In this study, the frictional power loss of the slippers affecting the performance of axial piston pumps and motors was investigated experimentally and theoretically. The working parameters and the slipper geometry causing minimum frictional power loss were determined. The system was also modeled by an artificial neural network. As can be seen in both approaches, the proposed neural network predictor can be employed in experimental applications of such systems.  相似文献

Large p-type TlInSe2, TlInTe2, and TlGaTe2 single crystals have been grown by the Bridgman-Stockbarger method, starting from stoichiometric melts. The first observations of the switching process in p-type TlGaTe2 single crystal are reported. Current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of symmetrical In/p-TlInSe2/In, In/p-TlInTe2/In, and In/p-TlGaTe2/In structures exhibit two distinct regions: an ohmic region at low current densities and nonlinear regions (S-shape) having negative differential resistance (NDR) at moderate and higher current densities. An electrothermal model was used to explain the nonlinear behavior. The nonlinear behavior of the I–V curves was studied at different ambient temperatures in the 100–340K region; the sample temperature and the threshold voltage of the NDR region were examined as a function of the current density and the ambient temperature, respectively. The electrothermal model is a satisfactory explanation.  相似文献

This research was motivated by the belief that it is possible to develop improved algorithms for the computer control of urban traffic. Previous research suggested that the computer software, and especially the filtering and prediction algorithms, is the limiting factor in computerized traffic control. Since the modern approach to filtering and prediction begins with the development of models for the generation of the data and since these models are also useful in the control problem, this paper deals with the modeling of traffic queues and filtering and prediction. It is shown that the data received from vehicle detectors is a discrete-time point process. The formation and dispersion of queues at a traffic signal is then modeled by a discrete-time time-varying Markov chain which is related to the observation point process. Three such models of increasing complexity are given. Recent results in the theory of point-process filtering and prediction are then used to derive the nonlinear minimum error variance filters/predictors corresponding to these models. It is then shown that these optimal estimators are computationally feasible in a micro-processor. All three algorithms were tested against the UTCS-1 traffic simulator and, in one case, against an algorithm in current use called ASCOT. Some results of these tests are shown. They indicate good performance in every case and better performance than ASCOT in the comparable case.  相似文献

Polyphenol oxidase (PPO) was purified from Boletus erythropus using a Sepharose 4B-L-tyrosine-p-amino benzoic acid affinity column. Optimum pH and temperature were found to be 8.0 and 20 °C, respectively, using 4-methylcatechol as a substrate. The enzyme was extremely stable between pH 3.0 and 9.0 after 24 h incubation at 4 °C. B. erythropus PPO was also quite stable between 10 and 30 °C after 4 h incubation. The Km and Vmax values were calculated as 2.8 mM and 1430 U/mg protein by Lineweaver–Burk curve, respectively. The enzyme activity was inhibited by sodium metabisulfite, ascorbic acid, sodium azide and benzoic acid. It was seen that the mushroom PPO was an effective biocatalyst in selected organic solvents, such as dichloromethane, dichloroethane and toluene, when catechin was used as a substrate. All data support that B. erythropus has a highly active PPO, possessing similar biochemical and kinetic characteristics to other plant PPOs.  相似文献

This paper presents the application of a component-based Grid middleware system for processing extremely large images obtained from digital microscopy devices. We have developed parallel, out-of-core techniques for different classes of data processing operations employed on images from confocal microscopy scanners. These techniques are combined into a data preprocessing and analysis pipeline using the component-based middleware system. The experimental results show that: 1) our implementation achieves good performance and can handle very large datasets on high-performance Grid nodes, consisting of computation and/or storage clusters and 2) it can take advantage of Grid nodes connected over high-bandwidth wide-area networks by combining task and data parallelism.  相似文献

It has previously been shown that the cattle brain is supplied with blood via a basi-occipital plexus, in addition to branches from the carotid and basilar arteries. In addition it has been shown during conventional stunning and slaughter that the carotid arteries in cattle can develop false aneurysms at their severed ends and this can curtail exsanguination. This investigation examined whether false aneurysms can occur during religious slaughter, and during bleeding following electrical stunning that simultaneously induced a cardiac arrest. The prevalence of large (>3 cm outer diameter) false aneurysms in cattle carotid arteries was 10% for both shechita and halal slaughter. The prevalence of animals with bilateral false aneurysms (at least 2 cm in one artery and at least 3 cm diameter in the opposite artery) was 7% and 8% for shechita and halal slaughter, respectively. No false aneurysms occurred during bleeding in cattle that were electrically stunned and simultaneously developed a cardiac arrest. The combination of false aneurysms and collateral routes to the brain present a risk of sustained consciousness during religious slaughter in cattle.  相似文献

The rheological properties of salep drink sweetened with different honeys were measured using a controlled-stress rheometer. Mixture design experiments were used to study the effect of interactions among pine, flower and highland honeys on the rheological properties of salep-honey drink mixture (SHDM) samples. In addition, product optimization was carried out using the ridge analysis to determine the optimum mixture proportions based on sensory properties of SHDM samples. Flower honey was the component showing the highest effect on the consistency coefficient values of SHDM samples. The preference of panelists was more prominent for the SHDM samples including the higher concentrations of highland honey with respect to odour and overall preference parameters. Optimum values of pine, flower and highland honeys in the mixture were found to be 0–85%, 0–40% and 15–100%, respectively, with respect to sensory properties. In addition, ridge analysis results revealed that the SHDM should include 65% highland honey, 35% pine honey and no flower honey to obtain the maximum overall preference score (7.24). The consistency coefficient and flow behavior index values of the sample to get maximum overall preference score (7.24) were predicted to be 3.650 Pa sn and 0.435, respectively.  相似文献

External magnetic fields affect various electrochemical processes and can be used to enhance the efficiency of the electrochemical water splitting reaction. However, the driving forces behind this effect are poorly understood due to the analytical challenges of the available interface-sensitive techniques. Here, we present a set-up based on magneto- and electro-optical probing, which allows to juxtapose the magnetic properties of the electrode with the electrochemical current densities in situ at various applied potentials and magnetic fields. On the example of an archetypal hydrogen evolution catalyst, Pt (in a form of Co/Pt superlattice), we provide evidence that a magnetic field acts on the electrochemical double layer affecting the local concentration gradient of hydroxide ions, which simultaneously affects the magneto-optical and magnetocurrent response.  相似文献
