Copoly(amide-ethers) containing two types of tertiary amine units were made as antistatic modifiers for poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) fibers. The filaments of the copolymers were melt-spun and reacted with three alkylating agents in order to quaternize the tertiary amine into a sulfo-betaine, a carbobetaine, and an ammonium ion. The apparent electric resistivity of the filaments was greatly reduced by this reaction, being in the range of 106 to 108 Ω/cm. However, because these quaternized copolymers incurred decomposition during blend spinning with PET, a blend PET fiber containing one type of copoly(amide-ether) was melt-spun and subjected to quaternization of the amino groups as well as to surface crosslinking with various alkylating and epoxy agents. The quaternized blend fibers obtained showed improved antistatic properties compared with the original blend fiber. Particularly, the fibers crosslinked with epoxy compounds were found to have the best antistatic properties that had ever been attained with this type of modification. The antistatic properties were retained even after dyeing, because both hydrophilic and ionic groups had been effectively immobilized on the surface. Since this quaternization and crosslinking could be conducted on-line with spinning and drawing within a short reaction time, this modification technique is called “spin-finishing method”, which should be superior to the conventional methods in terms of cost performance and productivity. 相似文献

A new technique for imparting antistatic properties to poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) fiber has been developed. In this technique, blend polyester fibers containing poly(ethylene terephthalate/5-sulfoisophthalate) (SIP-PET) were prepared by blend spinning and then treated with various cationic surfactants in the process of dyeing. The surfactants could effectively be immobilized on the fiber as the counter cations of the sulfonate groups of the 5-sulfoisophthalate (SIP) units and aid the release of static electrons formed in the fiber. Thus, the half-life time (t1/2) of leakage of static charge and the surface resistivity (Rs) of the blend PET fibers became much lower after treating. The best result was obtained with a methylated quaternary ammonium salt of a stearylamine-ethylene oxide (EO) adduct or hydrochloride of a laurylamine-EO adduct as the surfactant of which the number of EO units was around ten. Even after five washing cycles the t1/2 value of the fibers treated with these surfactants was kept lower than 30 s with the Rs value maintained in the order of 1013 Ω cm-2. Therefore, the present technique could be useful for practical production of polyester fibers with “semi-permanent” antistatic properties which can be recovered by re-treatment even if they were lost. 相似文献

Group I (GI) self‐splicing ribozymes are attractive tools for biotechnology and synthetic biology. Several trans‐splicing and related reactions based on GI ribozymes have been developed for the purpose of recombining their target mRNA sequences. By combining trans‐splicing systems with rational modular engineering of GI ribozymes it was possible to achieve more complex editing of target RNA sequences. In this study we have developed a cooperative trans‐splicing system through rational modular engineering with use of dimeric GI ribozymes derived from the Tetrahymena group I intron ribozyme. The resulting pairs of ribozymes exhibited catalytic activity depending on their selective dimerization. Rational modular redesign as performed in this study would facilitate the development of sophisticated regulation of double or multiple trans‐splicing reactions in a cooperative manner. 相似文献

The farnesoid X receptor (FXR) is a major nuclear receptor of bile acids; its activation suppresses sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1c (SREBP1c)-mediated lipogenesis and decreases the lipid contents in the liver. There are many reports showing that the administration of ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) suppresses lipogenesis and reduces the lipid contents in the liver of experimental animals. Since UDCA is not recognized as an FXR agonist, these effects of UDCA cannot be readily explained by its direct activation of FXR. We observed that the dietary administration of UDCA in mice decreased the expression levels of SREBP1c and its target lipogenic genes. Alpha- and β-muricholic acids (MCA) and cholic acid (CA) were the major bile acids in the mouse liver but their contents decreased upon UDCA administration. The hepatic contents of chenodeoxycholic acid and deoxycholic acid (DCA) were relatively low but were not changed by UDCA. UDCA did not show FXR agonistic or antagonistic potency in in vitro FXR transactivation assay. Taking these together, we deduced that the above-mentioned change in hepatic bile acid composition induced upon UDCA administration might cause the relative increase in the FXR activity in the liver, mainly by the reduction in the content of β-MCA, a farnesoid X receptor antagonist, which suggests a mechanism by which UDCA suppresses lipogenesis and decreases the lipid contents in the mouse liver. 相似文献

Isoprenoids form the largest family of compounds found in nature. Isoprenoids are often attached to other moieties such as aromatic compounds, indoles/tryptophan, and flavonoids. These reactions are catalyzed by three phylogenetically distinct prenyltransferases: soluble aromatic prenyltransferases identified mainly in actinobacteria, soluble indole prenyltransferases mostly in fungi, and membrane‐bound prenyltransferases in various organisms. Fusicoccin A (FC A) is a diterpene glycoside produced by the plant‐pathogenic fungus Phomopsis amygdali and has a unique O‐prenylated glucose moiety. In this study, we identified for the first time, from a genome database of P. amygdali, a gene (papt) encoding a prenyltransferase that reversibly transfers dimethylallyl diphosphate (DMAPP) to the 6′‐hydroxy group of the glucose moiety of FC A to yield an O‐prenylated sugar. An in vitro assay with a recombinant enzyme was also developed. Detailed analyses with recombinant PAPT showed that the enzyme is likely to be a monomer and requires no divalent cations. The optimum pH and temperature were 8.0 and 50 °C, respectively. Km values were calculated as 0.49±0.037 μM for FC P (a plausible intermediate of FC A biosynthesis) and 8.3±0.63 μM for DMAPP, with a kcat of 55.3±3.3×10?3 s. The enzyme did not act on representative substrates of the above‐mentioned three types of prenyltransferase, but showed a weak transfer activity of geranyl diphosphate to FC P. 相似文献

Low-resistivity indium tin oxide [ITO] film was successfully deposited on oxygen plasma-treated polyethylene terephthalate [PET] surfaces at room temperature. X-ray diffraction [XRD] measurements demonstrated that the film deposited on the PET surface that had not been treated with oxygen plasma had an amorphous structure. In contrast, after the low-power oxygen plasma treatment of the PET surface, the ITO film deposited on the PET surface had a poly-crystalline structure due to interactions between electric dipoles on the PET surface and electric dipoles in the ITO film. The minimum resistivity of the poly-crystalline ITO was about 3.6 times lower than that of the amorphous ITO film. In addition, we found that the resistivity of ITO film is proportional to the intensity of the (400) line in the film's XRD spectra. 相似文献

Many studies have been conducted on the evacuation behavior on the staircases of buildings, but very little data are available for a situation with many occupants in a crowded high‐rise building. Therefore, this study investigated the evacuation behavior of a large number of evacuees on the staircase of a 25‐story high‐rise building. A total evacuation drill was conducted with 2088 evacuees, and the behavior of 1136 evacuees on the landings of the south staircase was recorded by a video recorder on the ceiling. The relationship between the density and speed of the evacuees on the landings was analyzed from the evacuation data for two situations: without and with merging in the stair flow. The evacuation stair flow in this drill had merging occupants entering from the floors, but no one entered from the lower floors during the latter period of the drill. Therefore, the flow during the latter period was treated as non‐merging flow, for which it was observed that, when the staircase was fully crowded, the density on the landings in the moving situation was different from that in the stopped situation. Moreover, the density on the landings was different from that on the treads. Furthermore, in the merging flow, a merging ratio of approximately 50:50 occurred during the congested evacuation. Poly[vinylidenefluoride‐co‐(tetrafluoroethylene)] (P(VDF‐TeFE)) exhibited clear spherulitic texture with negative birefringence. The number and growth rates of the spherulites decreased at high crystallization temperature than at low crystallization temperature. Nonetheless, overall larger spherulites were found at high crystallization temperature and the brightness of the spherulites increased very fast at low crystallization temperature, thereafter it seemed as diminution of birefringence. AFM was used to investigate the impact of organo modified nanodiamond(ND) on spherulitic textures, lamellar thickness, and thickness distribution of P(VDF‐TeFE) copolymer. Poly[ethylene‐co‐(tetrafluoroethylene)] (ETFE) also confirmed spherulites structure and the boundaries could be clearly observed. By incorporation of the organo modified nanodiamond (ND) and organo‐modified montmorillonite (MMT) in fluropolymer matrix, it was found that spherulitic texture was seriously disordered and their nanohybrids was found only to have poorly developed spherulite structure. Both of the nanohybrids samples show better crystallization temperature as compared to their neat copolymer samples. There has been increasing use of Al-Li alloys in the aerospace industry, due mainly to the low density and high elastic modulus
of this material. However, the problem of low ductility and fracture toughness of this material has limited its present application
to only weight- and stiffness-critical components. Development of Al-Li/ceramic composites is currently being investigated
to enhance the service capabilities of this material. The Ti-Al alloy is also of interest to aerospace-type applications,
engine components in particular, due to its attractive high-temperature properties. Preparation of fine powders by plasma
melting of composite feedstock and coatings formed by plasma spraying was carried out to examine the effect of spray parameters
on the microstructure and properties of these materials. Characterization of the powders and coatings was performed using
the scanning electron microscope and image analyzer. Examination of the plasma-sprayed powders and coatings has shown that
in the Al-Li/SiC composite there is melting of both materials to form a single composite particle. The SiC reinforcement was
in the submicron range and contributed to additional strengthening of the composite body, which was formed by a cold isostatic
press and consolidated by hot extrusion or hot forging processes. The plasma-sprayed Ti-Al powder showed four categories of

Rubber is an important industrial material. However, mechanical properties and deformation of the high polymer including rubber are not clear. A method of estimating the mechanical properties which can be used for the deteriorated rubber is demanded to improve the reliability of it. Improved VBO (Viscoplasticity theory based on overstress) model is a constitutive equation. We applied it for the compression stress-strain behavior of deteriorated NBR (acryloNitrile-Butadiene rubber). Furthermore, we proposed a method of estimating the mechanical properties of deteriorated NBR. In this paper, deterioration tests in water and in air were conducted. To confirm the validity of the proposed improved VBO model and estimated mechanical properties, simulations of the stress-strain curves obtained in the tests were conducted. 相似文献
