidative metabolism of [14C]ABT-761 and its N-dehydroxylated metabolite, [14C]ABT-438, by human liver microsomes. The two compounds were metabolized by parallel pathways, to form the corresponding methylene bridge hydroxy metabolites. There was no evidence of sulfoxidation and/or ring hydroxylation. Over the ABT-761 and ABT-438 concentration ranges studied (1-300 microM), the rate of NADPH-dependent hydroxylation was linear with respect to substrate concentration ([S]) and did not conform to saturable Michaelis-Menten kinetics. Under these conditions ([S] < KM), the intrinsic clearance (Vmax/KM) of ABT-438 was 10-fold higher than that of ABT-761 (1.7 +/- 0.8 vs. 0.17 +/- 0.06 microl/min/mg, mean +/- SD, N = 3 livers). The hydroxylation of both compounds was shown to be highly correlated (r = 0.83, p < 0.01, N = 11 different human livers) with CYP3A-selective erythromycin N-demethylase activity, and the correlation between ABT-761 hydroxylation and tolbutamide hydroxylase (CYP2C9-selective) activity (r = 0.63, p < 0.05, N = 10) was also statistically significant. Ketoconazole (2.0 microM), a CYP3A-selective inhibitor, inhibited the hydroxylation of both compounds by 53-67%, and sulfaphenazole (CYP2C9-selective) decreased activity by 10-20%. By comparison, alpha-naphthoflavone, a known activator of CYP3A, stimulated the hydroxylation of ABT-761 (8-fold) and ABT-438 (4-fold). In addition, the abundance-normalized rates of cDNA-expressed CYP-dependent metabolism indicated that hydroxylation was largely mediated (66-86%) by CYP3A(4).
