Using a password manager is known to be more convenient and secure than not using one, on the assumption that the password manager itself is safe. However recent studies show that most popular password managers have security vulnerabilities that may be fooled to leak passwords without users’ awareness. In this paper, we propose a new password manager, SplitPass, which vertically separates both the storage and access of passwords into two mutually distrusting parties. During login, all the parties will collaborate to send their password shares to the web server, but none of these parties will ever have the complete password, which significantly raises the bar of a successful attack to compromise all of the parties. To retain transparency to existing applications and web servers, SplitPass seamlessly splits the secure sockets layer (SSL) and transport layer security (TCP) sessions to process on all parties, and makes the joining of two password shares transparent to the web servers. We have implemented SplitPass using an Android phone and a cloud assistant and evaluated it using 100 apps from top free apps in the Android official market. The capability of manipulating the interfacial electronic coupling is the key to achieving on-demand functionalities of catalysts. Herein, it is demonstrated that the electronic coupling of Fe2N can be effectively regulated for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) catalysis by vacancy-mediated orbital steering. Ex situ refined structural analysis reveals that the electronic and coordination states of Fe2N can be well manipulated by nitrogen vacancies, which impressively exhibit strong correlation with the catalytic activities. Theoretical studies further indicate that the nitrogen vacancy can uniquely steer the orbital orientation of the active sites to tailor the electronic coupling and thus benefit the surface adsorption capability. This work sheds light on the understanding of the catalytic mechanism in real systems and could contribute to revolutionizing the current catalyst design for HER and beyond. 相似文献

Synthetic polymers have recently drawn increasing attention to chemical sand stabilization (CSS). The relationship between the molecular structure and the fixing effect, however, is rarely reported aside from the performance. In this article, different segments of waterborne polyurethane dispersions (PUDs) are discussed with respect to their influence on stabilizing sand. We prepared five PUDs by controlling parameters including the diisocyanate-to-polyol ratio (R) and the molecular weight and characterized them with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and laser particle analysis. The unconfined compressive strength (UCS), a key criterion in CSS, was used to evaluate the performance of the PUDs. We found that a bigger R gave the polyurethane (PU) film a higher strength than the smaller R but did not do the same to the sand mold. This indicated that homogeneity was a primary property of the sand mold. Taking the details of the crushed sand molds and the PU films into account, we concluded that the soft segments played a major role in the homogeneity. Force analysis showed that four modes of breaking occurred at the interface of the sand and cured PU. We concluded that whereas the hard segments in PU determined the ceiling of the UCS, the soft segments determined the floor by benefiting adsorption. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. SnO2–Zn2SnO4 composite ceramics with a colossal dielectric permittivity and varistor behavior are prepared by traditional ceramic processing. By increasing bias voltage from 0 to 10 V at a low frequency (~103 Hz) and at room temperature, the relative permittivity decreased rapidly from about 20 000 to several thousand, whereas the radius of the semicircle in the complex impedance decreased and the tail gradually disappeared. However, the peak height and the position of the imaginary part of the complex modulus in the spectra were independent of the applied DC voltage. The slope deduced from the bias voltage‐dependent straight lines of the double‐logarithmic imaginary permittivity spectra were constant with a value of ?0.63 at high frequencies and they decreased to ?1 at low frequencies. The results strongly indicate that a number of weekly trapped charges existed in the ceramic bulk. From the temperature‐dependent dielectric and electric modulus spectra, the trapped charge activation energy was about 0.32 eV, which may be associated with the oxygen vacancies. Based on the results, a modified equivalent circuit related to the colossal dielectric permittivity and varistor properties was proposed, in which a Warburg impedance was added in parallel with the resistance and capacitance. 相似文献
