Molecular structure of monolayers formed at the interface between Au(1 1 1) surfaces and solutions containing n-alkanes has been studied by in situ scanning tunneling microscopy at room temperature. Increasing the CnH2n+2 length from n=10 up to 50 with even n numbers alternates rectangular and tilted arrangement of alkanes within the self-organized layers. This alternation is related to the dramatically lowered sliding force for molecules with a length close to mT (m-integer), where T is the period of commensurability between the CH2-CH2-CH2 period along alkyl chains and the interatomic distance along Au〈1 1 0〉 direction.  相似文献

The scope of work is to study the mutual influence of metal ions during their sorption by sulfoethylated chitosan. The sorption isotherms of metal ions from single- and multi-component solutions are obtained. The sorption capacity of the sorbent towards Ag(I) and Cu(II) is revealed to be 1.63 and 1.41 mmol/g in single-, and 1.40 and 0.85 mmol/g in five-component solution. By comparing the affinity parameter and capacity of sulfoethylated chitosan towards ions in single- and multi-component solutions, it is concluded that Ag(I) and Cu(II) ions suppress the sorption of cobalt(II), nickel(II), zinc(II), cadmium(II), magnesium(II), calcium(II), strontium(II), barium(II), manganese(II) and lead(II).  相似文献

The possibility of experimental measurement of the Poynting vector characteristics is shown. Under paraxial approximation, these characteristics may be obtained on the basis of local Stokes polarimetry and interferometry of electric field components. The experimental results for elliptically polarized Gaussian beam and heterogeneously polarized elementary fields are presented.  相似文献

Hops contain large amounts of secondary metabolites, many of which have notable bioactive and sensory characteristics. Many of these properties are affected by the processing of raw hops into products. We studied the influence of high‐pressure processing (HPP) on the content and composition of secondary metabolites in hop homogenates prepared from fresh green cones of several Czech hop varieties. Homogenates contained more hop oils (27% on average) compared to dried hops. The composition of essential oils in homogenates after HPP showed a decrease in fatty acid methyl and thioesters fractions (80 and 100% respectively). Conversely, the number of other bioactive compounds from the group of resins and prenylflavonoids that remained in HPP homogenates was retained to a greater extent than in the dried hops. Low temperatures and an oxygen‐free atmosphere were effective conditions for the preservation of raw hops and hop products. Copyright © 2018 The Institute of Brewing & Distilling  相似文献

Tandem mass spectrometry is the prevailing approach for large-scale peptide sequencing in high-throughput proteomic profiling studies. Effective database search engines have been developed to identify peptide sequences from MS/MS fragmentation spectra. Since proteins are polymorphic and subject to post-translational modifications (PTM), however, computational methods for detecting unanticipated variants are also needed to achieve true proteome-wide coverage. Different from existing "unrestrictive" search tools, we present a novel algorithm, termed SIMS (for Sequential Motif Interval Search), that interprets pairs of product ion peaks, representing potential amino acid residues or "intervals", as a means of mapping PTMs or substitutions in a blind database search mode. An effective heuristic software program was likewise developed to evaluate, rank, and filter optimal combinations of relevant intervals to identify candidate sequences, and any associated PTM or polymorphism, from large collections of MS/MS spectra. The prediction performance of SIMS was benchmarked extensively against annotated reference spectral data sets and compared favorably with, and was complementary to, current state-of-the-art methods. An exhaustive discovery screen using SIMS also revealed thousands of previously overlooked putative PTMs in a compendium of yeast protein complexes and in a proteome-wide map of adult mouse cardiomyocytes. We demonstrate that SIMS, freely accessible for academic research use, addresses gaps in current proteomic data interpretation pipelines, improving overall detection coverage, and facilitating comprehensive investigations of the fundamental multiplicity of the expressed proteome.  相似文献

Different approaches to synthesize diaminofuroxan are presented herein. Mathematical and quantum chemical methods were used to study the possible reasons for failures in the syntheses of diaminofuroxan. Additionally, structural isomers of this compound were generated. With the help of the results of quantum chemical calculations at levels of DFT B3LYP 6‐31G(d) and MP2 6‐31G(d), screening of the most stable isomeric forms in the gaseous phase and in water was performed. It was shown that diaminofuroxan is not the thermodynamically most stable isomer among its structural analogues.  相似文献

Single and multi-layer Cr/Cr2O3 coatings were deposited by reactive magnetron sputtering with the total thickness of 7 μm on steel substrates. X-ray diffraction analysis showed that single and multi-layer Cr/Cr2O3 coatings have different preferred crystal orientations. Columnar microstructure was detected by transmission electron microscopy both in metal chromium and ceramic chromium oxide layers. Grain size increased with the coating thickness. The value of single and multi-layer coating's fracture toughness is between 4 and 6 MPa·m1/2 measured with the Berkovich tip indentation, and it is between 2.8 and 3.9 MPa·m1/2 when measured with the Vickers indenter. The adhesion is about 192.1 and 246.7 J/m2 for single and multi-layer coatings, respectively.  相似文献

In a free-living flatworm, Macrostomum lignano, an S-phase kinase-associated protein 1 (SKP1) homologous gene was identified as enriched in proliferating cells, suggesting that it can function in the regulation of stem cells or germline cells since these are the only two types of proliferating cells in flatworms. SKP1 is a conserved protein that plays a role in ubiquitination processes as a part of the Skp1-Cullin 1-F-box (SCF) ubiquitin ligase complex. However, the exact role of Mlig-SKP1 in M. lignano was not established. Here, we demonstrate that Mlig-SKP1 is neither involved in stem cell regulation during homeostasis, nor in regeneration, but is required for spermatogenesis. Mlig-SKP1(RNAi) animals have increased testes size and decreased fertility as a result of the aberrant maturation of sperm cells. Our findings reinforce the role of ubiquitination pathways in germ cell regulation and demonstrate the conserved role of SKP1 in spermatogenesis.  相似文献

The assembly of colloidal semiconductive nanocrystals into highly ordered superlattices predicts novel structure-related properties by design. However, those structure–property relationships, such as charge transport depending on the structure or even directions of the superlattice, have remained unrevealed so far. Here, electric transport measurements and X-ray nanodiffraction are performed on self-assembled lead sulfide nanocrystal superlattices to investigate direction-dependent charge carrier transport in microscopic domains of these materials. By angular X-ray cross-correlation analysis, the structure and orientation of individual superlattices is determined, which are directly correlated with the electronic properties of the same microdomains. By that, strong evidence for the effect of superlattice crystallinity on the electric conductivity is found. Further, anisotropic charge transport in highly ordered monocrystalline domains is revealed, which is attributed to the dominant effect of shortest interparticle distance. This implies that transport anisotropy should be a general feature of weakly coupled nanocrystal superlattices.  相似文献
