The treatment of kinetic shear Alfvén waves in homogeneous magnetized plasmas by means of Vlasov simulation is examined. To this end, the driftkinetic version of the Vlasov-Maxwell equations is solved via various numerical schemes, all employing a grid in (1+1)D phase space. Since kinetic shear Alfvén waves are Landau damped, the use of an equidistant grid in velocity space leads to a recurrence problem. The latter can be circumvented, however, by damping the finest velocity space scales through higher-order collision operators. Of particular interest is the question if and under which circumstances the magnetohydrodynamic limit (small perpendicular wavenumber) can be recovered. 相似文献

Atomically thin transition metal dichalcogenides are highly promising for integrated optoelectronic and photonic systems due to their exciton-driven linear and nonlinear interactions with light. Integrating them into optical fibers yields novel opportunities in optical communication, remote sensing, and all-fiber optoelectronics. However, the scalable and reproducible deposition of high-quality monolayers on optical fibers is a challenge. Here, the chemical vapor deposition of monolayer MoS2 and WS2 crystals on the core of microstructured exposed-core optical fibers and their interaction with the fibers’ guided modes are reported. Two distinct application possibilities of 2D-functionalized waveguides to exemplify their potential are demonstrated. First, the excitonic 2D material photoluminescence is simultaneously excited and collected with the fiber modes, opening a novel route to remote sensing. Then it is shown that third-harmonic generation is modified by the highly localized nonlinear polarization of the monolayers, yielding a new avenue to tailor nonlinear optical processes in fibers. A model of a bench-scale methanation reactor was set-up by modifying the classical two-phase model approach and introducing an additional bulk flow from bubble to dense phase to consider the volume contraction of the methanation reaction. The model uses experimentally determined kinetics and hydrodynamic correlations from literature. It was satisfyingly validated by comparing the calculated gas concentration profiles with the experimental data, especially with respect to initial reaction rates and reactor exit concentrations.A sensitivity study with respect to different bubble size correlations, mass transfer rates and considering or neglecting the bulk flow (influence of volume contraction caused by the methanation reaction) was carried out. It showed that the bubble size correlation by Werther and the resulting gas concentration profiles fit the measured data better than the computed gas concentration profiles using the bubble size correlation by Rowe.Neither a variation of the mass transfer coefficient nor neglecting the bulk flow in the fluidized bed model did yield further improvement of the calculated concentration profiles. 相似文献

Trace amine-associated receptor 1 (TAAR1) is a Gαs- protein coupled receptor that plays an important role in the regulation of the immune system and neurotransmission in the CNS. In ovarian cancer cell lines, stimulation of TAAR1 via 3-iodothyronamine (T1AM) reduces cell viability and induces cell death and DNA damage. Aim of this study was to evaluate the prognostic value of TAAR1 on overall survival of ovarian carcinoma patients and the correlation of TAAR1 expression with clinical parameters. Ovarian cancer tissue of n = 156 patients who were diagnosed with epithelial ovarian cancer (serous, n = 110 (high-grade, n = 80; low-grade, n = 24; unknown, n = 6); clear cell, n = 12; endometrioid, n = 21; mucinous, n = 13), and who underwent surgery at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University Hospital of the Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich, Germany between 1990 and 2002, were analyzed. The tissue was stained immunohistochemically with anti-TAAR1 and evaluated with the semiquantitative immunoreactive score (IRS). TAAR1 expression was correlated with grading, FIGO and TNM-classification, and analyzed via the Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient. Further statistical analysis was obtained using nonparametric Kruskal-Wallis rank-sum test and Mann-Whitney-U-test. This study shows that high TAAR1 expression is a positive prognosticator for overall survival in ovarian cancer patients and is significantly enhanced in low-grade serous carcinomas compared to high-grade serous carcinomas. The influence of TAAR1 as a positive prognosticator on overall survival indicates a potential prognostic relevance of signal transduction of thyroid hormone derivatives in epithelial ovarian cancer. Further studies are required to evaluate TAAR1 and its role in the development of ovarian cancer. 相似文献

Visualizing biomolecules by fluorescent tagging is a powerful method for studying their behaviour and function inside cells. We prepared and genetically encoded an unnatural amino acid (UAA) that features a bicyclononyne moiety. This UAA offered exceptional reactivity in strain‐promoted azide–alkyne cycloadditions. Kinetic measurements revealed that the UAA reacted also remarkably fast in the inverse‐electron‐demand Diels–Alder cycloaddition with tetrazine‐conjugated dyes. Genetic encoding of the new UAA inside mammalian cells and its subsequent selective labeling at low dye concentrations demonstrate the usefulness of the new amino acid for future imaging studies. 相似文献
