Simulation of the condition of plane sections in the finite element method

Specific sintering by temperature impulses as a mechanism of formation of a TiN layer in the reactive pulse plasma

A layer of separate TiN particles was fabricated and temperature pulsed in order to determine whether the short lasting intense heat of the deposited clusters can lead to their sintering. It was found that a specific sintering process is inseparably involved in the process of crystallization of the layer from the pulse plasma. The pulse heating also causes an increase in the adhesion of the layer to the substrate.     

Pulsed and cw operation of helium-water vapor laser at 28 microm

The operating characteristics of a water vapor-helium laser working at 28 microm are presented. Comparison is made of power output in continuous and pulsed operation for various gas mixtures and discharge currents for the same laser cavity.     

Thermal conductivity of a Kondo superconductor in the gapless state

The thermal conductivity coefficient for a Kondo superconductor in the gapless state is obtained within the framework of the Matsuura, Ichinose, and Nagaoka theory. By expanding the heat current correlation function appearing in the Kubo formula for the thermal conductivity in powers of the order parameter, analytical expressions for the thermal conductivity to second power in the order parameter are obtained. The thermal conductivities for bothT _KT _c 0 andT _KT _c 0 superconductors are obtained.     

Corundum hydraulically hardening rammed compounds with a reduced grain size

Conclusions The production and use of rammed hydraulically hardening corundum compounds with different maximum grain sizes (from 1 to 7 mm) permits intermediate repairs of the linings of ladles of a steel ladle treatment unit, increasing their life.It is possible to determine the quantity of binder for obtaining the maximum strength by calculation by use of the coefficient of optimization, which is the portion of binder required per unit of specific surface of the mixture of filler grains. For the corundum hydraulically hardening compounds the optimum value of this coefficient is 0.8–1.2.Translated from Ogneupory, No. 2, pp. 40–43, February, 1987.
