Although extensive research has been conducted, understanding the exact phenomena occurring during the operation of polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFCs) remains difficult. This research attempted to identify new reasons for the reduced performance of PEFC using an imaging technique. To begin with, H+ and OH indicator sensors, which display red, blue, and green values (RGB) using digital microscopes, are developed and attached to each electrode of a membrane electrode assembly to enable quantitative analysis of ion generation. The proposed reaction in the fuel cell can be confirmed, and various reactions occurring in the electrode can be examined using this approach. In particular, H+ is generated at the anode and cathode of the anion exchange membrane fuel cell, which is found to be a major cause of performance deterioration.  相似文献

This study presents the main characteristics of a micro gas compressor produced by microfabrication techniques on silicon wafers. The compressor consists of a compression chamber, check valves and a silicon membrane where the piezoelectric bimorph actuator is installed. Compressor performance was investigated under various working conditions of input voltage and frequency to the actuator at several downstream back pressures. Volume stroke ratio is a critical parameter for gas compressors. However, micro actuators do not generally produce large displacement, so the volume stroke ratio of the micro compressor is expected to be significantly less than that of conventional mechanical compressors. Therefore, the possibility of using dual compression was also investigated in order to improve micro compressor performance. The performance of the micro compressor is evaluated in this study through experiments and simulation.  相似文献

Next-generation wireless networks should be able to coordinate and integrate different communication systems. It has been a challenging problem to support a seamless handover in these diverse wireless network environments. Link level triggers can provide information about events which can help handover decision and layer 3 entities better streamline their handover related activities. In most conventional layer 2 triggering approaches, a pre-defined threshold for a specific perspective such as the received signal strength is used. This may cause too late or too early handover executions. In this paper we propose a new predictive handover framework that uses the neighbor network information to generate timely the link triggers so that the required handover procedures can appropriately finish before the current link goes down. First we estimate a required handover time for the given neighbor network conditions, then using a predictive link triggering mechanism the handover start time is dynamically determined to minimize handover costs. The handover costs are analyzed in terms of the total required handover time and the service disruption time. The numerical analysis and simulation results show that the proposed method significantly enhances the handover performance in heterogeneous wireless networks.  相似文献

As a fine‐grained power gating method for achieving greater power savings, our approach takes advantage of the finite state machine with a datapath (FSMD) characteristic which shows sequential idleness among subcircuits. In an FSMD‐based power gating, while only an active subcircuit is expected to be turned on, more subcircuits should be activated due to the power overhead. To reduce the number of missed opportunities for power savings, we deactivated some of the turned‐on subcircuits by slowing the FSMD down and predicting its behavior. Our microprocessor experiments showed that the power savings are close to the upper bound.  相似文献

Wave field synthesis (WFS) has been gathering more and more attention recently due to its ability to perfectly reproduce an original sound field. However, to realize theoretically perfect WFS, a four‐sided loudspeaker array that encloses the listener is required. However, it is difficult to build such a system except in large listening spaces, such as a theater or concert hall. In other words, if the listening space is a home, installing a side loudspeaker array is impractical. If the two side walls located to the left and right of the listener can be omitted, a setup using only front and rear loudspeaker arrays may be a solution. In this letter, we present a subjective listening experiment of sound localization/distance based on a WFS using a front and rear loudspeaker array system which is conducted on two listening points and shows average localization errors of 6.1° and 9.18°, while the average distance errors are –27% (0.5 m) and –29% (0.6 m), respectively.  相似文献

To verify three important circuit schemes suitable for DRAMs in mobile applications, a 1.8-V 128-Mb SDRAM was implemented with a 0.15-/spl mu/m technology. To achieve an ideal 33% efficiency, the double boosting pump uses two capacitor's series connection at pumping phase, while they are precharged in parallel. The hybrid folded current sense amplifier together with a novel replica inverter connection improved power and speed performances. Also, a dual-referenced adjustment scheme for a temperature sensor was proposed to allow a very high accuracy in tuning. Without loss in productivity, the implemented dual-referenced searching technique achieved tuning error of less than /spl plusmn/2.5/spl deg/C.  相似文献

We report on new dc-free runlength-limited codes (DCRLL) intended for the next generation of DVD. The efficiency of the newly developed DCRLL schemes is extremely close to the theoretical maximum, and as a result, significant density gains can be obtained with respect to prior art coding schemes. With a newly developed DCRLL (d=2) code we can achieve a 9% higher overall rate than that of DVD's EFMPlus.  相似文献

An improved deep submicrometer (0.25 μm) MOSFET radio-frequency (RF) large signal model that incorporates a new breakdown current model and drain-to-substrate nonlinear coupling was developed and investigated using various experiments. An accurate breakdown model is required for deep submicrometer MOSFETs due to their relatively low breakdown voltage. For the first time, this RF nonlinear model incorporates the breakdown voltage turnover trend into a continuously differentiable channel current model and a new nonlinear coupling circuit between the drain and the lossy substrate. The robustness of the model is verified with measured pulsed I-V, S-parameters, power characteristics, harmonic distortion, and intermodulation distortion levels at different input and output termination conditions, operating biases, and frequencies  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a digital design methodology for the disturbance observer. The controller (disturbance observer) is designed such that the system sensitivity function is made to match a chosen target sensitivity function by numerical optimization. One advantage of the proposed design method is that the tradeoff between command following, disturbance suppression, and measurement noise rejection is made transparent in the process of the control system design. This allows the system designer to bypass the effort of obtaining a highly accurate system model. Another aim of this research, relative to previous works, is to study how the design specifications can be best structured in the digital filter (a main component of the disturbance observer) for easy implementation. The robust feedback controller, designed in the velocity loop, is used in conjunction with a feedback controller located in the position loop and a feedforward controller acting on the desired output to construct a control structure for high-speed/high-accuracy motion control. Simulation and experiments applied to a high-speed XY table designed for micro positioning demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller  相似文献
